Perhaps Dasysyrphus venustus
has any opinion or clue on dasysyrphus-s from Van Veen best of all

The key from van Veen (2010) is best, but this is the case when "better" is synonymous with "simpler". Bartsch has good drawings and is generally more reliable (Bartsch & al., 2009), although it does not have D. lenensis. There are still problems with the definition of European D. pauxillus, D. pinastri, D. lenensis and D. nigricornis. I can't tell from the photo - I'm not very familiar with this genus.

26.06.2012 10:13, Pirx

Possibly Dasysyrphus pauxillus May 14, 2011 St. Petersburg

It is defined as Dasysyrphus pinastri but somewhere I saw that pinastry is a synonym for lunulatus? May 29, 2011 St. Petersburg

D. pynastri (De Geer, 1776) = D. lunulatus auct., nec Meigen, 1822
D. venustus (Meigen, 1822) = D. lunulatus (Meigen, 1822) syn.

I don't know what that buzzing sound was. If you don't mind, please help me identify it. It looks a little like it, but it's too red. Moscow region, June 28, in the colony of burrowing wasps.

By the way, it's a pity, because the family is interesting, especially funny which are black with a short proboscis

Thank you very much! All my photos are linked to the map with an accuracy of one meter. I don't collect anything - I only shoot photos in my area and display them on Yandex.I also created and maintain two general information sites about local birds and insects. Thanks! This is the southernmost point of the discovery of this species in the Northern Azov region. All the previous ones were located within the Donetsk Ridge.

Thanks! I reviewed it, but I didn't find anything similar. It is not clear even with the genus. It seems to be tribus Villini

Hello!
Now I'm sorting out what fell into the lampshade-there's a lot of stuff there... A few diptera especially interested, tell me:
1) picture: DSC00067.JPG
2) picture: DSC00068.JPG

2 more flies, now from nature. Both were shot in early July in the south of the Rivne region (Ukraine). Who are they?:
1) picture: 1.JPG
2) picture: 2.JPG
I also hope for at least some hints to the previous post...

I am not a dipterologist, but today in Zhukovsky Park (Moscow region)I found a lot of mines on the nedotroga, which, except for Phytoliriomyza melampyga, cannot be determined. I don't know how interesting this is, but it doesn't seem to be in the green identifier (or is it something else?).

One to one like this:

It seems that this is not a dipter, but some kind of rider. It should be moved to the topic "Definition of hymenoptera"

Syrphus ribesii ??

Today, these flies appeared on the balcony, one in the morning, the second in the evening. Apparently a male and female of the same species. Quite large, both 1.6 cm. On Syrphus sp. it does not seem to be similar, it is somewhat larger and the pattern on the abdomen is slightly different.
