Hi, everybody… who can recognize what kind of goosebumps are found in the kitchen while I haven't seen them anywhere else, crawling on the tile, on the table on the windowsill. Yellowish color size 0.5-1 mm, crawl on their paws, jump 5 – 10 cm when touched. The apartment is new renovated recently ... new furniture. I've never seen anything like this before. Can this animal live in laminate, I have suspicions that these beetles appeared after the laminate was put on the floor... although it is put in all rooms.. confused.gif Help us get rid of them..

It looks like a young (newly hatched) bedbug.

No, it's not a bug, of course. It's a hay eater. The insect, in general, is quite harmless. I mean, it doesn't bite a person smile.gif. Damage can be caused to zoological collections and herbariums (if any), books (especially old ones), etc.

And how to remove these pigeon fleas? They bite! There is no peace for people or animals...

14.10.2009 21:00, okoem

Well, there are no pigeons right in the apartment. Children brought a wounded bird...
It is possible that the bird could also crawl.
I highly recommend reading it here -

I really ask for help from professionals - what kind of animals have I got at home?!
Very small ones, first noticed in the toilet room, recently saw in other rooms-mostly crawling in the corners, at the joints of the walls. The most interesting thing is that these animals also jump-low, 10 centimeters up, when I direct the light at them, they do not run away, but most often freeze... I think that they hide behind the baseboards and in the door frames.
Thank you in advance for your help!!!

regular hay eaters

21.10.2009 9:12, Atomic

Omar, thank you so much for your prompt response!
And don't hay-eaters live in old books and old stuff? I came across them on the Internet, but I thought that my neighbors still like wet places, first of all (most often I see them near the plumbing shower in the toilet) ...

28.10.2009 15:25,

Good day to all!
I apologize in advance if I didn't register it here...

In general, they live in the house. They don't go in herds,of course,
but sometimes I see a couple of them when I sort through the trash.
I think they like paper.

I cleaned up this one, stirred up a lot of things, and saw one on a white sheet.
It's about a millimeter long. Jumps, 3-4 centimeters... I was restless. Couldn't manage to take a picture normally (first photo).
I had to calm down a little (second photo). I didn't get any more sensible pictures.

What kind of animals are these and are they harmful?

Can you tell me who it is

Scutigera coleoptrata is a millipede flycatcher.

At least 6 times asked about the flycatcher in the same topic at the top, use the search, however!

Hello! Tell me who it is and how to withdraw it.. after the repair, I found insects in the apartment (if the 17th floor is important) long - up to 1 cm and thin, no more than 2-3 mm wide, like a lot of legs.. white semi-transparent, do not run very fast, but can not run away and freeze in place. First I saw him crawling out from under the baseboard, then I saw him in the bathroom, under a basket of dirty laundry.. and just running around the bathroom at night.. Then I saw it in the dressing room , there was a bag of clothes on the floor, and there were a lot of them under it, too.. apparently gravitate to clothes all the same.. fragile, in the hand of their not zzyat-crushed..
I sprayed them with dichlorvos, they died and half of them ran away.. and shriveled up for some reason.. in reality, they are longer and narrower, but in the photo they turned out to be round-they shriveled up after dichlorvos.. even when they crawl-like a snake.. legs like there are antennae. help pliz! who is it? the child is small in the house, and the cat is still present.

This is the sugar beetle (Lepisma saccharina) - a harmless insect that settles in the human dwelling and leads a nocturnal lifestyle. It is absolutely safe for a child, especially for a cat (a cat, by the way, is a much greater potential danger for a child wink.gif). Prefers fairly moist places in the apartment. I do not recommend using dichlorvos - it is a poison, and for you, and for the child, and for the cat itself is much more harmful than cohabiting with these creatures. No special means of control have been developed (probably because they do practically no harm - they feed on organic residues that are always present in the dust). And so-fight for cleanliness and humidity - they will gradually smile.gifdisappear .

Good day to all!

Tell me, pliz, what kind of insect started up in our apartment. Photos are attached.

