Lobocla bifasciatus
Primorsky Krai, Khasansky district, Vityaz Bay, 21.07.2006.
So frisky butterfly that you barely have time to swing the net. In the bag, the net remains very mobile, which is why the butterfly is easily wiped off.

Aeromachus inachus
Primorsky Krai, Khasansky district, forest road Andreevka-Vityaz, 21.07.2006.
A small and inconspicuous butterfly. It flies above the ground, often sits down and drinks moisture. I caught them very funny: I quickly ran along the road puddle, holding the net low, as a result of which a couple of butterflies were caught.

Here are two cool species of the Far Eastern silverhead - Pyrgus schansiensis (Reverdin, 1915) and P. speyeri (Staudinger, 1887). These are two very similar species, and therefore they are given here together for comparison. The first species is rare and local, found only in a few places in the south of the Amur region, the west of Primorye and the east of Transbaikalia, but the second is often found in its characteristic habitats-in xerophytic meadows throughout the south of the Far East. These species differ in appearance mainly only in size (P. schansiensis is much larger than P. speyeri). Some researchers consider P. schansiensis to be a separate subspecies of P. alveus, which is incorrect, since these species differ very well from each other (especially in genitalia). This is well described in the article by A. N. Streltsov (1995). And, by the way, in Transbaikalia, all 3 species live - another fact in favor of the independence of these species.

Here are the labels for my instances:
Pyrgus schansiensis (Reverdin, 1915) - male, Amur region, Raichikhinsk settlement. Novoraychikhinsk, 8.07.2007 (this is, by the way, a new point in the range of the species smile.gif)
P. speyeri (Staudinger, 1887) - male, Khabarovsk Krai, Khabarovsk, 2.08.2003.

with my money, the situation is different, does not fit the description.. All 4 of my armoricanus with brownish clubs on the bottom, and the only serratule with white.. But he's definitely not Alveus or Armoricanus.. In general, it would be necessary to double-check this view, Maybe tomorrow I'll post a photo.

People!
If anyone is poking around in Pyrgus, please help!
I can add from Gorbunov (2001):

alveus: antistyle wide with teeth at margin
armoricanus: antystyle narrow, curved at apex, with few teeth

According to this feature, it also turns out that the 1st one is alveus.

But I'm not a "specialist" at all. wink.gif

PS: I would not trust Nekrutenko as the ultimate truth.

PPS: The drawing is very cool! smile.gif

The specimen belongs, in my opinion, to P. armoricanus.
The main difference is in the shape of the valva.
