How to go to Primorye?

Here I think - on the one hand-you spend a lot of money, and on the other hand-such impressions, fishing, beautiful places and much more. What else can you spend your accumulated money on? Where else can I get my vitality from? Here in the summer I went back and forth, caught-was happy, but winter came, so generally rotting from the inside-there is nowhere to go, there is nothing to catch, there is something to straighten, but there are no pins, and soon the material for straightening will also end weep.gifIf only I could go anywhere, catch at least something, or at least see experts, swap, chat.. eeeeeehhhh. So you still need to think - what is better than 1000 bucks for some nonsense like improving the computer, not really necessary household utensils that will not give happiness or a great trip that will leave wonderful memories, and perhaps also the most excellent material that can pay off with interest smile.gif

to Juglans: Isn't this the same place as in my photo?
Risovaya Bay.

By the way, pins are sold on one well-known site. if you are interested, there is an address.

Yes, it turns out to be the same thing. There is no official name "Rice", but perhaps the locals call this cove that (I just wasn't interested). Of course, you know that Peter the Great Bay has a complex division system: there are second-order bays (this place is part of Posyeta Bay), first-order bays (this is Trinity Bay), and second-order bays that usually don't have names.

I would like to note that local entomologists have recently been increasingly looking for rare and new species where unusual plants grow. It is well known that the large variety of butterflies and beetles in the Khasan region is associated with a rich dendroflora. It is there that the jagged oak comes in from the south, and the Mongolian oak from the north. A few years ago, lepidopterologist E. A. Belyaev discovered a new species of oak for our flora - Q. wutaishanica, and not in the Khasansky district, but to the north. Not so long ago, a new species of ash tree was discovered and described on the island of Putyatina. Accordingly, the finds of entomofauna in these places are interesting. However, this is what is called "aerobatics", which is available to a few.

RippeR, what prevents you from going out into nature and picking up wintering insects? If not butterflies, then beetles. For example, I go out to nature almost every weekend-and not for nothing. During this winter-a seemingly dead time for an entomologist - I have already caught several very interesting species.

P.S. Sorry for the offtopic.

2 Juglans, I apologize for the off-top, and in the photo the bay is not near the MES Tibocha? Similar.

So far, nothing has been heard about changes in arrival in Primorye. I think that the changes will be minimal. It is not necessary to go to the border areas-last year students in the area of the Lazovsky Reserve caught two danaids.

Isn't this considered a border area? There's a border post right next to it, isn't there?! And about Danaid-this year they caught MUCH more. With the number now I'm afraid to lie, because I actually did not count them, but not less than 10, in any case. And this is only in our race (biologists + biochemists). After us, there were still ecologists, who knows, maybe they caught something (if, of course, these butterflies still fly in August).

Actually, in my picture Andreevka.

I was referring to the place that Juglans was talking about. Since he said that students were caught, I strongly suspect that we are talking about a summer practice near Kievka.

24.12.2006 14:46, Juglans

Julia
's photo referred to a completely different place, Trinity Bay. And Danaida was really caught in Kievka. So there were a lot of them this year? Amazing!

For those who are going to Primorye: local authorities have asked the Ministry of Defense not to prohibit free movement in the 5-kilometer coastal zone throughout the region.

Dear forumchane!
We are going to the south of the Far East in August. No one from the band has ever been there before. The purpose of the trip is to relax, explore nature and catch insects. There are a lot of interesting places there, but you can't do everything in 3 weeks... I am currently developing a route, and I would like to hear your competent opinion: what are the most interesting places in entomological, botanical and recreational terms? How much official stay in nature reserves is possible? How
are problems with border guards solved, what vaccinations are needed, and how dangerous is the local fauna (animals, cottonmouths, and humanssmile.gif)?
I will be glad to receive any of your advice and links on the Internet.
I have planned the following protected areas for myself: Khasansky Nature Park,
Kedrovaya Pad, Ussuriysky and Lazovsky Nature Reserves, Barsovy Nature Reserve, to a lesser
extent Khankai and Marine Nature Reserves, and possibly some
islands. I would be grateful if you could comment on this and give
me some other advice.

