This is a greblyak arrived (at night they fly well to the light, by the way).
Hay eaters also jump on my windowsill and do not complain smile.gif

15.08.2009 14:57, Ben I need Help

Something these hay eaters all seem to have settled this year. How do they get into the house? And we need to fight them or they will die out by winter. And those that are spreading can still settle somewhere other than cereals, for example, behind skirting boards, or in the crevices of frames, window frames, in the sofa, it is half wooden? Where to look and what to process, and then something hesitated already.

Strange insects that periodically appear in the toilet, then in the bathroom, then in the kitchen. Sometimes they get into the bedroom. Light gray color, up to 5-7 mm in length. Does anyone know if they are dangerous and, if possible, how to get rid of them? Thank you so much in advance!

Your neighbor is an insect from the order of bristle-tailed sugar scales (Lepisma saccharina). It does not pose any danger to humans.
If you want to get rid of them-figure out how to lower the humidity in these rooms - these guys love wet and dark places.

23.08.2009 11:57, Dr. Niko

Perhaps they are crawling to you from the neighbors.

Dear forum participants,
I also found your website just to ask for a consultation. The most frightening thing is whether they are dangerous for people, and I have two kids in the house. Please tell me what kind of insect it is and how to deal with it? They appeared unexpectedly, in one evening and a lot (they fly and run fast).

Did you get honey agarics? wink.gif

07.09.2009 9:07, Бублик

Precisely! smile.gif And a lot of them. Who are they? They won't bite us???
Please tell me what to do with them?????

07.09.2009 9:31, Victor Titov

This is the beetle Cychramus variegatus, a very nice companion. He doesn't need you for nothing, he prefers honey mushrooms.
P.S. And what kind of mania do people have, they consider themselves the most delicious in the world, everyone should eat them... lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

07.09.2009 9:35, Victor Titov

By the way, they have nothing to do at home, you just brought them with mushrooms (captured smile.gif). They run fast because they want to be free.

We had a rest in Lazarevskoye (near Sochi). At night, returning home, I saw this spider in the light of a lantern: user posted image
I assume that it is a tarantula, but I'm not sure - there is nothing like this in Moscow, only small wolf spiders...
And what if he did? =)

well, yes, a female tarantula. If it bites, it will swell, hurt, and go away. smile.gif

A tarantula, definitely. When I was on vacation in Anapa, there were a lot of them in the toilet. Pretty peaceful spiders. smile.gif

Please help me.
Pigeons live on our balcony (we have been in this apartment only since June 2009) now we decided to glass the balcony, everything was taken out, cleaned, there was only one nest left, yesterday I threw it out, I look at these beetles there!!!After I threw out the nest, there were a lot of them around the house, mostly on the lid of the aquarium and on the sofa cover made of sheep's skin...

DESCRIPTION: Very small, less than mm, some white, some with dark (I understand those that are less white, grow and darken). they do not bite, only tickle when crawling, do not jump, crawl fast enough, Burst when crushed.

As far as you can see, these are ticks.
I think that they are not dangerous for you (since they do not bite), they "eat" pigeons - and once the pigeons are no longer there , they run, run and die.
But you don't need to crush them - you never know what kind of infection they can carry. By crushing the tick, you get a chance to get infected.

and the fact that some are white and others are black is the same thing?or maybe not?
I ask because I just saw this little white guy with a red belly....maybe they still eat people?scary....

P.I hate pigeons now...but 2 chicks are still sitting, and the day after tomorrow they will come to glass....they should be flying by now, big ones already...and they sit...

White-black - it may well be that different ages, i.e. larvae and adults.
Pigeons in general are not to blame for their parasites gnawing, just do not let them settle on the balcony. smile.gif You are not the first person to suffer from such a neighborhood, see URL #2027

good day!
there is only one hope for you! at one time, thanks to your forum, I got rid of kozheeds (I hope I really got rid of them, and they don't sleep somewhere)...
thank you very much!
so, in the bathroom lives a scaly fish..... the bath itself is plastic, what is being done under it - I don't know, but I assume that it is damp under it - water used to get there when you wash, but then the joints were sealed like... there is a warm floor, sometimes we turn it on... so we went away for a couple of weeks and when I came back, I took my robe, which is hanging on a hook in the bathroom and shook it over the bathroom and saw a bunch of these tiny scales......... what were they doing there??? do they breed there??? why in my dressing gown? I don't mind them running around on the floor, but it's too much in their dressing gowns... proper question: what to do with them? how do I get rid of them? what kind of climate to maintain in the bathroom to make them extinct? should I turn on the underfloor heating or not? Help!!!!!!!!

question two.
on the windowsill in the rooms, on the balcony in old things in the summer, in the bathroom on the wall on the grout between the tiles, in the kitchen, very small ones were seen-less than a millimeter, it seems (but sometimes they are slightly larger than the individual)insects are light (I can't even name the color - some kind of transparent or something, or beige maybe, but it looks like gray ones...) ... they crawl peacefully, are easily crushed by pressing a finger, do not smell.... who is it??? how to fight? where does the SPE come from? how to withdraw money? what are they afraid of?

I will wait for your advice, thank you all very much again!

Lime from the bathroom scales, if they are wound up, is not so easy. Warm and damp - their element wink.gif! They got into the robe, of course, by accident: apparently, the bathroom was not properly ventilated before leaving, the door was closed, the fabric of the robe, as they used to say in Russia, "fell off" (or maybe the robe was still not quite fresh - redface.gifsorry!), so they got there. And the only advice is to keep the bathroom perfectly clean: the bath should be better made of steel or cast iron, access should be provided for periodic thorough cleaning, ventilation in the bathroom should be effective, etc. Well, do not be lazy, clean more often so that the humidity is as low as possible for such a room.

