Ch. aenea can be called "golden alder leaf beetle" or simply "alder leaf beetle", but the first name is preferable to avoid confusion, since Agelastica alni is also called alder leaf beetle.

Then, I'll describe it. Chrysolina polita is brown with a golden head. I often find it in the shadows. And Chrysomela aenea I may not have identified correctly, I find it constantly on juicy grass that smells like mint, this leaf beetle is very similar to Chrysomela aenea, but I don't think it's him since he's alder.

Well, if on mint, then definitely not Chrysomela aenea. Rather, it is Chrysolina fastuosa.
In general, why use Russian names? Latin is more reliable and convenient in our business.

Chrysolina fastuosa is a clear-flowered leaf beetle

Well I do not know... Yasnotku, of course, this beast eats well, but in all sorts of popular books usually highlight its bright shine (shiny, gorgeous).
In short, Latin and Latin again!!!!

The Latin name of the species is Chrysolina globipennis. For the genus Chrysolina, the Russian name is "grass leaf beetles". I didn't find the Russian name, the literal translation from Latin is "ball - winged". And here's how I was able to solve "z#leyuyysher uyyusshyaheeshe" - let it remain a small secret cool.gif

good day everyone! Citizens entomologists ask for more help in the Russian names of some leaf beetles and weevils Timarcha tenebricosa and Clytra laeviuscula but the clytra is not 4-spotted it is completely different, more rounded and more shiny. The weevil Hylobius transversovittatus is very similar to big pine and Lparus dirus I translated as black weevil may not be correct.

Why invent names? see how beautiful it sounds!

What is this page used for? We-entomologists, professionals or amateurs for themselves will hang up the tag in Latin, and ordinary people are interested in simpler names(Russian if they exist) I am often asked the question, are the beetles local? Local people! So say it in Russian and don't be smart, and you won't prove to them that Latin is correct!

Do you collect insects for yourself, or for someone else, for the sake of show-offs?

Do you collect insects for yourself, or for someone else, for the sake of show-offs?

And your collection is kept in dark boxes and you don't show it to anyone? Probably your friends, acquaintances, etc. are not interested in your hobby?

Who can tell you the Russian name of the Gasteruption jacuator rider?

Who can tell you the Russian name of the Gasteruption jacuator rider?

Correct, generally accepted Russian names for the vast majority of insect species do not exist. Well, you can call it gasteruption (gasteruption) sagittarius. But who needs it? Knowledgeable people do not need this, and far from entomology ordinary people - even more so. For them, it is enough to say that this is one of the types of riders.

the ejaculator rider also shoots eggs on the fly