Among insects, I am interested in beetles, especially rare lamellidae
(bronzes, osmoderms, Eophileurus chinensis, various hornbills, etc.),
ground beetles, barbels (including Callipogon), relict cockroach, grylloblattids, to a lesser extent everything
else. I am not a collector, I am engaged in keeping and breeding
invertebrates, including bird-eating spiders, tropical bronzes,
rhinos, hornbills, cockroaches, stick insects, etc. From this point of view
, it would be interesting to introduce some rare Far Eastern species into the culture.
I would really appreciate your help.

Vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis.
There are also cottonmouths and vipers. There are especially many cottonmouds in the area of Kedrovaya Pad and Barsovoye.
The presence of" outsiders " in nature reserves is now (as far as I know) not very welcome.
Everything was always swarming (from insects) in Barabash-Levada (Borderline ROC).

Thanks!
We have tick-borne encephalitis. I would like to know about the need to do tularemia, etc. diseases spread by rodents. I also heard about a certain mosquito encephalitis... How does vaccination combine with tick-borne vaccination?

How dangerous are snake bites and what is recommended in such cases? Which stations do they prefer?

Regarding the nature reserves: we will have official business trips and a cover letter from the university, and as I was told, we should not be denied a visit... I tried writing to nature reserves, but their mailboxes are buggy. I'll probably have to make a phone call... Why is your stay not welcome? It's not the first time I've heard this...

If it doesn't work out with the nature reserves, I would like to outline some interesting places outside the protected areas, so as not to be left to cook at the Cedar Paddy cordon or the Ussuri Nature Reservesmile.gif. One already exists thanks to Morozzz.

25.05.2007 21:11, Pavel Morozov

By the way, where is Juglans on our forum?
Where did he go?
It is he who can tell you a lot about Primorye.

30.05.2007 12:16, Kruff

I have already written to him a long time ago, but he does not respond... frown.gif Is there really no one else to speak out? We'll be lost without your help...

30.06.2007 12:26, Onehunter

If it's not too late, ask what you want to know about Primorye. I myself am a former amateur collector (bugger), now I live in Moscow.
I must say right away that the best place to visit is the village of Kamenushka in the Ussuri district (actually where the Ussuri Nature Reserve is located). In Soviet times, people from all over Russia (and not only) were attracted by the wave, it was impossible to surprise the locals with a group of people waving nets, especially since in this village there was one interesting organization - the Far Eastern Collection Shop (DVTSS), number 4, which horseradish knows for what purposes annually mowed down certain types of insects by thousands according to the plan.
Recently (10 years ago) visitors are not noticeable, it's not the right time, but there are no problems with accommodation in order to arrange a visit to the reserve. The only thing is that in a number of areas of forest roads, any local steepness led by the governor has built up their hunting grounds and it's better not to go there, they can give a kick, but otherwise it's fine.
There are also good places near the Lazovsky Reserve, Cedar Paddy (Barabash, Venevitinovo) and in the very center - Chuguevsky district (Samara, etc.). Of course, it all depends on what species you plan to hunt.

This year on the entire southern coast of Primorye abnormally cold July: t 16-18, wet. The flight is bad. The rest of Primorye is warm.

26.10.2007 16:31, Kruff

We had a very successful trip, visited Popova Island, the Mountain Taiga Station, the Ussuri Nature Reserve, the Gamova Peninsula and Cedar Paddy. Everyone was satisfied with the trip! Thank you for your help!

26.10.2007 20:10, RippeR

Can I tell you more about the trip? What was caught, what was seen?

29.10.2007 18:04, Kruff

Actually, my fees for this season can be estimated in the Coleoptera varia theme created by mikeprid. And so much was seen that there is no way to describe everythingeek.gif. I would like to hear more specific questions.

