Cyprus

Well, this is the genus Melyris (= Zygia), I'm not sure about the species (for some reason there are no literals anywhere), but only M. longicollis is listed for Cyprus (Schilsky, 1898).
Imagos are just sitting on flowers.

I agree with the first elephant and Zonitis flava,
I generally thought that Zonitis flava is a soft squirrel, they hid their head, and they are rare?I caught 6 pieces in just 2 exits to the place of fishing

Well, in the Crimea, I think not, judging by the number. And we're only one bug away.

Not I just thought that maybe they massively multiplied and I was lucky to catch 3 pairs smile.gif

Thank you for the genioctena, but these barbels are not Agapanthia villosoviridescens (I know it as flaky smile.gif)
These are about half her size. And the color is different. So it's something else.

15.07.2009 10:04, Алексей Сажнев

Agapanthia villosoviridescens is very variable in color, presumably it is males, so the size may vary, in your area from similar (except for "metal") I know only 2 species are directly villosoviridescens and dahli, the choice falls on Agapanthia villosoviridescens

Yes, the size of the adult largely depends on the development of the larva, on environmental factors, etc., for example, on temperature

This is the ground beetle Harpalus rufipes. male

Can it be called Pseudoophonus rufipes?

16.07.2009 19:35, Алексей Сажнев

maybe ) this is what it is, but Harpalus is still preferable, although the genus system is very confusing and incomplete

Hello, help me identify beetles. All shot in Chuvashia (national park "Chavash Varmane"), in June of this year.

Barbel Agapanthia dahli or Agapanthia villosoviridescens?

the length of the whiskers and their last segment are not visible, in males the whiskers reach the last third of the elytra and a little further, the last segment of the antennae in males also has a small constriction at the top and is longer.

I would refer Agapanthium to Agapanthia villosoviridescens

Why? Are there any clear differences between Agapanthia dahli and Agapanthia villosoviridescens?

17.07.2009 10:30, Алексей Сажнев

Agapanthia dahli has from 3 segments of antennae, usually up to 5, with tufts of long black hairs at the ends of the segments, but villosoviridescens does not have this
