That's good. Thanks! Do not be angry with your colleagues, it is better to just look at the hawk moth - and your mood will immediately improve, because they are so pleasing to the eye. And good health to you in the coming year!

Dear friends and colleagues,
I've had a little, as they say, "booze" today.
The site doesn't like me, I don't know, maybe because I always tell the truth.
In 1978, I met an amazing woman, Zoya Markovna Ganevskaya! When I went to her house, I immediately fell in love with the hawk moth Smerinthus ocellatus! I fell in love with the hawk moth with all my heart, with all my head!!! Hawkmoth is truly the smartest and most beautiful butterfly!!! Any ornithoptera, no matter how beautiful, is not up to them! Hawkmoth-mysterious butterflies! Let them say that they are well studied, this is not so....... Happy forever is the one who loves hawkmoth!!! Love your neighbor, the hawk moth! May there be peace on Earth for those who love hawkmoth! With deep respect, George.

If, judging by the emoticons, my curses will cause fun and delight, then you will not wait. As the curator of the topic, I'll just delete lobuda and that's it.
No one blames you for anything.
Please do not clog up the topic. Create useful messages.

To get back to the topic, I attach a photo. Here you need the help of participants.
Pictured is Eupanacra sp., Central Nepal, Pokhara neighborhood, Phewa Lake, h=830 m, July, 2008. The copy itself (or rather, the series) has long been given to someone. And now I just decided to clarify for myself what kind of view it is.
There are two variants, it seems to me that this is Eupanacra mydon (Walker, 1856), but somehow, here, I can't be sure that this is not Eupanacra metallica (Butler, 1875).
Your opinion, colleagues?

Yes, there are two variants, but rather a male E. mydon, also with a more contrasting back color.

Mimas tiliae/ This is a rather interesting form of "f. centripuncta"
It is a pity that some forms are not valid. Forms can be valid if the deviation from the nominative has no gradation. For example, the form f. brunnea is constant, and it may well be valid.

From bottom to top and from left to right. When fishing in Tajikistan, I come across a white one ( the old Anzob pass), in New Caledonia – increta or menefron ( its subspecies?), I go to the sea( Gelendzhik) I catch a contrasting bindweed, in Colombia it reminds me of cingulate, in Peru manduki ( by the way, who is it? upper right).
They are all different, but so similar! confused.gif How to determine on the spot so as not to take extra money? mol.gif You need to determine it at homewall.gif, but in the field you need to shoot the entire screen umnik.gif(I remember Kolya Ivshin's instructions beer.gifagain).

More like Manduca pellenia

White (light) In Eurasia and Africa, it's just its females. Males are much more contrasting and darker colored. Look at the mustache!

Friends, don't forget my experience. For hawkmoth in Peru November-December on the 10th, then February-March (but twilight hawkmoth will be significantly less than in November).

I am well aware of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. There, forms don't have any weight. They are not taxa. Causes of forms: temperature, humidity, genetic processes, and so on. I agree that I wrote there incorrectly, not in detail. They just didn't understand me, didn't understand the meaning. To return to this topic , you need to work through everything, understand the terminology, etc. There I wrote quickly and not quite deliberately.
Thank you for treating me appropriately.
But I will read and re-study the zoological code, as you wrote to me.

As the curator of the forum, I want to address you.
Some forum participants call names, insult, and treat others ignorantly.
I ask you, in addition to comments about off-topic chatter, to stop these curses, insults and spitting. Otherwise, the forum turns into "semi-material skirmishes". I also swore, but in self-defense. Sincerely, George.

Thank you for your understanding.
Believe me, no one wanted and does not want to offend you. Moreover, there is no transition to personalities here, in fact.
It is possible that someone's directness might seem to you like some kind of aggression, but this is not so. The text, even with exclamations and emoticons, will never convey the real emotional coloring of any message. This, of course, may lead to misunderstandings.

Sincerely,
Pavel cool.gif

Personally, I have no purpose, desire, or time to offend anyone. However, in the case of a blatant error of judgment, I point it out directly and in words that describe this very error as briefly and succinctly as possible. I reserve the right to continue to do the same, since I proceed from a simple assumption: if a person postulates something, he at least understands it.

I have an old edition of the codex, and I knew it mostly earlier than I do now. So it doesn't make much sense to be envious.

It is better to delve into psychology on some forum of psychologists, but here it is better to delve into the relevant topic.
If you want to have a discussion, why not create a separate topic and then sort out the relationship, by the way, observing ethics (yes, this concerns you no less)
Criticism and comments on your messages are objective. And you don't need to perceive them as imaginary aggression.

consider this "the last Chinese warning"
Calm down, finally.

frown.gif  no.gif For Sergey 71 and Elizar. I have already written about the color scheme of elpenor caterpillars. Out of the hundreds of caterpillars found, there are at least 5-10 green ones of the latest age, i.e. in L5.
Elizar. You are acting extremely dishonest by posting a green elpenor uniform at the last age, and write that only brown ones. Erix.

I met the green one once, but it was infected

I met the green one once, but it was infected

I often met green Alpenors. Also bred in the mass, where the green was about 30-40 % (from 140 caterpillars). If the number of Elpenors is high, then there are more caterpillars affected by tachina. Of the 10-14 caterpillars found, only 2 successfully pupated and gave an imago, the rest were affected. Thank you for reminding me.

We have a lot of tension with wild honeysuckle, that's why I asked. I've only ever found caterpillars in the cultural landscape.

Hello, Pavel! (Morozzz)
What happened to the forum configuration??? At the beginning of 1 page, then there is a list of messages. What happened? Is there any work going on on the site, or will it be so different?
All the best George. (Erix--totzhe)/