To determine by the description, without an image - it is not a grateful task. Try to " Google "in the Internet "hay eaters", "book lice". It seems to be similar to them...

thank you so much for your reply!

I read on the Internet that the scaler is called sugar because it likes sugar - that is, it eats cotton, paper, glue, etc. could this be the case? just the robe was perfectly fresh, fleshy and smelled nice) but the scales fell out of it just malenikoe-just came into the world).. how do they reproduce? I bred kozheedov by exterminating their larvae, but how to find the larvae of scales? And I also read that they don't like the light - that's not true? can I turn on the bathroom light at night?

and I'll read about the hay eaters right now, thank you very much! is it even realistic to withdraw them? and they only live with me, or is it not uncommon for Moscow apartments?

Well, if the fabric of your robe contains starch or polysaccharides-theoretically possible smile.gif

Scalefish are insects with incomplete transformation. This means that from the eggs laid by the female, larvae come out that are almost similar to adult insects, only that they are not able to reproduce for the time smile.gifbeing, and much smaller. They are found in the same place as adults: their lifestyle and habitat are the same.

And I also read that they don't like the light - that's not true? can I turn on the bathroom light at night?

Well, if the calls of the president and prime minister to use energy - saving technologies, including in everyday life, do not touch you, and night lights in the bathroom do not strain your family budget-try wink.gifit . Only after all, under the bathroom-then you will still be quite dark (and damptongue.gif).

and I'll read about the hay eaters right now, thank you very much! is it even realistic to withdraw them? and they only live with me, or is it not uncommon for Moscow apartments?

This is more than not uncommon. They are found everywhere and often. And about the fight against all sorts of home "freeloaders" (if they really bother you so much), read on the Internet, at least here http://ecoforce.ru/mokr/

Dear forumchane, help identify insects.
Wound up on the wallpaper, crawling and jumping. They are also found on unpainted wooden surfaces, such as cutting boards. They are very small, less than 1 mm, when very small, they are almost translucent light green, when they grow up, they become darker. Choke easily, without crunching.
What are these beetles and how to deal with them?
Thank you all in advance.

Hay eaters, not beetles, are.

I'm not just stressed out by home "freeloaders" - they REALLY STRAIN me!! I understand with my mind that there is no harm from them, but I just start shaking when I see some kind of insect at home( I'm afraid to put on a robe, I want to throw it out, but it's a pity ((I'm slowly going crazy (please don't laugh,I really have some kind of phobia with these insects)

tell us people: HOW TO GET RID OF SCALES, HAY EATERS AND BOOK LICE? give me a step-by-step algorithm for destroying them! what to wash, where to wash, how often to wash, maybe something to sprinkle or pour on the thread.... help, pliz

P. S. my house is VERY clean (a child crawling around the house is very disciplined), I wash the floors 2 times a day, vacuum every other day, etc....

21.09.2009 21:43, Lusharik

or maybe it's easier to call those who are being bullied? does it really help or is it just a waste of money? is this etching harmful for the child?

and another question: where do these hay eaters and book lice come from? through the windows or somewhere else? how do they get into the books?

It's not an insect. This is the millipede flycatcher (scutigera), Latin for Scutigera coleoptrata. Search the Internet for a lot of information about it. At least here.

I already gave you the link http://ecoforce.ru/mokr/ The phone number where you can order processing is also indicated there. As for the harm to the child, then for the period of processing the apartment and for some time after it is better to move smile.gifit . However, honestly, scales and hay eaters are not the kind of scourge that makes an apartment worth flooding with chemicals and poisons. I repeat once again - there is not a drop of tangible harm from them! yes.gif Try to better manage your phobia smile.gif.

and another question: where do these hay eaters and book lice come from? through the windows or somewhere else? how do they get into the books?

These insects do not occur in our nature, they are typical synanthropes (they live near a person, in his home). They get to our apartments very simply: they are entered with various things, crawl over from neighbors, etc.

Sorry for the lack of photos. In a suburban area (Moscow region) about two weeks ago, I found several nests with swarming worms about one and a half centimeters long, gray-black in color, in one nest probably a couple of hundred larvae, such nests were first found five, watered with poison, trampled, buried - nothing takes them, only if you throw it in the fire. A week ago, new nests were found on the ground under old boards and under a package.

At the beginning of summer, there were a lot of flying insects of black color, slightly larger than an ordinary fly, they have two legs hanging down like a hook when flying, and I did not find their images and names anywhere, these flies ate the flowers on the apple trees. I assume that these are their nests and larvae, because these hook flies fly out from the ground and by the number of insects, there were not so many other insects to make so many nests.

Please tell me what kind of attack it is, and what kind of poison to deal with them, because it is unbearable, they pour out from everywhere. Given their number, it's hard to imagine how many there will be next year.

Thank you in advance, I really hope for your hint.

03.10.2009 3:44, Fornax13

"Hook flies", perhaps, refers to the Bibio marci pachyderm?
http://www.commanster.eu/commanster/Insect...Bibio.marci.jpg
their larvae look like this:
http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/54166091
They couldn't eat too many flowers, because they feed on nectar.

The gray-black larvae are probably soft-bodied larvae (Cantharidae), they are now leaving for the winter:

If you take a photo, you can tell more accurately.
