Please tell me if I identified the flies correctly. Eristalis lineata. Tatarstan, Neb. Naberezhnye Chelny. 22.07.2011.

Excuse me, but what source did you use to determine them?

23.07.2011 5:19, С Олег

On http://www.diptera. I defined them, purely externally. That's why I'm not sure I got it right.

You probably meant diptera.info smile.gifMost likely, it is indeed E. lineata (Harris) (in Stackelberg, 1970 - E. horticola). And its correct modern name is again E. horticola (De Geer), i.e. the old name was bought back in 2006, after a short triumph of E. lineata. And glory to G-d!

it looks like on the middle back behind the seam 3 ac. This means that L. caesar, L. ampullacea, L. bufonivora, and L. illustris are eliminated. To think further, I need an instance. I can't tell you anything from the photo.

Hello!

Tell me, what is this fly?
I once skinned a capercaillie in the bathroom, and it flew out from under the feathers and landed on my leg, and I slapped it, but I didn't kill it. It is flat and hard, and seems to live under the fur and feathers of animals and birds. Very fond of sitting on open skin. What she eats and where she lives. So today I found one in my apartment...

This is a bloodsucking fly (family Hippoboscidae). Representatives of this family are ectoparasites of mammals and birds. They feed on blood.
