It is just easier for me to buy a long light bulb with a lamp (20 W, 220 V) for 300 rubles. than to buy a DRL, messing with the throttle, etc.

26.03.2007 12:20, omar

Now the construction markets are full of DRLOCS that work directly, without a throttle.

It's just easier for me to buy a long light bulb with a lamp (20 W, 220 V) for 300 rubles., than to buy a DRL, mess with the throttle, etc.

Just with the throttle to tinker almost no need, just connect the wires. Certain difficulties arise when splitting the flask (I had them, see abovesmile.gif). But the effect is worth the effort.

2 omar: do you remember the markings of these lamps? And then maybe this DRV is issued for DRL?

26.03.2007 13:02, Kristy

omar, what are the names of these lamps that are without a throttle and who is the manufacturer? Now the market is full of everything and I would not like to buy any lamp that will not attract insects. And, they say, there are also those that have the opposite effect-they scare you away.
I saw different lamps on the market, similar to our DRL, but I don't know which one to buy, and their price is not small.
By the way, it is not clear, DRL is a high-pressure mercury lamp, so called. And why high? There also seems to be a reverse vacuum confused.gif

26.03.2007 13:12, Bad Den

Kristy, there are also Philips analogs called HPL, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think I've heard anything about others.

So they are called - according to the marking-DRL. On the box there is an indication-directly. You can also ask the seller, for clarity. Only recently, on trial, yesterday I bought one, it says that it is Polish. The seller said that it serves longer than the Russian one. The price, by the way, is only 160 rubles for 250V

people!
Can I sum it up?
after all, everyone learned something for themselves from the discussion of the topic...
My opinion is the best choice of a lamp for a DRL 250-400-600 light trap with
a broken bulb!
and I don't see any point in reinventing the wheel...

03.04.2007 10:08, entomolog

It makes no sense to take more powerful than 250 W, otherwise the lamp illuminates the territory within a radius of 200 meters. Accordingly, insects settle 15-20 meters away from the screen, unnoticed by the catcher.

03.04.2007 20:20, Zhuk

I also have a DRL 250. In my opinion, the best. And I, by the way, did not buy it, but simply disassembled the old lantern (which are on the polessmile.gif) and took the drosel and everything else from there. Kachegarit is not bad wink.gif

Can I ask you a question?
Have any of you ever dealt with all three options?
I'll give you my opinion:
Each model is applicable to its own conditions!
for example in remote deserted places DRL 250 and possibly DRL 125 will be enough!
But in the conditions of suburban areas or the proximity of cities, the best results are given by DRL 400-600 or a combination (DRL 400x250 / 125, DRL 600x250/125) with a periodicity of 30-40 minutes (based on personal experience)!
And yet my opinion is that the topic with lamps is exhausted!
But attention to the material for the screen in this forum was given och. malo!
Does anyone know which fabric reflects UV light most strongly?
And one more thing!
There was an opinion that washing and bleaching contribute to the absorption of ultraviolet radiation by the fabric...
So I came across a completely opposite opinion!
In the literature devoted to HUNTING, on the contrary, it is not recommended to wash and bleach
clothes with modern powders and bleachers. they contain elements that contribute to the reflection of ultraviolet light (perhaps this makes the fabric seem cleaner) what scares away game, and in our case lures!

I've heard about it too. I tried to hang an old yellow sheet and a new white one. So here on the old flew more. Once I caught finally without a screen (on the roof of the housesmile.gif) and, again, everything flew in heaps.

By the way!
Here's another thing!
I can answer for the visible part of the spectrum...
DRL 250 and DRL 400 (in a torn state) are not much different in terms of lighting!
and there can't possibly be 200 meters!
because a lamp with a broken bulb shines much weaker!

03.04.2007 21:36, Zhuk

By the way, here's the whole technique smile.gif

I certainly have more serious equipment...

Zhuk, so do you use the DRV?

to Zhuk:
Oh, Laura!
Oh, come on!
Everyone goes through it!
And I did! And at the same time caught even a little!
All right! but my advice is to break the lamp!
Delirium is all about peeling skin and burned eyes!
Sunglasses, a panama hat and everything else!
And the catch is 2 times more!

05.04.2007 18:16, Pavel Morozov

americanecz, don't embarrass the young cadres!
Although the skin does not peel off, but the next day the feeling (hereinafter-the phrase is not mine) of "pricked Christmas tree toys in the eyes" and photophobia are provided.
Man, watch out, guys. This is what a person who has passed through photokeratoconjunctivitis says to you.
umnik.gif

But I myself still also stab DRL prefer beer.gif

05.04.2007 18:30, americanecz

Morozzz!
I've been fishing for a broken DRL 400 for 4 years... occasionally changing it to 250 or 600!
I bought special glasses two years ago...
And for 4 years, no conjunctivitis, no burns and even a chocolate tan!
By the way, serious equipment I just got at the age of Zhuk'a appeared!

this message is not authorized - is it americanecz?
Because I don't like dark glasses, not everything is visible in them.
But the idea of "spoiling nature" is a good one. I would, for example, mess up.

