Yes, for bait, in my opinion, wine with yeast. But I just collected them on the oaks.

So lucky!

Life and death.
Killer and victim.
And the sympathies are more on the side of the winner.
Just like people...

The beauties in the photo interacted very interestingly. The male seemed to be "on the lookout". At my awkward movement, both dragonflies would take off, after a couple of minutes the male would return, fold and unfold his wings several times, and then the female would return.

Necrozoohomosyatina. Even progressive Europe has not reached this point yet, although it feels like it's coming soon. In case anyone didn't understand: not a single female crunch is there.

Collector, you have a typo in one of the titles.

And another unusual interaction. Or rather, it is quite common, but only for flies-empidids:

picture: _____2017_2548a.jpg

The most amazing thing for me is that this whole "pyramid" flies quite well, and only on the wings of a male. In this comparison, even the shape of a bumblebee that "can't fly" looks much more aerodynamic. The "chassis" is also produced by the male. And the female just eats and gets pleasure.

I thought I'd already seen all the possible kinds of sexual perversions beetles could do, but I was wrong. This time we were surprised by the bronzes of Protaetia aeruginosa:

is there a body down there?

No, necrophilia doesn't surprise me anymore. There's a bigger snag here: from below - the female, from above-too. At first, I thought that one of them had accidentally climbed on top of the other, but when this began to happen every day and continue for several hours in a row, it became clear that this was the first documented case of bug lesbianism. Interestingly, during the first month after the capture of such encroachments were not observed, the males were probably waiting. But they did not wait, and it rushed, as in the zone. Obviously, the genomes of both sexes are encoded with elements of male sexual behavior, and for some reason they were activated in one of the females.
