Colias poliographus Motschulsky, I860, collected at the end of July 2015 in Kunashir. Above (white) and in the middle (yellow) both females, below - male. Large, the wingspan of the white female is 55 mm!

On ebay for$ 1,650 sold a blue yolk with optical coloring (like Apatura). Unfortunately, images are copied without magnification, so the optical nature of blue is poorly visible on the attached photos. I wonder how, in principle, such an aberration can occur?

An amazing specimen!In general, some species of jaundice(males) have orange fields that turn purple.From magenta to blue, the spectrum is not so far away, and if you"remove" the yellow pigment, just purple will become blue. But, still, an amazing specimen!!! And I don't know how you can estimate it at 1650?If such aberrations are not learned to do artificially, this copy is priceless!

Caught a butterfly of the genus colias, and a little off topic of the genus pontia. Unfortunately, I don't have any qualifiers for Uzbekistan.
The butterfly is similar to the female colias erate ssp.erate, but it is a male.
And the Central Asian representatives of the genus pontia are difficult for me.
Help with the definition.
