What kind of leatherhead is this? Voronezh
[attachmentid ()=254805]

Not quite clear barbels from Kislovodsk.

I tried to identify Plavilshchikov from the "Fauna of the USSR", but I'm not sure if the result is correct.

The body length is 9.2 mm and 12.3 mm, respectively.

Pollen eater.

I tried to drive Ogloblin through the "Fauna of the USSR".
The epipleures of the elytra are at first quite broad, slightly narrowed at the level of the end of the posterior thorax, and then continue to the top, but do not reach the top a little.

I assume Cteniopus persimilis Reitter, 1890 ?

Body length 6.3 mm.

Kislovodsk, park.

Help me deal with the bronzes:

1) 40 mm, male, Indonesia, prov. Zap. Sumatra, Talang, purchased on Giradis-insect.com as Agestrata orichalca.
2) 51 mm, male, Thailand, prov. Chiang Mai, Doi Saket District, purchased in Chiang Mai, presumably Agestrata orichalca.
picture: Agestrata_40_51.jpg

Maybe these are different agencies after all? And which ones? Or where to look to find out?

In my opinion, both beetles are Agestrata orichalca ssp. orichalca (Linnaeus, 1789).
The second beetle is a typical Thai form.
The first one is more difficult, but in my collection there are several specimens from Sumatra, defined as orichalca, and they just differ from Thai ones in color and size (smaller ones).
To determine more confidently, you can look at edegaus.
The table is, for example, in "The beetles of the world 24-Schizorhinini 2"

A few Riazans) All handsome sawyerios!

1. Very blurry and darkened image. Can't you zoom in and lighten it? What is the size of the beetle? So it is definitely a male Acanthocinus and, most likely, A. aedilis.
2. Lamia textor
3. Female Monochamus galloprovincialis.

Colleagues, what are you doing? What is Alosterna? It wasn't even close. With such and such a form of pronotum, and the general habit. Can't real bugologists say this without being embarrassed by an authoritative opinion? Believe me, no one is immune from mistakes, especially if you looked in passing...

Yes, I do not really rummage in the sawyere, after elephants I can not determine them normally...
I looked at the fauna of the USSR, went to the allosturna tabatsikolor, but looked at the photos and doubted, just the form of prsp. and confused, and then Denis wrote allostrena, which confirmed my attempts. Now I asked to look at it more carefully and it turned out to be really stenurel jaeger. It happens smile.gif

Thank you so much, they really are. How could I not have guessed!
Can you identify a beetle from this photo? Label data at the bottom, 13 mm. A distinctive feature is the huge crescent-shaped jaws that protrude forward. I went through everything that is in Entiminae, everything is not the same.

These are not" jaws", but pupal appendages, usually they fall off, leaving a characteristic scar.
Check the beetle for Megamecus (Gnathomecus) cervulus Reitter, 1903, its pupal appendages are very large and do not fall off.
