Nothing happened to the forum.
You just need to switch the "Appearance" from "scheme" to "standard" at the top, on the left
, as I emphasized smile.gif

Proserpine does not migrate over long distances. The question, in my opinion, is complicated. The view is not local. I have found its caterpillars in biotopes where it was previously absent for many years (I can't say exactly how many years).

It does not migrate, but it can gradually expand its range to the north, as many species do now, both diurnal and nocturnal.

I agree with you. In the Manfred-a Koch-a atlas, the view is local, you can argue, but you should not manipulate only intuitions, I mean myself.

21.06.2015 9:00, rhopalocera.com

I think it migrates like any strong flyer. This is a general biological survival strategy - to expand the range as much as possible with the maximum available number of methods. So until it is proved by special studies that she does not migrate, I accept her a priori as a migrant, since for her namesakes it is repeatedly proved that they are migrants. And Koch's book is old, you shouldn't rely on it too much, and it was written, in general, for Germany (and not for the whole country).

I agree that it migrates, but of course, not like for example Agrius convolvuli. I'm not an expert on this topic, but it is likely that the radius of its flights (Proserpine) can be 5 km. I have proof of this from observation. A really strong flyer. You can rely on his physical abilities!

Good evening! An hour ago, I caught a fresh pine hawk moth on the flowers. I always thought that by the middle of July they would have finished their school years, but here I got a fresh one. Is this the norm for this species?

In the Leningrad region, pine and elpenor trees are found later, including the first decade of August, and not always broken. In cold years, the years are stretched out. Moscow doesn't seem to have a particularly warm season either.

Yevgeniy88, did they run away from your plate? And the leaves probably dried very quickly.

29.07.2015 21:00, Евгений88

not where not who didn't have time to run away I have everything under control)and at the expense of drying the leaves, there is one interesting way. With a container of water, I don't add much vodka. And everything is OK.

The caterpillar was found in the Olvia settlement in October 2007. It pupated immediately. The pupa remained at room temperature until May 12, 2008. Interestingly, two July pupae from the Crimea turned into an imago just a couple of months after pupation.
