Thank you. So, spring is coming soon! smile.gif

Well, Dmitritch, I expected more from you. It's a good thing they didn't say it was a bug. smile.gif

Just kidding of course, I hope I didn't offend. I myself am very interested in what kind of person he is. smile.gif

I read about "Entiminae", and I see that you are quickly"corrected". smile.gif

What are the grievances here? beer.gif You can't embrace the vast! wink.gif Initially, I tried to answer very clearly, because I didn't know the level of knowledge in the requested area of the photo author (the initiator of the question). And then, when I saw that you were also connected to the topic, I decided to express my opinion about the subfamily ... shuffle.gif

Caught today in the sink, we see this for the first time.

Still how interesting! But I can't think of anything useful to say... maybe Urometopus what? confused.gif
At the same time, it seems to me that the beetle is under-colored. Barypeithes (Exomias) sp.? No, I won't guess any more!

Hello!Help please. At home, strange insects appear in the apartment on the 9th floor, regardless of the time of year. The size is approximately 3-4 mm, flat, paws on the sides "splayed", black.I can't say for sure if they fly or not,but they DEFINITELY jump. This is what they are terrible frown.giffor ,they can jump on their heads, they can jump on their faces.I don't think they bite. When trying to crush, do not choke,do not swat. You can only destroy it if, for example, you rub it on the floor with a slipper.Even if a cat catches it, it can hardly eat it.

The description resembles a bed bug. But bedbugs don't jump. You would have posted a photo, maybe it would have become clear who it is. It's also a good idea to indicate which part of the world your insects live in. Otherwise-fortune-telling on coffee grounds.

They live in the city of Ulyanovsk.Unfortunately, I can't post a photo, because it doesn't exist, they don't always happen, but periodically appear one at a time, rarely 2 at a time. They usually sit on the ceiling.I made a mistake with the size-they are slightly larger than 6-8mm.I don't think it's bedbugs,I've seen bedbugs, and THIS is something I've never seen before. There was a case when I came to work and saw IT on my clothes.

In this case, you can try to take photos the next time you see them.
This is what it looks like bed bug.

These are leatherworms. They are not dangerous for humans. You can only remove it by removing dust more often than better, from all the cracks and baseboards (with a vacuum cleaner). Their larvae mainly feed on dust.

Exactly, leatherhead Attagenus smirnovi.

God, thank you so much!...I'm going to do a wet cleaning right now.And just for fun, why are they kozheaters if they eat dust?

They can eat a lot of things (especially other types of them in this family), but dust (and in the crevices) is the most accessible, you don't need to "steam" much, always at hand.
As I said before, a vacuum cleaner is often best. And everywhere. In every nook and cranny.

Arrived the day before yesterday from Thailand, in the morning a fellow traveler was found on the glass.
After injecting a sedative into his wife, the guest was captured... and then, gentlemen, the dilemma: it is somehow ugly to kill, it is a pity to throw it away, it is expensive to take it home.

The beast looks like a modification of the praying mantis.
Tell me, please, what is his name, what does he live on?

Yes, there is a praying mantis. Lives by being predatory. Eats anything that moves.

18.03.2011 13:04, Zlopastnyi Brandashmyg

And where are you from, I think there are quite a few people who are ready to take it from you.

18.03.2011 15:03, truck

Moscow, Prazhskaya metro station

if there is an insect lover who cares about cattle , I will give it back with pleasure.

How long can he live without food?
and what kind of food should he buy in the winter?

18.03.2011 16:18, Zlopastnyi Brandashmyg

Thank you, the animal is potentially valuable and it will be a pity if it dies. In addition, it is a female and theoretically, in good hands, you can hope for brood.

I'm not from Moscow myself, and I'm not much of a keeper. MSU has a graduate student "on praying mantises", I have already drawn his attention to your post.

Mantises eat live food - any insects that are suitable in size. Of course, this is a problem right now. They can do without food for quite a long time, the main danger is dehydration, spray the cage with water, you can use a spray gun to water flowers.

truck

similar to Acromantis formosana. Ready to pick it up. I sent you a personal message.

Dear entomologists,!!!! Help to identify: in the soil of a homemade conic spruce, small red things have started up. they run fast. size 1-2 mm. the body is oval, unicolored-brown (red). 4 legs on each side. the front legs resemble a claw. they have long antennae that they constantly wiggle.

