recently, we looked at a very similar one, and before cooking, we assumed something close to A. huebneri.

Phyllonorycter roboris - one of the few species of this huge genus, easily identified from the photo =)

As always, I'm interested in your exact location.

Nepticulidae for 13 regions of this type in Sinev is given, only two species: Stigmella carpinella Stigmella malella, but maybe something else.
Ciscaucasia includes 4 regions from the catalog smile.gif
Ciscaucasia is a mostly flat territory north of the foothills of the Greater Caucasus, bounded on the north by the Kumo-Manych Depression, the Salsk-Manych Ridge with the Yergeni upland, on the west by the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, and on the east by the Caspian Sea. The length from west-northwest to east-southeast is more than 900 km, the meridian section (distance from the northern to the southern edge) is up to 300 km.

Thank you. But I can't even name the territory where I live as the Caucasus. This is a narrow strip where the plain ends and the foothills begin. On the highway Krasnodar Novorossiysk. Writing something like "the flat part and the beginning of the foothills of the Northwestern Caucasus" is a scrap. Do you know of another short and succinct definition?

Krasnodar Territory, foothills (better of course the area, but this will be enough)
1 size 6-7 mm, on nettles, All Ciscaucasia, fresh

Still probably Caloptilia robustella

Thank you. When specific foothills, I will write. But here's what to do with the flat part. To the right are mountains, to the left are fields and rice paddies, former Kuban floodplains. There are completely different biocenoses here. Easier, probably, as before, with the clarification: "Ciscaucasia, foothills" and "Ciscaucasia, plain", although all the most interesting things happen on the border

You understand that you need accurate information and can see the difference even between biotopes, but at the same time you refuse to help those who determine your material specify more or less accurate geography. Sometimes a geographical point or date can be the decisive argument in determining it. But I do not know how precise the definition is for you, and for what purpose. Maybe you are satisfied with a rough definition. Maybe you save the exact data for further publication, it also happens. smile.gif

We will try our best. And I don't pretend to be too precise. Sometimes, as with butterflies or flies, at least get into the family, but it's better to get to the genus, and even better to get to the species smile.gif, especially if there is very little information about the object and you can't really determine it yourself
