By the way, during the night she still chewed a little dandelion.

If it is a fuliginosa, then it will not eat dandelion! Try giving nettle.

Good day to all! Please help me identify my little find...I occasionally find very small larvae at home, literally 1-2 mm, similar to very small caterpillars, when I find them they do not move, they seem dead! I attach two photos, near and far, to orient them by size. Who can it be and how to get rid of it? It seems harmless, but unpleasant...ryazan region

If I'm not mistaken, the first photo barely shows the long hairs on the tail of the larva. Then maybe a leatherworm larva.

Lipetsk region. Someone very small (in the photo, the finger of the hand)
I don't understand who, or the newborn goldeneye?

Where and when was it taken? Is it triungulin by any chance?

In the Galichya Gora Nature Reserve, near Gorely les, July,
I saw triungulins there, but they are larger, and orange

14.11.2016 11:18, ИНО

So they are greedy, from several families of beetles, not counting the whole order of fan-winged ones, they differ in different colors and sizes at times. I also see in this tiny speck in the photo either triungulin (beetle), or triunuglin-like beetle larva (for example, ground beetles), but certainly not the larva of goldeneye.

Maybe Agrochola lota?
You should still write that it eats.

I do not know what it eats. Mown down possibly from yarrow. I didn't eat anything, I went to winter quarters. Agrochola lota I bred this year, the caterpillar is completely different.

Or maybe snails

I haven't seen the snail clutch except from the ampularia, but it's covered with a hard shell and is out of the water. And in amphibians, such caviar "cords"are common.
By the way, for the request "snail caviar" Google gives out very appetizing pictures ))

It is similar to the laying of pond fish (Lymnaea sp.). And the place is characteristic.

Similar.
What about your bear tracks?

17.11.2016 21:35, ИНО

The largest cocoons have begun to be woven, however, so far, I'm not sure that they are for pupation. Once upon a time, a caterpillar of this species wove a cocoon for molting at the last age. There are also many individuals that are 1-2 years behind in development. Yesterday I put different ages in different banks.

Have you looked at the color of the abdominal legs (basal segments) of the villika and the one that is presumably fuliginosa?

17.11.2016 21:49, ИНО

Villika has a purple - red color (I've never seen anything else), and the other one has a black color, similar to the color of her head. The last one sleeps curled up in a ball, I'll probably put it under the balcony door for the winter, it's quite cold there. But first I'll try to give you some nettles.

The willy has a very different body color and "coat", there are pure black, there are red, there are striped. Is it individual variation or sexual dimorphism?

I don't know if it's sexual, but in general, the color of caterpillars is very variable. And when determining the color, you should not focus on it. Fuliginosa, by the way, is also very variable in color: red, brown, black. It is interesting that in the definitions of Lavrov, 1938 and Mamaev, 1972, for fuliginosis, white or dark stigmas are not indicated, and in photos from different sites you can often see just the opposite.
Fuliginosa, like other bears, can eat a lot of things. For example, in winter, when plants are no longer found in nature , you can feed bear caterpillars (those that winter in nature at the caterpillar stage) with store-bought salad, if you need to breed butterflies without diapause.
Some breeding information can be found here:

By the way, fuliginosis, if it is warm enough, can pupate and hatch without diapause.
