Well, of course, it is the same smile.gif

Astrakhan.
We have record frosts of -30.
The day before yesterday , at work, I found a frozen hawk moth yazykana on the window.
Warmed up and revived. There was a problem with the power supply. But it seems decided: sprayed artificial flower syrup and hawk moth was tempted.
I thought the hawk moth had a caterpillar overwintering. Please enlighten us about this.

The yazykan can also hibernate as an adult. During the thaw in the south, you can see active butterflies.

12.01.2008 1:26, omar

our hawk moth has a pupa overwintering. Both the pupa and the butterfly overwinter at the yazykan. In the Crimea, pri -1 repeatedly saw flying cockroaches at the end of November. Fed on the last flowers of the evergreen autumn.

12.01.2008 12:11, okoem

"Evergreen autumn" - probably you call it Crocus Beautiful or Crocus Pallas. Evergreen shade blooms in August, and B. Ankara-in February. There are no other timelessness zones in Crimea.

This and the previous three posts are offtopic. I hope the Moderator will move the.
2 BO. - there is a section "Life and morals of insects", and there is also a separate branch about feeding hawkmoth.

Beautiful, but who I do not know! Please tell me!

Beautiful, but who I do not know! Please tell me!

Female Cataclysta lemnata. And the leaf wrapper from the previous batch is Clepsis spectrana.

Just indicate where it was taken. And then in the Far East, perhaps, something similar can fly.

isn't this Hyssia cavernosa?

13.01.2008 0:04, Pavel Morozov

to 009: it would be nice to number the images.
the first two are Parnassius (eversmanni) felderi. This taxon has a controversial status, but it has more advantages for eversmanni.

the third (black and white) is a very popular rainbow (iridescent) Schrenka Amureana schrenkii

at the bottom is a ribbon of the order, possibly a Catocala bella. It's a very fuzzy picture. If possible, upload images of a more decent quality.

13.01.2008 0:05, Pavel Morozov

isn't this Hyssia cavernosa?

It is there.

13.01.2008 0:07, Pavel Morozov

Hyssa cavernosa is quite a normal, though not banal, scoop from the Moscow region.

13.01.2008 0:11, BO.

Help me determine it.
Brought it out of the chrysalis. 7.09.07. Brought from Kazakhstan, border with Astrakhan region.
I think I also saw it from a distance.

Please identify these fatheads and one blackie!!!

1, 4, 7, 8 - Carterocephalus silvicola
2, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 - Ochlodes sylvanus
3-Thymelicus sp., since the female -- needs an underside.
With chernushka I find it difficult-there are only two types of them in the Moscow region, but they differ again in their underwear. E. ligea can be found everywhere in the forests, and E. aethiops can also be found on the Oka River.
