Gynaephora angelus (Tschetverikov, 1904) Khakassia, Ust-Abakan district, Khakassky Nature Reserve, Oglakhty steppe cluster, mixed-grass hilly steppe. 7.08.19. Leg. Maximov R
was originally taken by me for the unusual shape of the fascelina, but thanks to Konung-y for correcting it. It turns out that this is another new wave for Khakassia and the South of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Judging by the Catalog, before it was caught only in Tuva and Altai.
P.S. Special thanks to Mikhail Ivanov (MIV) for editing the photo!

The appearance is quite banal, but the color form of males is unusual. So I decided to post it.

Svyatoslav, thank you for the correction! I wasn't familiar with this species, which is understandable. According to the Catalog, it was previously caught only in Tuva and Altai. In general, I am even glad that I messed up with the definition, as there is a reason to congratulate you on finding another unmarked species for Khakassia and the South of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Yes, I did a little digging in my papers and it turned out that V. D. Kozhenchikov still marked him for us as Dasychira angelus (Tschetverikov, 1904), and a year later I will check and dig through his works. Most likely in 1923. beer.gif

Lymantria (Pyramocera) barica (Mabille, 1879)
It is also endemic to Madagascar. The morphology of this species is so unique that A. Schintlmeister, in his revision of the genus Lymantria in 2004, separated it into a separate subgenus Pyramocera.

In the genus Lymantica Collenette, 1936, a very diverse group is now collected. A. Schintlmeister identified about half of the species in the subgenus Griveaudtria (Shintlmeister, 2004) of the genus Lymantria Hübner, 1819. The rest also require parsing. In the meantime, along with the previous species, this one remains, more similar to the representative of the tribe Leucomini.
Lymantica pruinosa (Butler, 1879)
Close-up view. The male's legs are partly pink, while the female's are black. As often happens in sexual dimorphism, the male and female were initially described as different species.
