Is he the one who's not in the tar?" They haven't tried to take it off, it feels like it's frozen on his mandibles. Or was his jaw even broken?

Resin in the surrounding area is not visible-the fourth floor and an apartment without resin, Cheslovo. smile.gif I saw him in this form right on the table in front of my nose, either flew in, or crawled. When I started taking pictures, I noticed this "bubble". It seems that it is "inflated" from the inside. Then a little deflated, it was not so glossy.

I don't know anything about the jaws, I haven't tried to remove them, I'm afraid redface.gifit's still lying dead with a bubble. I'm not so afraid now. Should I go pick something out?..

For the sake of interest, you can try and pick it out, otherwise your hands "itch" beer.gif

The "bubble" recovered easily. There are jaws under it, but it seems that this" tar " has been squeezed out from the inside. It is visible there and deeper under the jaws.

it turns out that the liquid was released from the beetle, and what could it be? Maybe he got a sting from some wasp, but by coincidence he got to you and was not completely immobilized and did not get into the cradle of a future new life as a live canned food? And so the mysterious drop is nothing more than his own hemolymph. jump.gif

Maybe just solidified intestinal juice?

The bug got lost, didn't mind posing under the lamps.

Darwin, NT, Australia. May.

Scarabaeidae exactly, but the subfamily I can't say, maybe some endemic to Australia.

The beetle is very funny to fold and unfold. At first I thought that he didn't have any eyes at all, but then I saw that they were there, I just had to wait. smile.gif

Then perhaps it is the subfamily Ceratocanthinae
