Good afternoon! Is it possible to determine the type of snow gnats? Is it a female and a male?

No, this is definitely not a male and female of the same species. The first is definitely Trichoceridae, the second is highly doubtful.

Is this just how your pictures look for me?

This is exactly what it looks like, although I don't know why, it doesn't seem to have happened before.
And it didn't work out to catch her alive, it was too small an infection, I wanted to turn her over and completely smeared her..
Thanks! Probably similar to the photo you showed smile.gif

Yes, - previously, huge photos looked like huge framed thumbnails that fit into the screen.
- And you, in this case, reduce the size to 1000 Mp on the long side; otherwise, even the buttons are hidden! frown.gif

I used to define our northern mottledwing species. It was a long time ago, I can't say for sure, but I remember there you need to see and count a variety of bristles on the head and srednespinke. According to the photo, probably not very much, although a real pro probably can.

About straightening, I remember that it is better to stick a pin not in the middle of the middle back, but on the side. So that the bristles of one half are visible
