I can't see anything. Here's a picture of what it should look like: http://www.coleo-net.de/coleo/texte/rhizophagus.htm And what kind of tree was it and in what condition? As Elizar said, they differ quite well ecologically - nitidulus is associated with settlements of woodworms (i.e., on dying or freshly dead trees, here I only came across it on birches), and dispar is common under the lagging bark at later stages of wood decomposition, lives on everything in a row.
Staphylinids are about the same size? Like Sepedophilus a la testaceus (testaceus/marshami / constans). This is not an easy group, although if you have comparative material, you can figure it out. But hardly anyone can tell from the photo.

Thank you. I found the beetle under the peeling bark of a dead pine tree.
Staphylins are exactly the same size. I'll post others in the form later. Maybe they can be identified.

Found in the garden today. Ukraine, Ternopil region, rural area. Length 1.5 cm. Is it possible to identify the species?
(I take pictures as best I can, so don't judge me harshly...)

Thank you. On Macroid and on http://insectamo.ru/coleo no. Here insecta.pro/ru/taxonomy/1012503 minimal information/ Small beetle or poorly studied species?

I didn't track it specifically, but it seems that the biology is still unknown. In the European part-it seems like a rarity, in the Far East, they say, more often. I didn't collect it myself, but this beast has repeatedly surfaced on the forum, so it's better to ask around with knowledgeable people.

What about the beetle??? According to the photo-it is difficult, according to the beetle it is easier... If there is an indentation on the anal sternum (abdomen) - nitidulus...
You can try it for ecology reasons - nitidulus, s usually sit in the passages of arboreal trees, dispar, s - under the bark

The bug remained where it was found. Found under the peeling bark of a pine tree. We have already come to the conclusion that this is a dispar. Thank you.

27.04.2017 4:15, Андреас

Please take a look - is this Anthaxia podolica, or Anthaxia fulgurans? "or something else altogether?" Taken from us on KMV 10.08.2009.
There is also one like this. Also we have 29.05.2011.
- They are 2 generations can give something? "Or are they really different species?" Or sexual dimorphism can also play a role if they are different sexes.

I want to take advantage of the opportunity to also get involved in a similar issue, showing my own, similar to the ground beetle from Bogdankov. redface.gif I just put it in a row for easy comparison and perception.
Mine was taken at our KMV in the steppe under a stone not far from the water (even the biotopes are similar and the latitude)
