It seems to me that this is Cratocephalus cicatricosus (Fischer, 1842)

They sent me a photo of two karabuses from the Far East (50 km NW of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, 400m n. o. m. June 15, 2005), and asked me to tell them who it was. On the left, I understand, is C. hummeli ssp., and on the right, who is it?

karabuses from the Carpathians.
I got them from Yuri Grelyak at the New Year's celebration in Kharkiv,he is also from Lviv, I think you are familiar...maybe your ground beetles, too...

And the number three in the second photo is probably a very tough disjunction, although most likely it has a point of capture: Krasnodar Territory, Krasnoarmeysky district, Red forest... It's called Archiplectes prometheus prometheus...
I left the rest for Ruslan...

About 2. Tachypus cancellatus ssp.
maybe someone knows what subspecies lives in the Carpathians???

This one is very different from the ones I caught in Kharkiv.(mine are red and matte, and the Carpathian ones are very shiny)

26.12.2008 0:16, rpanin

It will be difficult to understand the mix that Yura Geryak brought, but I will still try:
1) Abax schueppeli rendschmidtii (Germar, 1839) Lviv region. Starosamborsky district 2 km From the village. Dobromyl-pitfalls, May 2005

2) the cancellatus is not mine, so I can't say for sure without specifying the locale.Judging by the size , it's probably nominative. Or Carabus (Tachypus) cancellatus durus carpathicus (Tarpaulin taxonomy)

3) Carabus (Pachystus) glabratus gibbosus Heyden, 1866 (weak subspecies)
Lviv region, Stryi district, OKR, with Pyatnychany, Bilchevsky forest –. June-July 2008

Figure 2. Carabus (Orinocarabus) sylvestris transylvanicus Dejean 1826 Transcarpathian region. Rakhiv district, Petros, h-1850-2020m. 29.07-8.09.08 g
Pterostichus pilosus Host, 1789-Carpathian Mountains, above 800 m above sea level-everywhere

What I'm getting at - a pair of solid(even banal) ones with precise indications of the location and date of beetle collection is better than a scrap mattress with vague data. mad.gif

Well, I bought a beetle from an old collection from a friend for 2-3 hryvnias, and many of them without tags under the numbers, and the data is written in a notebook...he promised to get me a notebook later so I could rewrite it...fed me breakfast(then, then I'll look, there is no time, they say)
so far, there are about 30 types without labels, and the rest without names

all bonuses...it is necessary at least in the future will be here to post on the forum...

The one from Primorye Carabus (Hemicarabus) tuberculosis Dejean, 1829. It has a fairly extensive range, but it is said to be rare everywhere. And in Primorye it is rare for sure. The second is someone from Diocarabus, I can't say for sure.

It's hard to say anything unambiguously from these photos . You need a larger image (you can use it without the upper part)
I can say that just the 8th number is a nominative . Below in the photo of the 8th issue, I showed the third main gap and that after it there are only two gaps.
But the photo of the 6th will ask in the studio! I would ask you to take a picture of this beetle as best as possible and in half a turn and also large on top.
I also once again show a clear-cut differential difference on frivaldskyi from the Dnipropetrovsk region.
And try to figure it out for yourself; In the species scheidleri and excellens, the elytra are separated by gaps . Every three intervals there is a fourth main one with clearer pits. So, the nominative taxa of these species have three main gaps, while scheidleri ronayi and excellens frivaldskyi have four clearly visible gaps, even with a weak magnifying glass.

bugs are all from the same place.. So there can't be a subspecies in principle..

But I didn't understand how to distinguish all this frown.gifI can't understand at all what is in the intervals how to count them and all that frown.gif

Andrey, each red line marks a gap. Where there are two dashes, there is the main gap. Humpey has five main ones, sometimes four.
Please note that it is on the main gaps that the strongest punting with pits occurs.

Can't the second one be Carabus (Diocarabus) slovtzovi slovtzovi Mannerheim, 1849?

Can't the second one be Carabus (Diocarabus) slovtzovi slovtzovi Mannerheim, 1849?

As an option, perhaps. Although it still seems to me that this is a Carabus (Diocarabus) dorogostaiskii Shil. The base is the shape and sequence of the primary pits, and most importantly, the shape of the posterior and anterior edges of the pronotum.

So it opened here as well. Thank you Ruslan for a detailed description of what and where to count, I'll try to figure it out. And I'll also post 6 in a week. Here, as I understand it, I have all the nominative?

The most beautiful Moldovans? 0_o Thought the eastern ones are prettier - with brighter colors, as well as more often with a bright border. If I'm not mistaken, of course.. And Frivaldski isn't bad either!

So we write excellens okolonominativus