It's not an insect. A tick of some kind.

18.11.2009 21:23, Victor Titov

Yes, this is a red-bodied tick. Take a look at these links, you can also "Google"them yourself.

Yes, thank you, that's what it is. Where did he come from in the apartment, that's the question. Maybe from a cat that lived in the country all summer, and now lives in the apartment again for two months? Or did you come to the apartment with the land of flower plants?
Okay, I'll watch them for now, if they still come into view)

18.11.2009 21:53, Victor Titov

I believe that the option of getting into the apartment due to skidding with the ground for flowers is most likely.

I have in the kitchen yesterday there were some small 3-4 mm beetles
need to be destroyedsmile.gif
but without chemistry, because I have birds at home live.

These are grains. Look for stocks of beans (most likely), peas, and beans (less likely) in your home. That's where they breed. If the supplies are for pet food, they can be calcined in the oven (the larvae will die). If it's used as food for people , you'll have to throw it away.

Oh, thank you very much. They are just so big, usually in the rump beetles are much smaller. I went to sort out the cereals. Thank you againsmile.gif

19.11.2009 19:53, Victor Titov

By the way, theoretically, if there are few beetles, they could get to you and from neighbors, where they multiplied in their stocks of beans.

19.11.2009 19:56, sas24

They have multiplied in my bean stocksfrown.gif there are very many of them and most of them are sitting in open bags with red and white beans.
if I throw out all the cereals, will that be enough, or do I have to wipe all the shelves with vinegar?

19.11.2009 20:39, Victor Titov

Everything, then, is correct-this is a bean beetle (Acanthoscelides obtectus). If you throw away your bean stocks and eliminate their food supply, they will disappear. This beetle is practically a monophage, except for beans, it does not need anything.

This is not a bug, this is some kind of bug (but do not be afraid, in any case, not the one that is bedbugged!). I probably got into the apartment by accident, from the street. If you don't mind, fight with a sneaker. As it is, it is harmless to you.

20.11.2009 20:24, JeterAvio

^ ) smile.gifthank you Dmitrich... my wife and I were really scared.". our baby is 4 months old... and here such stinkers are crawling.. if you crush it, it will stink oh oh how...

20.11.2009 20:31, Victor Titov

This is true: crushed and just disturbed bedbugs smell, to put it mildly, not ah (although, not all). Duc, this is their way of protection - they give a signal: "Don't touch me, I'm not delicious no.gif!" So it is better not to push it, but just release smile.gifit .

Here's the deal:
1. even if the bug is from the smelly breed, then with the "sneaker" method proposed by Dmitry, the bug does not have time to stink constantly smile.gif
2. we, Pasha, do not have Israel here, we already have snow in some places... Therefore, "sneaker" will be clearly more humane lol.gif

Please tell me if anyone knows, saw....
I found in the room under the baseboard some small caterpillars (like larvae of some kind). Brown from 2 to 8 ml somewhere.
I wonder if they are harmless or worth being wary of.
I don't like insects, and even such unknown ones, near my bed, it's unpleasant somehow............

Good gentlemen, I ask for your help!

I'm tired of fighting this stuff, even though my wife isn't afraid and doesn't faint, but I guess I'm an alarmist and I'm worried about the baby.

The cohabitant is very similar to:
user posted image

But, my little gray one is 5-7 mm in size and without legs. On the head(?) two protruding horns, but not large - 1-2 mm. They crawl fast, wagging their tail very fast. I have not met larger individuals or other colors. Choke without crunch and without smell, although the feeling that the armor is chitinous.

We first met in the bath in the amount of 2 pieces, which quickly retreated as soon as I turned on the light and approached them.
Two more individuals met at the trash can next to the bait from cockroaches. One impudent creature was sitting on the table next to the sink, but for some reason it didn't move or show any signs of life.

The last trash met this morning while sitting on the shower curtain.
My bath is quite humid, as there is constant condensation and even a puddle accumulates between the pipes.

Specialists-I ask for your help in identifying the alien.
Sorry for the lack of a photo.
