Very similar to Dahlica karadagica

Dahlica lichenella is given for our region by Blue (#7. European southern taiga: Vologda, Kostroma and Kirov regions, Udmurt Republic).
Most likely it is.

Good evening, help me determine what kind of cocoonworm this caterpillar is? Sat on this plant, DPR, Novorossiya
[attachmentid ()=223373]

It appears to be the oak-leaved cocoonworm Gastropacha quercifolia. What color are the two dark spots near the head? If dark blue, then this is it.

SE Kazakhstan. Southern Balkhash region. The sands of Kushykzhal. On Ferul. 11. V. 2015
is similar to Malacosoma, but what is it???
1 picture: IMG_9578.jpg
This one is from the sagebrush steppe, but at home it ate lilac (only at night), and during the day it was buried in the ground.
I was thinking of taking her out, but before pupation I accidentally punctured her, and she died. Can I identify you?"
Found on April 24, it was going to pupate on May 6.

Caterpillars with this appearance are not only found in gamma, but also in some other metalloids.

Is it possible to identify a caterpillar on a nettle tree, Sakhalin on May 14, 2015 ?

In my opinion, something from Crambidae.

Identified as Xestia c-nigrum (Linnaeus, 1758). Is it correct? Sakhalin, May 7, 2015.

A similar appearance in the caterpillars of many scoops of this subfamily (+individual variability), so for reliable determination, you need to output.

They sit motionless, sometimes rolled up in a ring.

15.05.2015 15:14, okoem

They sit motionless, sometimes curled up in a ring.

So, apparently they are estivating. In this case, they will probably pupate only by autumn, then the butterfly will also come out.
Have you given them any kind of substrate to bury? You can offer, for example, moss. And from time to time moisten it so that the buried caterpillars do not dry out. But it is best to give them a substrate from their habitat: dry grass litter, wet or dry clay, marl, sand - what was there.

Alexanor, I already told you on that page that these are the caterpillars of Lacydes spectabilis, such a bear, a massive southern species. They now will not eat anything (although they eat absolutely everything, but beware of giving them juicy food), curl up in weak cocoons on the soil, sit there until August-September, then pupate and give butterflies in September.
