The season of hunting for butterflies in the Moscow region has begun

Community and ForumEntomological collectionsThe season of hunting for butterflies in the Moscow region has begun

Sergey Didenko, 28.02.2008 12:09

Hurray! On the night of February 26-27, I saw the first butterfly of the year. Obviously, the night under the DRL-400 lamp. Soon, in terms of butterfly summer and for Moscow, you will need to specify the month of February, just like in Europe! The next night, there were already many, though quite banal, wintering scoops (see photos).
Who else has opened the season join us and share the good news.

I'll have to wander around too...
I want to add an instance to the collection... Even if it's banal...
But with a nice label!
Can I ask you a question??? Where did you find the DRL 400 lantern in Moscow???
And the airfield?

28.02.2008 12:41, Sergey Didenko

The fact is that I have a private house 2 km behind the Moscow Ring Road, but Moscow. Plot of 25 acres, here on my site I have a lantern and hangs.

28.02.2008 17:16, Zhuk

Wow! Damn it! Everything, you need to hang the fountain....

28.02.2008 17:31, americanecz

First of all, you need a private house! Yes, and near Moscow...
And then the lantern... wink.gif

Well I'm still going to parrot people from bolkon smile.gif
Like warming will be....

28.02.2008 18:06, Sergey Didenko

There are a lot of disadvantages near Moscow: bright street lighting, little vegetation, a lot of dirt. When I go to a dacha 100 km from Moscow, the catches are incomparably higher.

28.02.2008 18:09, Zhuk

Well, this is understandable. I'll get out soon smile.gif

28.02.2008 18:48, americanecz

to Zhuk:
What metro station do you live near???
And on what floor???
Yes!
Do you remember when you suggested fishing together? Not ripe yet???

28.02.2008 19:02, Sergey Didenko

I'm going on a fishing trip to Akhtuba in late April or early May, but in addition to fishing, of course, the main thing is that I'm going to catch butterflies, does anyone know what you can really catch there that doesn't fly in the Moscow region?

28.02.2008 19:04, americanecz

It's rich in beetles...
And the butterflies... I think Scavenger flies stupidly... Prada isn't sure...

28.02.2008 19:21, Sergey Didenko

Served very well, though he seems to be starting to fly there from the second decade of May, but I'm more interested in what is valuable from the night, though... I'll come catch it and see it.

28.02.2008 19:22, Sergey Didenko

But hasn't anyone caught anything yet????

28.02.2008 23:34, Tyomochkin

And by the way, what kind of scoop!? In the first post!

29.02.2008 9:48, Sergey Didenko

The scoops in the pictures belong to the genus of poorly distinguishable flat-bodied scoops Conistra sp., most likely Conistra vaccinii Linn. By the way, tonight they flew even more...

It's kind of warmer here!!!?

29.02.2008 20:08, Cosmos

Is there such a scoop - Vaknoza letela ?

29.02.2008 21:23, Sergey Didenko

Depending on which window flew in, if on the balcony next to the lantern, then Zhuk knows best...

01.03.2008 0:02, RippeR

figase, it would be necessary to turn it on with us..

01.03.2008 9:10, Sergey Didenko

Yes, in Moldova, probably in full swing years goes, out in the Crimea, if the whiteflies got out...

01.03.2008 9:25, RippeR

it would only be where to turn on..

01.03.2008 9:38, Sergey Didenko

The main thing is desire! Tonight in Moscow, they promise +3, and I've recovered from the flu, so I'll definitely catch it a little longer, maybe some moths will appear.

01.03.2008 11:03, Zhuk

Damn, it's even cold in the north of Moscow...snow fellfrown.gif

01.03.2008 12:01, Tyomochkin

Yeah! It's also snowing in Altufevo... And if you catch the lamp from the balcony, on the third floor there will be norms!?

01.03.2008 12:31, americanecz

to Tyomockin:
And I have here is stayalo all!
By the way! I was fishing from the tenth floor that year in May and June!
On butterflies scoops alone and small moth...
But there are different bedbugs... Full balcony!!!
I was surprised! Even a few barbels flew in! I'm not really into beetles...
Lemon yellow such on the elytra on three black dots cm 2 with a small length! They look like leptur!

