(Voronezh region)

1 in the spring I took away Bombylius discolor from the spider on the viper bow

3 end of July, mixed forest sem. Asilidae with similar coloration many genera and species?

September 5, on the thistle Eristalis intracaria, female or as an option E. oestracea, very shabby fly!
6 summer, Novousmanskiyr-n on the left I will assume Tabanus autumnalis?
1 - I'm confused by this one http://coleop123.narod.ru/diptera/Bombylius_discolor.htm so, by their definition, it turns out that I have Bombylius medius L

3 - how do I specify it?

5 -(Eristalis intricaria?) mine has no orange spots on the abdomen - it is completely black, only a white "fluff" at the end.

6-no, mine is completely gray, and on the abdomen here is apicture: P1011137.JPG pictorial

On the first two - Temnostoma, and on the first one T. vespiforme seems to mate, and on the second one the female is more similar to T. meridionale, which is much rarer. If the female from the second photo is taken in a different place, I am for T. meridionale.

The third photo shows Criorhina, asilica most likely. For me, this genus is unfamiliar, maybe Alex 2611 will tell you something.

But what flies! These species (Temnostoma, Criorhina) are extremely rare in the Steppe. For example, in the Donetsk region, both genders were observed only in the XIX century, not later.

I already know that they are listed in the Criminal Code of Ukraine. We still have them-I shot them in previous years, mostly in the clearing under the power LINE

Only T. meridionale is recorded, and that was history... In addition to it, in the European part there are several species of temnostom. Criorhina is not listed.

I don't trust my own definitions when a specialist determines that the accuracy is higher. After all, I only take pictures, and all animals, and when determining a narrow specialization is important. Therefore, I can re-define rolleyes.gif

Vitaly good morning! Of course, it's nice to hear this specialist in his address, but I don't even have a biological education. I just collect diptera, identify them as best I can, and help others. On the forum diptera are not very popular, but in vain. Yes, and with the literature on this unit is not very. Your photo is of good quality. It is advisable to set several angles. Sincerely beer.gifyours
