Yes, the one with the speckles. It stands out from the general series of the subgenus Ceroglossus.

Apologies, a small clarification: Ceroglossus is a genus.

I apologize, a small clarification: Ceroglossus is a genus.

Karabusy and Chili karabusy! But technically, of course, you're right. By the way, I'm also currently watching Coptolabrus (? incl.Acoptolabrus, Damaster) is about to be officially elevated to generic status, some already cite them without mentioning Carabus, in fact considering them as an independent genus. And this would be generally understandable for such an archaic and isolated group.

I bow down to the beetles. How can you tell them apart?!Tiny and almost identical.

some one hundred percent on the genitals probably

12.09.2009 16:44, RippeR

for a long time now, everything has been going to the fact that karabusov will be taken to break up in childbirth. On the one hand, it is understandable in view of their diversity, on the other hand, they have too much in common. All the same, in this case, the relationship will be, one might say, a formality. ass I think smile.gif

Well, it's you, sir, in vain. Bugs are also all different. There are also not tiny ones, for example, I know others for 100 kg. smile.gif

I apologize for the OFFTOP. In my opinion, this is not necessary. Of course, the group is complex and individual subgenera have acquired a high degree of morphological changes in the course of evolution. However, to consider this complex as part of the genus, IMHO, would be correct. It has a single development center. Its division into two large groups (Kryzhanovsky) - Carabus brevimandibulari (short-jawed), the most primitive and Carabus longimandibulari (long-jawed), which have undergone high radiation adaptation-is natural. Fragmentation (which has already been repeatedly used) will make the taxonomy of the genus unnatural.

There are no sauces in Chile. And the subgenus Damaster (incl. Coptolabrus according to the last Blumenthal) in Neocarabi is quite "young" and advanced, for example, in relation to the basal group of subgenera, such as Apotomopterus, Limnocarabus...
