Please help, for the second week now we can't sleep properly, we sleep in the light. Curled beetles, black, about the size of cockroaches ~1cm, fly, hard, the first time you can not kill, run fast. They climb out in the evening, run along the walls, on the floor and ceiling, fall on the bed. The house is wooden, built 2 years ago, recently floored and made ceiling. The second floor is not completely sewn up, you can get into the house, the basement is damp. There was nothing like it that year. A neighbor blurted out that it was a barbel, so I worried for several days until I realized that he didn't seem to look like a barbel. At night, up to 15 pieces can be killed, 5 will escape and so on for the second week. ((I feel sorry for the child, and I don't like it myself. On the second frame, the wife caught, the second time they come across, apparently already a mustache or not?
What kind of animal, how to get rid of it, where it came from, harmful or useful, any information.

The picture of the barbel was taken: 19.06.13, Vladimir region, Kolchuginsky district, Barykino village, on the map: link

Thank you.

In the first photo, some ground beetle (not a specialist in them, but the beetle is harmless in my opinion).
But on the second male Black fir barbel Monochamus urussovi (Fischer von Waldheim, 1806) . The beetle in my area develops mainly in spruce wood. Check your house, and maybe they fly in from the forest. And don't forget to specify the date and geography of the image: this is very important for determining.

in the first photo, a ground beetle, most likely from the genus Harpalus, is a useful beetle. it's just that they are now active years old and they fly to your light and, without turning it off, you only attract them more

ground beetles, by the way, are pretty scratched if they fall behind the gate!

Good afternoon! Can you tell me who it is?? We live in a house made of glued beams. The house is worth the second year, we live permanently for the first year. About 2-3 weeks ago, they suddenly began to find black beetles with a cinnamon stripe in the rooms and there are such caterpillars nearby, they can be large, they can be smaller and nearby ( such a feeling) that their babies are little caterpillars. Every day we clean up, kill, they appear every day (((most of all in the room on the south side, under the windows they pile up. Help me figure out who they are and how to get rid of them??

19.06.2013 18:00, Tanya01

Oh, I can't insert a photo from my iPad ((can you tell me how?

Turn out.
The photo is not important, and it will not be better from the gadget.
It seems to me that this is the larva of a beetle from the family Kozheedy. Google them. Request form: Dermestidae smile.gif

Are they dangerous? Where did they suddenly come from? How to destroy it?? I'm terribly afraid of them ((thank you!

Read it or look through this topic: the question has already been raised many times. In general: the neighbors are unpleasant, but unfortunately ordinary in a human dwelling.

Someone from "Pill wasps" And this very "cocoon", which has the shape of a pitcher, is her nest.
Some species that catches spiders and feeds them to their larvae in the nest.

Hello my name is Dmitry, I have a problem in my apartment, presumably got chicken ticks. I find a second tick in the bathroom. Size in length 6 mm, flat, pear-shaped, 4 pairs of paws, color: translucent with gray spots.
I live in an apartment building. We have nests of swallows on our open balconies, probably from them they crawl into the apartment?!
Judging by the descriptions, the size of the chicken mite Dermanyssus gallinae is 0.7 mm.
Another species of Dermanyssus hirundinis (according to descriptions) reaches a size of 1.2 mm and is brown in color and lives in the nests of swallows.
I have a question what kind of parasite has settled in me? Can bird mites grow to such a large size? How much time do they need (did they spend the winter in the apartment last summer?). Do they pose a danger to the family? Feeding on human blood they bite into the skin and stay under the skin for a long time? Or can they bite at night and crawl away after a short time?
I ask for recommendations on how to deal with them? Thank you in advance for your help!

Good day, forumchane! About 4 months ago, I started storing my new sneakers in the hallway on the floor. The floor in the corridor is made of planks. We live in a 4-storey building on the 4th floor in the city. That is, after I started storing my sneakers in the hallway, "tenants" began to appear under them in lengths from 0.1 mm to 5 mm. They do not jump, do not bite, but only crawl, yes, and very quickly. As soon as I pick up my sneakers, they try to find a dark place as quickly as possible and run away into the cracks in the boards. Help us determine the appearance of these "homeless people"using the photos attached to this message. smile.gif

Hello. Yesterday I found a beetle, just like a ground beetle, but I didn't figure out what it was( There is a pink and purple border all over the body. I think it's a garden beetle, but is it the right one?
Thanks)

If this is not one border, but two on each side, and they go along the edge, then this is true and there is a Karabus nemoralis.

Stopudovye larvae of beetles from the extensive family of skin-eating beetles: Lat. Dermestidae. You can be sure of that.

Hello, dear specialists. Please help me identify the insect.
Found in an apartment in which no one lived for some time (but clean and dry like). They crawl out of the joints of the tiles next to the balcony. Size 1, maximum 1.5 millimeters (if less than a millimeter copies), color gray (in the photo for some reason came out brown). They freeze when I approach. They jump away (sort of) when I try to crush them. They run fast.

Hello. I am writing to you with a big problem. There is a woman who lives in the village, chickens, grain. For the third summer in a row, she is overwhelmed by strange insects, light brown in color, choking easily. They cause itching, rather from crawling, because the skin of both the head and body is clean. When this problem first occurred, I thought it was lice. What only was not poisoned, kerosene, dichlorvos, did not help. Called the SES. They said it was a grain mite. A sofa, bedspread, and carpets were burned out of the house. The house is treated with some kind of poison. The old grain was thrown out, and the house was cleared away. With the onset of coolness, it was all over. And here it is again summer and again it is not clear where they come from. Help me identify who it is? For what only does not poison a woman, does not help. It still catches them from somewhere.
I enclose the photo.

Hello!
Super have you Forum, happy, that found!
But my mom took the camera on vacation, and the cell phone has a very bad camera.
I'll try to describe:
lechinka
black
a lot of hairs
size UP TO a centimeter, maybe 7 mm
attached between the walls of the toilet
the house is ordinary, urban, in the toilet tile, clean, but on top live drug addicts-alcoholics + recently there was an overhaul, which only made it worse
From insects: spiders (but I love them), fruit moth at times and brown beetles, you know, the little ones that used to live in my grandmother's flowers, now they also came from somewhere, but they are harmless.
But the larva was alerted. I don't know whether to slap it or leave it...
I have a phobia for insects, but I try not to offend them, but this thing is alarming... maybe she's not the only one...

28.06.2013 10:21, Yolz

I searched on the Net, it seems like this is what it looks like:
http://macroclub.ru/gallery/data/508/5551.jpg
I take it it's a leatherworm?"
Where could it have come from?
So it is necessary to slap the same... and if there is one, then there should be more? О_о"

who is it?

A barbel beetle. The photo is bad: please retake it better and put it in the "Definition of Bugs".
I can add Callidium (Palaeocallidium) coriaceum (Paykull, 1800)
Or Ropalopus sp.

Ropalopus Muls., 1839 is a genus. And this genus is located in the tribe Callidiini Kirby, 1837 a multi-numbered family Cerambycidae Latreille, 1802 or "Barbel Beetles".

On the balcony, at the corners of the windows on the slopes(plastic windows).
pigeons live under the balcony, I suspect that from them.
they even seem to bite. not with the armed eye, just small running black dots.