23.03.2011 0:04, Bad Den

4 legs on each side.

Total-8 legs. It looks like some ticks.

23.03.2011 1:08, Dr. Niko

Ticks with long antennae? Can I send a photo to the studio? It even became interesting.

And who then with 8 legs? I think of haymakers that have just hatched, but...

long antennae, but no trunk. the camera broke while trying to take a picture))

the other day in the apartment on the wall I found a not very pleasant "neighbor"
I would like to understand what kind of monster and what is dangerous, if dangerous

False scorpion. Completely harmless.

Even envy, one of my friends kept the culture on drosophila.

Not mine, just asked to pass)))))
"SOS!!! I really need the help of an entomologist!

I describe the problem: small flies appeared in the apartment. They behave very strangely. You can't display them.
1) Description: small (the largest is 4 mm), black in color, very mobile.
2) Behavior: aggressive-climb into the mouth and nose, bite. They are very attracted to unpleasant odors. Excellent hold on the water (not only do not drown, but also RUN(!) on the surface of the water, like water skaters. They are very hard to crush - they are hard.
They also "jump" when they need to move small (up to 15 cm) distances. They feel great in the cold - they still flew at a temperature of +5.
3) At first, I thought it was blackbirds - I dug up everything that could be dug up, washed everything that could be washed. It didn't help. When I was bitten for the first time, I realized that these were not fruit flies. sad
4) Dichlorvos does not take this abomination. They just float in it. They don't even lose consciousness.
My brother went to Thailand and Mexico before these creatures appeared. I have a suspicion that this "gift"is not from there?
Based on this, I formulate the following questions:
1) what is this stuff?
2) how to deal with it? " ©

Something contradictory. What are these flies that are so hard that you can't crush them? Yes, and jump, and bite ...
Most likely, either beetles or bedbugs. shuffle.gif

06.04.2011 16:20, Pirx

Photo, photo!
And so - there is a suspicion that these are forid flies.

07.04.2011 10:52, Mantispid

Now pay attention! correct answer!
These are really forid flies-Megaselia scalaris
And so the main prize goes to Pirx)))

It looks like a bloodsucking fly. They climb out of the ventilation system if there are pigeon nests there. Exit-grid on the ventilation hatch.

Hello there!! I have a problem... I live in Spain, in a country house. and now, with the arrival of spring, strange little black cockroaches began to crawl out, which in case of danger curl up into a ball! It's like they're in a shell! I searched the Internet, their name is perisphaerus, but I didn't find much information! only katrinks in google
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&biw=...&q=Perisphaerus
please help me! are they dangerous?

13.04.2011 23:04, Pirx

photo give, por favor

))))) I'm flattered! )) I sent the link, they look exactly like in these photos (the first 2 lines of photos). I just registered today and don't know how to post a photo.. apologize... also, they are from 0.5 to 2-3x cm. if they turn into real big cockroaches, I can't stand it... ((((

I can't stand what?Unclear.

14.04.2011 16:36, Алиненок

I'll explain: I find cockroaches extremely unpleasant, especially large and flying ones. "I can't stand it" means that I will be very upset if these black cockroaches that crawl around my house grow into something even more terrible.
please, could you tell me what these creatures are, how to deal with them and whether they will grow up? this is the only thing that interests and excites me. photos can be viewed here http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&biw=...&q=Perisphaerus
1,2,3,6,8,9,10 and 11 photos fully correspond to the appearance of these cockroaches.
Now, I hope, everything is clear? if you can't help me, please let me know. this is important to me. thank you very much in advance

14.04.2011 22:08, СергейС.С

Now, I hope, everything is clear?
Yes, it is clear that it is clear. And you haven't been anywhere else except in the greenhouse, you haven't slept on the ground in a tent, you haven't lain in the grass in the summer, you haven't admired the blue sky, you haven't walked barefoot on Mother Earth. You try it,then the words " extremely unpleasant ", "especially big and flying", "I can't stand it", "grow into something even more terrible", "what kind of creatures are these"-will disappear by themselves.

14.04.2011 22:40, okoem

photos can be viewed here

It would be nice to have a photo of your inhabitants. What looks exactly the same to you may actually turn out to be something completely different.
If this is really Perisphaerus, then you probably need to fight as well as with any other cockroaches - "cockroach extermination".
