Perm Region, the caterpillar is about 4 cm. Is it possible to determine what kind of view? Something made of mother-of-pearl? There is a lot of flying evfrosin, ataliy and shashechnits.
I shot such caterpillars in mid-June on a dog violet, and only on it and only at dusk, after sunset. I never saw it during the day, although I was looking for it.
The other day I found a caterpillar preparing for pupation. The first picture was taken in the evening, the other two the next morning. Thank you in advance!

2. On the willow tree. Why is she so unwell?

I can't answer that. Because I just wanted to know:
How to distinguish harpies of different species at the caterpillar stage?
Are there any specific features of this or that species?
The question is naturally not to angelo, but to the experts (if any)
By the way, this year there are just a lot of harpy caterpillars.... And swallowtails fly in packs! (in Ramenskoye district, Chulkovo village)

Good evening! I'm sorry if I already did... Taken on Sosna yesterday, July 2. Moscow region, Istra district. The size is insignificant-7-8 mm. In my heart I hope that this is a pine hawk moth, then I will bring it out! smile.gif

And what if the chrysalis wasn't in the sholkov cocoon? In my opinion, silkworms have a smaller cupod.

In general, this is volnyanka, it has nothing to do with cocoonworms, just a Russian name. The female pupa is several times larger than the male.

Whose goose is it anyway? confused.gif
Are you sure we don't have Lycia lapponaria? Otherwise, this caterpillar is most similar to it, and not to hirtaria, or pomonaria.
On ukleps.org in any case, it is lapponaria that is most suitable for it. And hirtaria I came across, as a rule, more maroon.

Makhaonov and I in my Dmitrov district for the first time in four years saw! smile.gif

About harpies - I tried by the tree on which I found it, and by the width of the light stripes. But it seems that everything is different on different identification sites.. confused.gif frown.gif So a specialist is needed! smile.gif
