Good Evening.. On March 30, my wife found a goose on the asphalt and brought it to me. I, having identified it as a bear, decided that it had overwintered and was looking for a place to pupate. I put her in a jar of earth where a couple of last year's pupae were waiting to be released. after a couple of days, I realized that she was not in a hurry to become a butterfly and put her greens that were in the house, parsley and dill. she chose dill, which she ate for a few more days, after which she faded and continues to eat actively..I tried to give him nettles, but he doesn't eat them. leafing through the forum saw Phragmatobia fuliginosa, but that, like, as they write, there should not be already, and my head is red-brown and not black. the other dippers don't look alike, either. tell me plz....
Orel, today..

Good evening. This afternoon I found a caterpillar in the tub-I saved it. I don't think I've ever seen one before. "Not from Belyanok, by any chance?"

Today, on a birch leaf, twigs of which are on my desk, I found these larvae. They sit in covers, eat and move around in them, the size of the house is 7 mm. Whose larva could it be?

Here-such a caterpillar has become my pet against the will of the owner-recently brought on the branches of an oak tree for feeding stick insects:

picture: ______3081.jpg

I would like to know what might come out of it in the end. to decide whether to keep and feed another mouthful or release.

I'd say it's Orthosia cruda, but it's too early...

Perhaps this caterpillar has been living in my apartment for a long time, since the oak leaves unfolded, that is, approximately from the middle of April, crawling from branch to branch, and in the warmth it grew faster. On the 25th, I saw on a branch placed on another table, very similar, but smaller in size (although the photo is very specific):

picture: ______2769.jpg

So I'll cut it until it's clear. There are already a lot of oak leaves now, stick insects will not remain hungry.

01.05.2016 8:57, insectamo

In my opinion, the second photo also shows Orthosia cruda.

Tell me what kind of larvae, please.
Novosibirsk, a park, mostly pine-birch, in a rotten birch stump.
Is it possible to remove an adult insect from them?...

As soon as I saw it, I immediately realized that it reeks of katokalina from a kilometer away. This is the common Lygephila pastinum.

Here-such leaf wrappers annually in the spring cruelly eat oaks in one Donetsk forest, but this year their number is out of the ordinary, whole garlands hang from the trees:

A little later, a lot of green butterflies usually fly in the same place, I strongly suspect that these caterpillars are theirs.

For example, Tortrix viridana, but there are other leafhoppers (though not green) with similar caterpillars found at the same time on oak