So what's the problem?
I'm always happy!
Senior comrade and all that! =)))
Any suggestions?

05.04.2007 19:30, Pavel Morozov

I think it's worth fishing for a light bulb somewhere in April towards the end.
I want to collect Siversi tufts, badiata moth is also a tasty morsel. It would be necessary to prepare a bait for the shovels, if it's a warm night in early spring-so they will come together-don't worry, Mom!
On light I collect at the dacha near Zvenigorod.
Where do you spend your training sessions?

05.04.2007 19:38, Zhuk

Oops, it's right next to me smile.gif. I'm fishing in the Ruzsky district. In other places Lenkovo.

06.04.2007 22:31, americanecz

to Morozzz.
in the last couple of years, mostly at the dacha, in the Sergiev Posad district, or at the dacha of some friends in the Tula and Ryazan regions!
As for the tidbits...
For example, I don't have one pavonia!

07.04.2007 9:59, Pavel Morozov

by the way, pavonia flies to the light-females, but so far I only got one near Zvenigorod last year - on June 2.
Female tau and endromis fly well into the light.

Female tau and endromis fly well into the light.

Can I tell you more about Tau? Is it near Zvenigorod? I had her caught a hundred years ago. The Ruza Museum of Local Lore has a collection. One day in May I saw a light yellow snowball flying fast. Maybe she was...

07.04.2007 17:09, americanecz

Yes! As for the early species, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get out after the endromis!

07.04.2007 19:54, guest: Morozzz

For endromis it is necessary in the 3rd decade of April-to be sure.
But the tau near Zvenigorod (Khlyupino-Chigasovo) is very common. Yes, and everywhere it is also common - even on Elk Island, even in Filevsky Park.
In general, tau flies from the end of April, the peak of summer in mid-May (depending on the weather, spring in general). Mass growth (at least near Zvenigorod) begins with the appearance of foliage on a birch tree. Some specimens are found even in June.
An interesting population in the vicinity of the Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve - there are butterflies with a well-defined dark border, there are even melanists.
A typical biotope in the Moscow region is deciduous forests, mixed forests (especially undergrowth of young linden trees), and forest edges.
IN ORDER NOT TO DEVIATE FROM THE MAIN TOPIC, I will add that females come to the world, apparently having already laid eggs.
It was funny on June 2-3 last year at the dacha. Early in the morning I was walking through the garden association, looking at the lampposts, and on the fence grid under the lantern I saw a pair of "withered last year's leaves" hanging - they were female tau. Masking class!

09.04.2007 23:23, americanecz

And today I ordered two screens (3mx3m) for myself in a sewing workshop!
One from "calico" the other from "Gabardine" or "Kabardine" I don't remember exactly!
In short the first is HB and the second with an admixture of synthetics!
Now the season starts let's see what will give the best results!

09.04.2007 23:33, Aleksey Adamov

You haven't heard about "fiberglass", in our fishing villages it is impregnated with tar (resin) and "patched" by aluminum and plexiglass boats. This fabric does not glow under UV rays???
I've saved up a few meters, but there's no place to check yet.

09.04.2007 23:53, americanecz

If that's what I think it is, then yes...
this is n krupnocheistuyu burlap svidu looks like, right?

09.04.2007 23:55, Aleksey Adamov

Yes, like burlap, heavy fabric, with large fibrous threads.

10.04.2007 0:01, americanecz

I can't say for sure...
But I don't think it will be of any use to me at all...
Yes! here's another tip!
Maybe so many already do, but I'll still voice it!
I advise you to put a film for a greenhouse under the screen that lies on the ground, or something similar!
Because dew dirt and the juice of fresh grass will make a white cloth hz. what!

10.04.2007 0:05, Aleksey Adamov

I'll try fishing, if necessary.
By the way, I thought instead of the bottom sheet, to make something like a funnel (guide chute) from a plastic film leading to a vessel with a lock.
Are these things familiar? What are the reviews?

10.04.2007 0:15, americanecz

It depends on the purpose for which you catch...
For example, I personally would not recommend fluffy butterflies under glass!
And in general, this is nonsense!
They're all going to get lost in a bunch, pick them up later!

10.04.2007 0:19, Aleksey Adamov

You can use a grid to block them (butterflies) from getting to the retainer.
