It is not interesting to keep her at home, she buries herself in the ground and gets out to eat and breathe. Yes, and bites hard. But if you want, I can catch it next spring, pick it up from Khabarovsk.

With Osmoderms, everything is confusing right now. Mr. Gusakov described at least 2 new species from the Far East.. How they differ from traditional DV types (which are in the "red determinant"), I do not knowfrown.gif And where to clarify-alas, toofrown.gif((

Yesterday, on the river Sushke (PTZ), despite +13 degrees, a lot of mnemosyne. They flew only when the sun was peeking out, and then barely. The butterflies are fresh, but quite often there are undamaged specimens with defective wings. Females are all without exception with sphragis. Is it present in their nativity or, nevertheless, is it a sign of fertilization? I went there before flying to Vladivostok and found jump.gifthat I didn't have a camera with me frown.gif
Today, Vladivostok. The weather compared to the forecast is fabulous: +16 and partly cloudy. I drove from the airport specifically through the surrounding area. There is nothing to catch, I forgot everything when I left, because I was in a hurry because of traffic jams. I saw P. maaki, some whiteflies and jaundice, a couple of red nymphalids. You can't see many butterflies at all. On the way on the road caught some karabus, eating an earthworm. I don't know if I'll take him or not, and he's a little shabby from birth smile.gif

Vladivostok, a hill on the Egershelda peninsula in the city limits. From 18 to 20, sunny, 15 gr., quite strong and cold wind from the sea. Butterflies only on the leeward side of the hill. Two species of golubyanki were found, the Far Eastern analog of the Central Russian C. hyale, Cynthia cardui. The latter are very large, bright and aggressive with a pronounced territorial behavior. It got to the point that they were chasing not only each other, but also the swifts smile.gif
Catch, and then with difficulty, managed only representatives of Lycaenidae. Since I'm not at home, and I don't have time to dig on the Internet, please determine. I was once again convinced that the best time to catch pigeons is in the early morning and late evening, because the butterflies just sit and do not twitch. That's why they were caught. I apologize for the quality of the pictures, there was a wind, butterflies flew over, and I don't have a camera with me for macro photography. The first one is a tail, a battered specimen, but an excellent catch. The top is brown with a strong dark blue tint, the size is up to 3.5 cm in wingspan. I only met three of them. The second is a pigeon with tails, a male and a female. Very similar to Cupido argiades, I guess it is?

We made a two-week trip with Ekos to the Amur Region and the EAO: Raichikhinsk-Arkhara-Khingansk-Radde-Pashkovo-Obluchye-Leninskoe-Khabarovsk. With the weather extremely unlucky, caught a little, very little.
So far, only photos with comments, then we'll update them.

I'm leaning towards Jukunda, I'll sort out the fees at my leisure, I'll clarify. Unfortunately, I didn't take the larva and returned it to the anthill. There was nowhere to put it, and I didn't feel like messing around. I am most concerned about the definition of a bedbug, tell me who understands predation.

June 27.Light wind.day sun night moon ))).
There is almost no time sometimes I break out for two or three hours during the day and at night in the forest.
A lean year (maybe for now ?) there are few butterflies, as well as beetles. But I'll throw off a couple of interesting images.Quality below the skirting board (I was shooting with a mobile phone), tourists passed by and threw egg husks. An hour later I was walking past this place and found them feasting. And the bedbug stomped about three o'clock in the morning(I've never seen such a thing before) who can tell you whose it will be ? :0)))

Hello colleagues! smile.gif
So, in fact, I chose the time to write a report on my trip to Primorsky Krai. In the period from May 22 to June 6 in this wonderful region. He spent most of his time in the village of Anisimovka. The main collections were made with the help of ground traps, which were installed at an altitude of 650-700 m above sea level in a mixed forest. Over the entire period, insects from different groups were collected, ranging from the relict cockroach (Cryptocerus_relictus)
picture: Cryptocerus_relictus.JPG to butterflies and beetles, and even larvae of horned beetles (? Prismognathus subaeneus Motsch.).
SA700310.JPG
The weather was generally good, despite the fact that the contrast with Vladivostok is significant, while the village was sunny in Vladivostok was overcast. Here are some seaside landscapes: once I even visited the local waterfalls cool.gif

SA700109.JPG
I will not list all the collected species...and there is no way to determine all of them...I will give some of the most striking representatives of coleoptera that I caught.

I immediately want to know from specialists about the ground beetle-Carabus vietinghoffi, what subspecies of this carabus lives in the area of Anisimovka village (near Vladivostok)? And I will be grateful if you can tell me approximately what kind of pterostichus is in the photo...I don't rummage through them...) the species is quite large (about 15 mm).
SA700004.JPG
Time in Primorye flew by quickly and the entomological season on Sakhalin, oddly enough, I opened only upon arrival on the island the next day (June 7). I immediately drove north to the highest waterfall (which is 48 meters high). The photo shows several tall ones (height about 20 – 30 m). PS. taking into account my 2-meter height in the photo, they do not seem as big as in reality. tongue.gif

I laid out a lot of mattresses on the post - buying and selling insects. And the bloodsuckers are the worst place I've ever seen in Birobidzhan. There's not a minute in a day that you don't have some kind of filth on you, plus a sea of ivies. Namayalis we then with Lena. Heat, humidity, mosquitoes. There were internships of the Blagoveshchensk Pedagogical University. I think that after these practices, many students returned home not as they were before...
The agony there was terrible. But there are so many butterflies. The Brahmins are flying, and there are plenty of hawkmoths.
And in the Zeysky Reserve, they collected and then described a new crested bird zaranga tukuringra, a representative of a new genus for the Russian Federation.
In Primorye - of course it's good. Lena caught a couple of new leaf eaters for the Russian Federation, a lot of butterflies.
Well, China is the usual tourism - restaurants, we took a walk along the Amur embankment.
