I suggest that the title of the topic will add as a subtitle- "what are the origins of this nonsense". As in the next topic about KK lol.gif

It's a bad idea, but it's not a sin. The church deals with sin issues, not entomology...

Yes, butterflies are just great! But also striking is the number of this mass grave(and indeed-not only relatives in the family, but also brothers and sisters). Why dozens of them?Places are a pity, and mother nature....

Or maybe they were caught in different years... Or series for the museum, etc.

No, Morozzz, you can't be so equal.I will not hide,I also catch a lot.But I don't display everything.3-4 copies, the rest is for exchange.

AntSkr:if I was sure that for the museum lol.gif

Or for sale... I myself collect series by individual families (and subfamilies) that are more interesting, as well as rare species... Recently, P. plumigera caught 12 pieces in a collection. It is especially interesting to put changeable species in the series.

Changeable-yes!But what I saw was dozens of twins and clones. The straightened material is also not available for sale.Okay, what am I doing?!A personal matter for everyone. But don't teach young people anything bad!!! moderator.gif

That's what I thought earlier, too. I collected two or three butterflies from each species. Such a system is not very suitable for studying, say, twin species.
I have seen quite large domestic private meetings, where everything is arranged in dozens and hundreds.
But also the smallest (and correctly designed) collection is a scientific work.

This bazaar must be moved somewhere else, so as not to spoil such a cool topic. The moderator will sort it out.
Morozzz, I can't agree more.To study, really 3-4 is not enough.I was in this position myself.Yes, and for a new species-a subspecies is not enough. But how many of us are engaged in studying?!A survey on the topic "who collects butterflies and why", I think, gave the answer.
