I don't think there was anyone to meet! And this species lives almost everywhere from France to Japan in the Palearctic, and in North America there are finds. As for Mordovia, one more point. Thanks! The view is very ordinary. Likes young growth of poplars and aspens.

I watched her 2 times in the first decade of June landed on a fallen large trunk of a silver poplar, flew in-sat on the trunk for 5 seconds and flew away...This is in the Kharkiv region. And the familiar Yura Skrylnik-even brought out a couple of seemingly twiggy branches

Oleg Grigorievich, in the Catalog of Lepidoptera (2008) for the 10th region (Middle Volga region) I did not find 4 types of glass jars known from Tatarstan according to lit. data.

Pennisetia hylaeiformis (Laspeyres, 1801) [Krul'kovsky, 1893, p. 23 (Kazan), Leontiev, 2012, p. 73 (Nizhnyaya Kama NP)],
Synanthedon andrenaeformis (Laspeyres, 1801) [Krul'kovsky, 1893, p. 21 (Chistopol uyezd)],
Synanthedon formicaeformis (Esper, 1783) [Krul., 1893, p. 22 (p. Novosheshminsk)
Chamaesphecia chalciformis (Hubner, 1796) [Krul., 1893, p. 23 (Spassky uyezd)].

Do you think the findings of these species in Tatarstan are real or are they errors in the identification of butterflies?

Thank you for the information! No, I don't think these are errors. They must live here.

Yes, in my opinion, all this is Ch. astatiformis.
As for the size, the size of glass jars of the same type can be very different.
Regarding the assignment of two butterflies from different locations to the same species, I first put them head-to-head and compare their whiskers under binoculars. In addition, I compare the color of the legs and head. For example, Ch. astatiformis has a white "stripe"in front of the eye.

Oleg, there is a pheromone (rubber stopper. impregnated with an attractant)!

30.06.2014 12:46, Penzyak

.. and where did you get such a large amount of attractant? ... yes, and probably a certain type of glass?? Is there really an available technology for "forcing out" attractants of a certain type of insect???

Slava, where exactly? I've been going myself for a long time, but I can't get my hands on it. Are there any pheromones from other families? If it's secret, you can send it to your personal account.

Victor, come to me in September at the fair-we will discuss!

Very interesting events are taking place in relation to glass windows! I've been interested in them for a long time, and I've read about foreign-made pheromones. But this is the first time I've read about practical applications. There are a lot of questions right away. I would appreciate your answers. You can go to the PM, of course. By the way, I don't collect butterflies myself, I just take pictures. So:
1. How much volume did you purchase?
2. How much does it cost (including shipping)?
3. what is the shelf life?
4. Are pheromones available for specific species?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

I display a box with my glass cases and brachodids close to them. All butterflies are collected in the Omsk region. Almost all glassworms, with rare exceptions, were caught this season on pheromones! (by the way, the striped moth also flew to the pheromones of glassworms!)
I will accept pre-orders for pheromones at the Moscow fair!
If you can't come to the fair, but want to try out pheromone fishing next year , you can send your orders to my email address: konungomsk@yandex.ru
picture: IMG_59812s.jpg
A little later, I will publish lists of species for which pheromones are available.
When ordering pheromones, I give detailed instructions about the method of fishing, which has many nuances.

The cost, shelf life, storage conditions, and average pheromone consumption can not be announced? And will these pheromones be used in Central Asia?
