Thanks! I'll know. Next year, you may be lucky to find it there. This year I was outside Tomsino in the oak forests in the last decade of July, where xanthomelas mixed with irises drank juice from the oaks. I wanted to find oak cauliflowers there, but apparently it was too late for such a warm summer.

I know - Mikhalych has already reported everything wink.gifto me a long time ago, and I did not find the tailings this year, even in a 100% verified place.

Clear smile.gif
Perhaps just because of the early departure. For example, Thecla betulae in 16 was first observed from August 5, in 17 from August 27, and this year they flew on July 18. On June 7, the first Satyrium pruni met, and on June 18, it was already heavily flown.

Look for ligeia in the taiga-SPRUCE zone. Away from the pine zone of Ethiopia.
Plus, it flies on odd years.

On the website http://mosregbut.narod.ru/osn.htm there are data for Ligea for 2008 and for 2009. For 2008, just from Pskov, so I thought that maybe this year will come across. However, anything could happen in 10 years. But we will search until we find wink.gif

This is my old site, the ligea and the Ethiopian were both fished on the northeastern tip of Lake Asho (which is directly north of Zabel), the Ethiopian is quite close to the shore, if not everywhere, and the ligea is less common and away from the shore. I didn't know much about forest types at the time, but I don't remember any good spruce forests in the vicinity of Asho. Ligeia was caught either in a clearing or in a clearing.

I understood about the spruce forests. But not quite about the two-year cycle. It turns out that the bulk of the league has a two-year cycle, and as an exception to the rule, it can develop in one and, accordingly, fly out every year, but in even years in a smaller number?
For the site, even though it is old, respect! I use it sometimes.

For example, in the Leningrad region, Ligeya flies annually to the north of St. Petersburg on the Karelian Isthmus; to the south of the city, it probably has a two-year cycle and flies only in even-numbered years. These are old observations reflected in the Proceedings of the VEO, vol. 67, p. 269 (1986). I can only confirm them.

In Karelia, Ligea flies on odd-numbered years, in even-numbered years there are single specimens. I caught two this year. The development of preimaginal stages can take up to three years.

In the Novgorod region, at the point where I have been observing for at least 8 years, P. edusa was found only in 2011, and not only once.
According to literature data, the descendants of the summer generation of migrants fly here, and in winter the new offspring freeze out. So it's hard to guess when it will appear.

In September 2011, she flew en masse in the Novgorod region along the fields on the Staroe Rakomo - Sergovo line. I haven't seen her since confused.gif

For the second year I have been studying the habitat of Erebia aethiops north-east of Pustoshka. In the same places, there should still be Erebia ligea, but I haven't found it yet.
It turns out here is such a map:
picture: Erebia_aethiops_2018.jpg
From the interesting things for me this year: I first met Oeneis jutta in 4 upper swamps; Lopinga achine, although there was only one killed specimen; Apatura iris, they didn't exist at all before, but this year they flew to the same places as ilia, and even in larger numbers; and finds of the year Satyrium w-album and Carcharodus floccifera. Special thanks for the help in identifying C. floccifera-Kharkovbut and cleobis.
I tried to find Parnassius mnemosyne, Euphydryas maturna, Melitaea didyma, Nymphalis vau-album, Pararge aegeria, Cupido minimus, Maculinea alcon, marked by L. F. Antipova in the southern regions of the region, but to no avail. I also did not meet Pontia edusa, which was in abundance 7-8 years ago. I'd still like to make a report on raznousym. But I don't know yet which way to approach it (about two hundred undefined views).
[/quote]
Thank you for the points of refueling ! I haven't seen her there, but I haven't been there for a long time.
I saw Ligeia in the area of the red ellipse, although they have now cut it down (exactly in this place !), but maybe around it, there was a dense powerful spruce forest.
To the left of Kudever, I caught M. alcon, one male, and he flew out of my fingers, but I managed to identify him.
And here is the second map, so that it would be clear where it is. And there, to the left of Kudever, somewhere in the middle, before Dukhnovo, I met E. maturna, although it is quite rare. And there, by the way, on the side of the road, at the fork to that spruce forest, with Ligea, I collected a couple of Coenonympha arcania, in copuli, although I didn't see them there anymore.

