question about Chalcophora mariana.
Which gender has the notch at the tip of the abdomen? The male?

27.07.2009 20:03, Liparus

and another one,who is he?

Then Liparus:
A good animal is the genus Orthocerus - I can't vouch for the species, there may be two of them. If in your area in the forest, then, most likely, O. clavicornis.

To Sungaya:
yes, the male has a deep notch on the anal sternum, the female has a kind of pointed one.

another question about Phaenops cyanea. How do they distinguish between sexes?
And where can I get lists of goldsmiths and barbels in the Moscow region?

27.07.2009 20:25, Fornax13

The Sungaya:
According to Richter:
"the male. Anal sternite at the apex is directly cut off, its apical border is smooth, parallel.
the female. Anal sternite with a semicircular or triangular smooth fossa at the apex, its apical edge slightly notched."

In theory, it lives on peltigers, so you can look around the area for that place.
I think it is worth preserving carefully, as well as all the beetles in the collection smile.gif

To Liparus:
IMG_2228 - Trachys sp. (like pumila, etc.) It's hard for them.
IMG_2319-think Anthaxia (Mesanthaxia) olympica
IMG_2341 - A. (Euanthaxia) like signaticollis

IMG_2343, IMG_2344-like A. (s.str.) podolica
IMG_2432 - Exocentrus ?adspersus
IMG_2448 - Leiopus linnei or something...
IMG_2242 - Lathrobium (s.str.) sp. To be sure, it is better to pull him by the genitals
IMG_2253-Xestobium rufovillosum
IMG_2455-Platysoma-I don't remember, xu from xu. But nothing complicated, look at the keys yourself.
IMG_2456 - Glischrochilus ??quadrisignatus

Wow! What cute zlatki. How can you catch them?

29.07.2009 16:18, Liparus

Wow! What cute zlatki. How can you catch them?

the first 2.5 mm-by mowing through the sagebrush on the outskirts of a pine forest(I also caught a blue one near the swamp vegetation by mowing)
the second - In the Crimea on the umbrella (like the usual, only I just saw one, probably the end of their summer)
and the last four pcs on some unusual ramashki on the outskirts of the forest (such daisies I kind of saw in the first, from a distance I thought that zontechnye, there was a strange biotope at all.
