Hello, help me determine who it is and what it is eaten with? Found in an apartment on the 6th floor, Moscow, 30.10.14. She may have brought it in her clothes from a run, but the trees in the park are long gone ..

The caterpillar enjoyed eating an iceberg lettuce leaf and nibbled on carrots, while it is still indifferent to cabbage and sits under the leaf.
Length about 3 cm

updt: I poured earth into the container, the caterpillar crawled, gnawed more carrots and dug in. Pupate?

Thailand, November 4.
At first I thought it was a chrysalis of a large butterfly, but now I think it's a rhinoceros beetle.
They say that children dig them up in the sandbox.

How to store it? while I put it in cotton wool.

still, it is a butterfly pupa, possibly a hawk moth. if you google it yourself make sure that the rhino pupa doesn't look smile.giflike this

Moreover, it is a pupa of the oleander hawk moth or its close relative, hypotous. A very beautiful butterfly and, judging by the darkening of the pupa's eyes, it is already developing. Put it in a box or jar so that it has the physical ability to climb up a twig or piece of cloth, otherwise it will not spread its wings. It should hatch in 7 days, but it all depends on the temperature. Try to squeeze her less these days.

05.11.2014 9:10, AlisaInAsia

I was fishing for oleander hawkmoth. as soon as it hatches, it will have to let go, because it hits the walls and doesn't eat anything.

Another couple of crakozyabras.

In my opinion, the caterpillar is very similar to Pyrrhia umbra. It is a pity that the forage plant remains unknown.