Well, slowly and the next season rolls up. During the week, the snow layer was reduced from 54 cm to 22 cm. In the fields, on the hills, the ground was already beginning to show through. Everything flows and bubbles. On the rivers, the ice has already darkened. The sun is getting hotter and hotter. At this rate, in a couple of weeks, snow will only remain in the forests.

  Spring has begun!

Still, yes, the whole oil week was almost continuous In the spring jump.gifFrom the snow gulkin fih remained... Maslyanitsa burned, spent the winter, and already on Lycia began to roll out gubenki.... And in the morning-opankiconfused.gif-snow almost knee-deep!!!
But.... in the fields, so in the fields.
And spring is rushing!!! The ground is already completely thawed, even though it is covered with snow from above - blue Belarusian beetles are drowning to the sky, and they are playing with each other in locomotives. Some wrong starlings arrived:

It's only been 5 days.... Spring is just rushing. Swans have arrived, but they don't let them go near the photo shoot - they are sitting in a field with winter crops. After Monday's downpour, there was almost no snow left - only in the hollows in the fields, and in the forest thicket. And some are already preparing for flowering. We are waiting, sir.

Dedicated to all overstated, stagnant, stale ones... Well, a week has passed since the last reportage... There was practically nothing left of the snow. There was a slight frost last night. But the day!!! Sunny, +6C! Beauty! Larks sing in the fields, * * * Ricky tufts on frozen puddles shake.... Some spiders are running in droves through the leaves and grass. Spring, in short!!!

An interesting "biotope" was discovered during the search of the "possessions". The bonfire is called - burnt in the autumn heaps of sawn birch undergrowth.

It turns out that charred trunks are a very popular place for spring girls! If in the small woods or on the road they are very, very shy, and, moreover, extremely confident, then they sit on the coals and let them get close to themselves, almost, close!!! And, unlike the withered-grass background, on the black one, they are clearly visible with their lower red wings.

Most of all, spring women love excrement, and both birch and aspen to the same extent. And at the same time, they forget about everything in the world, they can be taken by the wings even with the fingers of their hands .

I made a test evening-night sortie. Until 21.00, the screen was pristine, although everything seemed to indicate the opposite +13C, complete calm, cloudy. But on the current birches - a full house! Vaccinia canisters can be harvested. The top 4 rows in the photo are a set with one birch tree. After 21.00, the clouds left, the stars began to shine, the temperature dropped to +8C and the screen came to life-the lower 2 rows. It is clear that nothing extraordinary, but after the winter - nice!!!

Well, what is this maniacal desire to freeze us all here?! By the way, this weekend we have more cars with your St. Petersburg license plates than with Novgorod ones. Are you evacuating there?

Today , having seen enough of the melted yards and posherstiv forecasts (where in Yaroslavl +8)shuffle.gif, I decided to open the season in the immediate vicinity of the city. I came to sosnovy bor with the hope yes.gifof thawing out ant hills, etc.
And "suddenly" - snow in the forest on the "most impossible" - from the knee and above, even the trails are below the snow level... I walked around, walked weep.gif weep.gifaround (cried) and went home. Even on the edges where the snow was melting-thawed patches several square meters in size, the trunks of pine trees warmed up in the sun, BUT there was no one on them - not even flies, which on such days should already wake up and be active. weep.gifIn general, the season could not be opened (collected bark beetles and Phratora from under the bark do not count - they can be found even in -30). weep.gif

To be honest, I don't even know what the license plates on the St. Petersburg cars are. But the forecast was softened: a cold front is coming, while with rain, snow will be on this night, and then an anticyclone and spring. So congratulations on your catch, although it's strange that you didn't have enough of this stuff... If there is anything elusive to look for so far , it is the moth Malacodea regelaria sitting in old spruce forests. The Finns fly exclusively in April, it is registered in our region, and it should reach you. It's easier for you there, and there are spruce forests nearby, and a car with a generator...

It's not a matter of grit-lack of goods, but the fact of the opening of the season. Not every fisherman eats fish. And I haven't caught it yet in March. Spruce forests are planned, but a little later.
