Dear experts,

At home, in the bathroom recently got small insects, about 1-2 mm long, red-orange in color. They crawl, but don't jump. They don't seem to like the light. I attached a photo of the insect on the end of the bathroom, I hope that despite its quality (using the maximum camera capabilities - macro photography), it will be possible to determine who it is and how dangerous it is.

Thank you all very much in advance.

PS. I also wonder if this animal can cause a child's allergy?

Ham leatherworms are common in attics where birds nest. Anthrenus, s are developed in apartments in collections of insects, stuffed birds and animals, on crafts made of feathers, etc.

The main thing is that there are no birds or collections. the house is new, maybe brought with some problems.materials...?

The quality of the photo does not allow us to say for sure, but still with a sufficient degree of probability we can assume that this is still someone from Collembola. In principle, there is no danger.

These are, in general, relatively harmless insects that do not pose a serious danger - hay eaters (order Psocoptera). Read here on these links:

If you read everything carefully, you probably noticed that about the methods of fighting (out of the corner smile.gifof your eye ) there is one there too. "Google" - maybe you'll find something else on the web. And also: an independent topic (People help! Creatures in the house; () I recommend removing them immediately: this one is enough to discuss your problems. Clones of topics are not welcome on our forum. And in general, the forum was created and does not exist to promote methods of combating synanthropic insects.

Good afternoon! Please help me determine who it is? city of Kiev. It's January outside. 2nd floor of a 9-storey panel house. The windows are plastic, the windows are covered with nets. Such creatures have never been seen before. I saw one on the wall in my room a couple of weeks ago. I threw it out. A few days later, another one, then another, and today it's like this again. 1-1.2 cm long. There are wings, but I didn't see them fly. They just crawl. They were only seen in one room. Who is it? Thank you in advance for your response.

This is the lesser underwing Molorchus minor (barbel). It develops in dead trunks and branches of coniferous trees (spruce, pine). The beetle overwinters in a cradle in wood. Any products made of coniferous branches or home-made furniture in the house did not appear?

New Year's Eve - the Christmas tree was probably brought homesmile.gif

13.01.2012 9:41, dndids

No, there was no furniture, no Christmas trees, no coniferous branches this year. It becomes generally interesting where they came from. If there were one or two, you'd think they were stray. But I already met 5 pieces, and not immediately, not in one day. Can they start up somewhere under the baseboard? Although I can assume that if they had bred there, I would have met them before, and small ones too. And they are all the same size.

At my dacha, they began to come out a year after the spruce boards were applied.

Help!!!
I have tenants in my apartment (I live on the 4th floor), aaaaaaaam I spent the whole night with a vacuum cleaner exterminating them. they are black, so small mm3 can be 4 long..they also fly. at night on the light, and in the afternoon today near the window (where the balcony is), do not bite...I also noticed that their carapace is a bit triangular. is it possible that there were larvae in the tree, and now they have hatched??? from where are they. here's a photo

These are grains, most likely beans. Check the kitchen's supply of legumes, they are most likely there.

Thank you very much! So after all, she came to us with a Christmas tree smile.gif
Can you tell me if it makes sense to keep her at home or maybe take her to the forest? I just don't know if it will freeze or fall into suspended animation - but somehow it came to us from the winter forest? And woke up, apparently? After all, if it turns into a butterfly at home, then there is no chance to live until the summer, or it will not pupate in captivity?

People, help! We bought used furniture, it looked very decent and the owners swore that the furniture was clean and well-groomed.
We decided to clean the filler and found THIS

IMG_0116_1_.JPG

IMG_0117_1_.JPG

IMG_0118_1_.JPG

Really bedbugs? The thought makes me cringe. Carefully examined the sofa, more such stains were not found. Skins or eggs were not noticed with the naked eye. No insects were seen. My wife says there is no smell of bedbugs.
A small detail: in the sofa bag, where the filler was, there is a small hole in the fold, a yellow trace near it, and from it it looks like a small ball of cobwebs, in which I observed reddish dots (I can't take a picture anymore, unfortunately). This sofa has been with us for a week, but no bites or sleep disturbances have been noticed.
What is it? Could it be the excrement of some other insects? The sofas were taken out on the balcony and they swore to buy someone else's furniture at least once more. frown.gif

Hello, help me get rid of annoying beetles. They live mainly in the kitchen, on cutting boards, in corners where there is moisture. Very mobile and microscopic, to distinguish you need to look very closely.
