can you send these midges? at least crushed? I'll show it to a wasp specialist, and there'll be a chance to find out exactly who it is. I think I'm not the only one interested in this question smile.gif

Yes, in general, I can, probably... Find and photograph, but live is unrealistic, they are microscopic! And on the way "shrinkage, utryaska" generally grindsmile.gif outwardly very similar to the photo gordeys, I'll just add that the color is silver-graphite and the size is 2-3 mm.

Live and don't have to smile.gif
In some plastic box (from under the film, from "Kinder Surprise") filled with cotton wool, etc. Nothing will happen to them, they will not shrink smile.gifAnd the photo will help a little, I think. Write your e-mail, I'll write my email address?

Recently, for no reason at all, when working at a desk, it suddenly began to cause a very unpleasant smell from somewhere, and simply began to stink of shit. And then I saw a bug, and I pressed it down on the table, and the smell increased, and I sniffed it.. Oh my God!!!! my fingers stank like hell!!! the smell of indole.
I barely washed my hands with hot water and soap twice.
After a while, I noticed that they appear in the area of the monitor (apparently they like heat), and then horror in general-they became noticeable in bed (!). Even if they are not pressed, their presence at a distance of 30-40 cm is determined by a strong smell.
Who is it???
And most importantly-how to exterminate them?? confused.gif
I attach photos of these animals, I have already taken dead ones and one live one on a match.
Gentlemen, experts, please help me, otherwise it already seems to me (or maybe it's true) that they bite me at night...

These are some kind of parasitic hymenoptera. They can't pose any danger to you. This is the first time I've ever heard about the smell from them. Can someone in the know clarify the situation? confused.gif

A month ago, a child brought lice and for a month we have been fighting with them with varying success... it seems that they have already won and then the wife finds this insect next to the pillow:
user posted image

She began to panic that this is a large (5-6mm) louse, I had doubts because lice do not seem to jump and do not fly, but this creature has wings and when it jumps, it waves them... then we found another one in my things... In general, what is it? who does it account for lice, what is dangerous, and how to exterminate it?

28.10.2008 1:06, Bad Den

The cicada is. Not dangerous to you or your wife. Exterminate - but it is not necessary, they will die themselves.

Cicadas. They are NOT parasites, feed on plant sap and are not dangerous. You got here by accident smile.gif

28.10.2008 1:09, Kharkovbut

It's a cicada. Knocked up from the street. It has nothing to do with lice. It doesn't do any harm. Relax and forget. smile.gif

And then immediately - destroy, destroy... It's a shame, though... frown.gif

Today, the wallpaper in the corridor was torn off (there is a bath on the opposite side of the wall, probably due to moisture), a piece was torn off, and under them a bunch of insects - small from 1 to 2 mm, oblong, flattened, without wings, transparent or beige, as if they consist of two parts - a small "head" and a larger one "another part of the body", only crawling, like do not jump and do not fly.
Maybe someone knows what it is, please tell me.

28.10.2008 15:16, Bad Den

Photos would be...

28.10.2008 15:53, Optio

I can't take pictures, they're very small, and my camera won't take them. It looks like an ant, but not him.

29.10.2008 9:12, Bad Den

Don't they look like the ones listed here?

Ow, Nata, where did you go? smile.gif

29.10.2008 21:13, guest: AP

Judging by the description, it can be hay eaters, like the book louse (Liposcelis (Troctes) divinatorius) or dust louse (Trogium pulsatorium):

http://img.tfd.com/wn/FD/61863-common-booklouse.gif
http://aramel.free.fr/Trogium-sp.jpg

They are completely harmless and non
-dangerous If they are, please do not kill them, but collect them in a jar or test tube (if possible with a piece of wallpaper...). They are very necessary for studying functional morphology in the framework of an insect miniaturization project.
I am ready to meet you in Moscow at any time.

Does anyone know what kind of insect these larvae are? and where can they come from?
Please help me!

The size is about 4 mm.
Appeared in the kitchen, possibly falling from the ventilation duct. Live, at first white, then gradually dry out and darken.
There is a suspicion that flies, but they say that flies should not have such a pronounced head. What is it?

30.10.2008 21:17, Riton-cytolog

Here it is. We threw it first in alcohol, then in formalin, and its front part swelled up a little. In life, it was flatter and did not shine...

Of course, this is not the larva of a fly, but of a beetle. In my opinion, the grinder larva (Anobiidae).

Many thanks to everyone who responded to the cry for help. Yes, these are really hay eaters. And about to collect in a jar with pieces of wallpaper-is that serious?!

02.11.2008 12:48, guest: AP

Of course, seriously, they are really very urgently needed for a large scientific project.

Naturally, I'm not asking you to break off the wallpaper, but if you collect everyone who runs around in those places where the wallpaper is moving away and put some garbage because of the wallpaper in the jar, it will be just great. If possible, please contact me.

....leatherheads?

More like grinders. Google pictures of Stegobium paniceum (like more similar) or Lasioderma serricorne.

the alarmist is Stegobium paniceum! Watch out!

A long time ago I noticed insects appearing in the bathroom, the shape of the body resembles a scaly fish, but there are no antennae, trouble with the legs, I can't understand whether they have them or not, but the animals run at the speed of a jet plane. When running, slightly wag the body. The body is the color of wet asphalt, shiny, very beautiful. The size is 5 mm somewhere. it is extremely difficult to be afraid of the light and see them, unless they are gawking. As it turned out, they live behind wall tiles. They are most often found on the sink, toilet tank, and generally not far from the tile. One individual drowned in a drop of water in the sink, it was possible to see that the belly has a light color. The creatures are very shy and cute, but please tell me who it is, I will be very grateful. Unfortunately, I can't take a picture, they are too agile.

06.11.2008 17:11, omar

they have legs and antennae. These are scalefish.

06.11.2008 17:13, guest: Светлана

But they do not look like them at all, except for the shape of the body, but they are smaller in size than scales

06.11.2008 17:17, omar

I'll tell you one thing - these are small scales that haven't grown up yet! And how are they fundamentally different from scales?

06.11.2008 17:25, guest: Светлана

The absence of antennae, they also have similar legs as caterpillars. very small in size. they are extremely rare, mostly they manage to escape. By itself, I've never seen a scalefish at all at home, it's dry here. In general, I have seen a lot of photos of scales and still my animals are not at all similar. (

06.11.2008 17:49, omar

In general, scallops rarely grow more than 1 cm in length. Legs like caterpillars-nonsense! How fast would they run on such legs?! I don't believe you about the lack of a mustache smile.gifeither

06.11.2008 17:54, guest: Светлана

Well, I don't know, if ever one of them drowns again, I'll try to take a picture. Because it's impossible to capture the living smile.gif

06.11.2008 18:01, omar

The English call sugar flakes silvery fish.

06.11.2008 18:05, guest: Светлана

I know I know...that's just how to find out who lives here, silver fish or something unknown wall.gif

06.11.2008 18:29, omar

The best way is to take a picture. But, I want to disappoint - the set of similar synanthropes is extremely scarce, so you can hardly count on the description of a new species.

06.11.2008 18:34, guest: Светлана

Well, let's see, it's just that I haven't seen them for a long time. Previously, they often caught the eye, but now they have disappeared. When I found the body of one of them, I never saw it again...they probably started running faster)
