Hello. I tried to identify this murmur here. As if it were Epistrophe grossulariae. But is it found in the Moscow region confused.gif
Filmed in the Moscow region on July 28, 2010.

Epistrophe grossulariae (Meigen, 1822) is common in the Moscow region.

I forgot to add that the best (albeit slightly outdated) key for today is:

Doczkal D. & Schmid U. Drei neue Arten der Gattung Epistrophe (Diptera: Syrphidae), mit einem Bestimmungsschlüssel für die deutschen Arten // Stuttgarter Beitraege zur Naturkunde. — 1994. — Serie A (Biologie). — № 507. — S. 1–32.

From the photo, you can only determine in the first approximation, it may not be Epistrophe grossulariae.

Cheilosia sp. (Syrphidae), a very species-rich genus, more precisely from the photo is not worth it.

John-ST ( Zheleznodorozhny) and the photographic materials I viewed almost convinced me that there was a fly in the picture. I would like to know something else about it, if not about the species, then about the stage of development. The picture was taken in Chelyabinsk on May 16 this year. The size is about 6 mm. I was shooting near a swamp.

This is a sciomyzid (Diptera, Sciomyzidae), most likely Sepedon sp. or a close relative.

You need to try to register with other soaps, they ban certain root parts, apparently because of spam. I initially registered under @yandex.ru, not taken to the sandbox, well, I'm under @narod.ru got through ))))))))))

1-3 OK
4-this is not Empis sp., it looks like something like ~ Lauxaniidae ~ Heleomyzidae ~ Opomyzidae
5-6 "komaridze" - exactly Empididae
7-tactfully silent for tahina
8-lion
9-Xanthogramma festivum (Syrphidae), female

I have mail.ru we didn't miss it, but @qip.ru missed it, returned "Your registration is almost complete, you will receive an email containing your login details along with a link to verify your account." and that's it ... the password is not accepted, you can't log in anyway

Astrakhan. 17may.

To paraphrase a quote from the legendary film - " Who will put him in jail?! He is a monument!", I will say: "Who will define it here?! It's a mosquito larva!" Actually I've already wrote about the current situation here with specialists in dipterology, but I can also remind you that it makes sense to merge all the larvae and imago of mosquitoes to the Dutch. wink.gif

It is not a vespiforme, but T. meridionale Krivosheina & Mamaev, 1962 is a very rare species. Great luck! If possible, sparrow, share the label-Moscow region on the northern border of the range.