In the photo, a view from the Sukhorechensky ridge, zap. Cedar Pad.

Whoever's talking.. And all of molbiol, who is the soul of rastravilu?? Vaughn, because of this, the man himself was not too lazy to go to the yard smile.gif

Kruff:
The material is wonderful! This is how much time is collected, how many different locations?

29.10.2007 22:19, Grigory Grigoryev

"not too lazy" does not fit, rather "did not spare any money!" And you did the right thing!

30.10.2007 11:48, Kruff

Yes, it took a lot of money, although the round trip was only 600 bucks, but I went with a girl, and this, you know, is an additional expense... shuffle.gif Of course, I don't regret anything, especially since the trip paid for itself quite well. Next year we are going to Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands!

There were 20 days in the Far East, I collected on Popov Island (very sparsely, as one would expect), at the Mountain Taiga station near Ussuriysk, on the Gamov Peninsula and in Kedrovaya Pad. On Gornotaezhke I managed to catch a couple of nights on a light trap, I must admit, after that hanging up a lamp in the Leningrad region is somehow depressing... frown.gif

The 1st photo is no worse - but you still need to collect all this from the screen, and then straighten it out...

Everything is clear. Save up every thousand (I won't say how much, write in PM and ask, it all depends on the goal) N-tsat-desyat. Collect information. Get vaccinated against encephalitis in the spring. Stack mattresses, lots of mattresses, lots of mattresses.

Well, personally, I won't make a wish, but it doesn't hurt to dream. It's bad not to dream.

30.10.2007 23:54, Pavel Morozov

It is an indescribable pleasure to spread it all out in winter.

Please tell us: Have you discovered a special way to "get" to the Southern Kuril Islands (Kunashir? Iturup?) or are these just plans? My question is not idle: getting there is EXTREMELY difficult (and expensive) even for those who live on the mainland of the Far East. But perhaps there is some "roundabout" way...

Alas, in the trail. This year, rapid construction begins on Russky Island (it is near Popov, but the nature on it is richer). From the available and large islands, only Putyatin remains
.
P.S. According to our entomologists, one of the interesting places in the Far East is the EAO, and specifically the Bastak nature reserve.

Morozzz:
If the road can cost 600 b.., how much will it take to live there? I'm not whimsical, even in Moscow I managed not to spend much, and then...
You just have to think about who to visit rolleyes.gif

31.10.2007 10:37, Grigory Grigoryev

The cost of delivering "yourself beloved", for example, to Vladik, can be very different.
So these 600 ...... are not an indicator.
It is better to fly the same airline back and forth - there may be a discount.
For the first time, just one point with the ability to turn on the light is enough. However, many interesting daytime views will not be available, mostly mass ones.
Driving for a period of more than 3 weeks is difficult - there is too much material, it takes a long time to process it, and you should not forget the possibility of moldy conditions. I want to point out that you need to catch the light from dusk to dawn if you want to catch the fauna. It happens that females arrive at the light at dusk, and males at dawn. Not to mention the summer of different species at different times of the day. If you are also interested in daytime butterflies, then this mode can not be sustained, you will have to compromise. I need to sleep sometime! Almost everyone chooses July for the first time when to go. This may be true. It depends on what interests you. It would not be bad to find out the phases of the moon for the period intended for the trip.
My advice is that you can't catch everything: beetles, diurnal beetles, moths, dustpans, and search for caterpillars, etc.You will bury yourself, and the result will be "chaynikovsky", because there is not enough head and hands for everything.

GOOD luck in fulfilling your dreams!

No, Omar, you are not the only one, and for me, too, the Moscow Region, for example, is shamefully little studied compared to European countries. Complete lists for many bug groups are either not present or very old.
So there's plenty of faunal work to do. It's another matter if you just want to look at new places (or "stumble" on new, undescribed views).