01.03.2008 12:36, americanecz

Here's a picture of Entalex and found something similar...

Today, after sunset, they will definitely fly. The day is warm, the sun was shining, now it is plus 5, after sunset it will be 2-3 degrees, this is quite enough. All on THE HUNT!

01.03.2008 19:20, Konung

Yeah! It's also snowing in Altufevo... And if you catch the lamp from the balcony, on the third floor there will be norms!?

Last season I fished at night on DRV-250 and DRV-500 from the 9th floor. Everything flew and very well! There were also cocoonworms, hawk moth, scoops, moth moth, volnyanki, many micras, etc.

01.03.2008 19:49, mems

And I have a small private house, we don't live there, so I'm thinking of setting up a hunting headquarters.
By the way, the day before yesterday a hawk moth was seen in the entrance, a small onesmile.gif
And as for bedbugs, yes! I also have a lot of them on the eighth floor:
I fought back with my racket smile.gif

We have a forest 200m from the house across the river, and I'm thinking of setting bug traps.
I just don't know, maybe it's too early...
what do you think?

01.03.2008 20:17, Zhuk

Last year, I had a lot of different shovels and moths flying on 250 to the 3rd floor + more woodworms and various beetles. So that norms) Tomorrow postorayus post)

02.03.2008 9:12, Sergey Didenko

Damn, greed...In general, I replaced 400 with 700 as a result, I drank all the beer in 4 hours, but I didn't see any butterflies. Still DRL-700 is too much.

02.03.2008 15:41, americanecz

lol.gif
I also have seven hundred lying around broken!!!
One krutansky trapper advised!!!
And I'm a 15-year-old kid who fell for it... ran and bought!!!
Because of this lantern, I drove all the animals around the site!!!
The neighbors shied away!!! I went and bought 250 and 400...
Then everything fell into place! Here in the forest now with 250 I go, on the site and from the balcony on 400 I catch!!!
Really 700 is too much...
And the throttle from it is too heavy...

Who's with beer for butterflies?
Coordination and concentration - tut-tut. smile.gif

02.03.2008 19:19, americanecz

Morozzz !!! FI-I!!!!
How can... Night fishing... And no alcohol!!!
Okay, when rushing out of all the cracks!!! And when you wait quietly... Then God himself ordered...
In the daytime, of course, it's a different matter... If it gets warm in the sun ... U-u-u-u...

It depends on how much beer smile.gif

02.03.2008 22:01, Pavel Morozov

no.gif Uh, no, guys. It's either one or the other.
This is the most, I mean, alcohol, better after sometime.

And in general, while you wait so calmly, you will fall asleep nafig! umnik.gif

Et, once in Primorye was. Just a bottle of Amstel, and such a laxity arose, by two o'clock in the morning I took it, and went to bed. I still blame myself for this.

02.03.2008 22:17, Pavel Morozov

Although, if we are talking about night fishing in the cold season or just on a cold night, you can shun 30 grams of cognac "for snowdrift". beer.gif
Personally practiced. After a glass, you can drink a good strong black tea (preferably freshly brewed large-leaved). After all, why did black tea take root better in Russia? Because it has a more pronounced warming effect.
And now about the beginning of the season.
Since there are usually quite cool nights at the beginning of the season, I think it's worth writing the following. This may not be new, but it is useful to remind and recommend it to everyone.
The kettle (if electric) can be connected to the carrier, from which the lamp, etc.).
It is better to dress as follows: on a sweater - some insulated vest on a sintepon (these are very inexpensive to sell in workwear stores, not necessarily in Columbia).
As a doctor, I advise you to wear something like a colson under your pants. The prospect of chronic prostatitis in the male half of the forum and salpingoophoritis and cystitis in the female half is not worth a couple of extra copies on the screen.
It is better to put on rubber boots with warm insoles or warm socks. Cooling the legs leads to a reflex slowing of blood flow in the respiratory system.
Well, of course, be careful with the lamp.
I don't know why or why I wrote this, but I hope it's not for nothing.
Also, I hope I didn't sound boring shuffle.gif
