5. I still vote for Chalcosyrphus valgus. Although you should certainly look at the instance.

5. No, not Chalcosyrphus nemorum. Maybe Xylota segnis? I can't say for sure without a copy.

Do you remember the place??
This species is not found in the fauna of Finland. Not the Karelian Isthmus? Further south?

And again about the sad.
Here are the flies I see very often, mostly in August.
Apparently, these are flower flies.
I know this is a large and difficult group to identify, but what if these particular flies are identifiable?

Remember. This is really to the south, the Novgorod region, Khvoynensky district. Most of my pictures are from there.

And here's another fly. I thought she was Tahina, but then I thought I might be wrong.
If you can identify at least a family, please write down who it is.

There is trouble with flies on our forum, everyone is mostly interested in them on occasion or in addition to the main direction in separate groups, spread it on diptera. info

Good afternoon! A question for experts in the taxonomy of babblers.
The Inventory of useful insects of the Tatarstan River (2004) lists the species Syrphus arcuatus Fll.
On the website https://insecta.pro/taxonomy/893102 there is no taxon under this name.
Website https://www.gbif-uat.org/ indicates that S. arcuatus is a synonym for Eupeodes lapponicus (Zetterstedt, 1838)
Wikipedia gives S. arcuatus as a synonym for Dasysyrphus venustus (Meigen, 1822).
Please help me get to the bottom of the truth.

I apologize for the poor quality of the photo. The insect is small, no more than 5 millimeters approximately

It's a bird's bloodsucker. It doesn't touch people.

we are also sorry to catch to be able to determine. I wish you the same doctors and technologists who regret and do not understand microbes. Enjoy it as it is, without a name. Soda and soap, and no chemicals!
