I have pupated one caterpillar and got this pupa. but it seems to me that the pupa is under-pupated because it has a head and it resembles a butterfly without wings.(did she pupate or not?)

is it really possible to determine the catocal from the tracks to the type?

14.05.2012 16:54, vasiliy-feoktistov

is it really possible to determine the catocal from the tracks to the type?

And why not? As an example, there are 3 types:
Catocala nupta
Catocala fraxini
And from the Sungaya website
Catocala promissa (she's down there.)
They differ like all caterpillars.

Can you tell me who it is? I didn't shoot it, but it's interesting. The face of this larva reminds me of an earwig.
These larvae live in the ground at someone's dacha. Moscow region, I think.

First I noticed the pupae, then I began to look more closely at the greenery. I don't know what kind of tree it is (

This is not a larva, but already a pupa of a beetle. In my opinion, from the family of Cantharidae (softlings).

Today we found this egg on the asphalt near the house. It bounced around very merrily and we took it home. They put me in a jar. Periodically, it rolls and jumps. I would like to know who will hatch from it and when? Inside, you can see some kind of worm with eyes, you can see them in the photo. When it moves inside, the egg jumps to a height of about 2.5 cm.
