Something amazing is happening in nature and we have never seen it before - with the hot spring, summer insect species are already emerging in our region (for example, near the village of Bikmurzino on the edge of an oak forest in the daytime, in summer we saw a male deer beetle!!?). Plant phenology exceeds 2-3 weeks...
Since we have been banned from entering the forest (it is a fire hazard), we make all the last trips to the south of the region. We were particularly pleased with the results of our trips to Neverskiy district (the junction of Ulyanovsk, Saratov and Penza regions).
The steppe is now very beautiful - irises, onosma, cornflower Marshall, broom, spirea, dogwood are blooming... almonds, cherries and blackthorn have long since faded!!
At the bottom of the gully, there is a mass of weevils and dracadions on the sand, T-shirts and blackbirds are not uncommon, and three more habitats of semi-desert ants of the steppe runner have been found.... Spring waters very strongly eroded the slopes of the steppe balconies, whole sandy rivers along the bottom.... Seryoga Shibaev is very pleased with the bee collections, there are clearly new species (possibly for the Middle Volga region)... We found quite a few rare plants - our botanists are just writing a new edition of their volume of the Red Book... In the photo, Ilya Glebov and I are standing on a slope overgrown with onosma Volzhskaya (the second point for the region, among other things, we found!).
The heat is monstrous for this time + 34 C in the shade....
Sweat is pouring down, ticks are everywhere, and there are hordes of hungry mosquitoes in the shade... But, all the torment is not in vain! I finally caught No. 152 a type of diary for the bull-whiskered fauna of the Penza region-Zegris eupheme Esper, 1805. A large female, a little flown and a little bird pokotsala... BUT THIS IS ZEGRIS !!! Of course, I assumed that we should have this species, but catching it in a steppe gully with special microclimatic conditions is something! Just a SEA of adrenaline and positive emotions - you don't experience this when fishing and hunting... I had to organize a small genacid for whiteflies and egg yolks which flew in those places the abyss... alas, probably the view has already flown away!!?
A third habitat, Pseudophilotes vicrama (Moore, 1865) ssp, was found in sandy-stony thyme stands with Dimanus Polikanin. schiffermuelleri (Hemming, 1929) for the region. Interestingly, it turns out that we did not find this species in a steppe gully with a considerable amount of thyme - but on a settled plot on the edge of a pine forest and oak forests there is (and so in all three points of the species ' habitat in our region!?). Probably there are some specific types of ants present here....

Last year, near Bikmurzin, both males and females were caught in the same biotope and at the same time - they do not have an immaculate conception...
they all "rubbed" at thyme bushes, fed on several flowering plants. When thyme bloomed-mostly on it. In fact, logically, males may well fly away from the C. R. G. of caterpillars - otherwise there would be no "gene drift" at all... Although I have repeatedly observed the phenomenon when a female bull-whiskered feather disappeared far from its biotope-clearly sowing good and eternal things in suitable biotopes...
Here is last year's photo of a male vikram feeding on thyme.

summer glistening wasps have already flown out too?

17.05.2012 10:57, Penzyak

On May 8, in the protected area "Shuro-Sirane" on dry oaks, they were quite good at catching wasps-glitters, there were quite a lot of them (fresh!). Mostly Polikanin caught them, I straightened them out (I caught the Germans and meria), Shibaev took the rest... three types, one of which particularly interested Seryoga... By the way, I caught a spruce orussus (CC RF, 2001) with a length of only 4 mm on a dry aspen tree when I was on guard for spangles...

Today marks World Environment Day and Ecologist's Day!!!

Effective solution of environmental problems is one of the key conditions for the sustainable development of states and improving the quality of life of citizens, said the head of Government, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Russian environmentalists on their professional holiday. Official website of the United Russia Party 11: 05

Environmental protection plays an important role in unlocking the country's potential, improving the quality of life of the population, developing business and production-with the support of innovative environmental technologies. Every region of Russia needs the participation of environmentalists in solving a variety of tasks, from waste disposal and street gardening to the effective functioning of the fuel and energy complex. Here are the latest summer photos from early July 2012. When we came to visit the school ecological camp "Visiting nature", night fishing for insects, day entomological excursions, fishing on the Belaya River, bonfire with fish soup, night with myriads of stars....
Oh, what a beauty, truly-SUMMER IS A SMALL LIFE!!!

In the Penza region, there are many different areas of riding and transitional marshes with cranberries - but I can't find aquilonaris!?? There are a couple of points with blueberries - there is no peatland yolk?? There are wet blueberries - there is a swamp pigeon... why isn't it in the blueberry swamps?? This is the year we look for jutta in those swamps and adjacent mixed forests and pine forests... also, there is no result yet... A lot of riddles in one word-I need research and researchers, I can't keep up with my colleagues everywhere.

On old film photos of June 27, 2006, Nikolskoye sphagnum swamp-catching marsh hayfish-C. tullia. Everything is shaking under my feet... you can see how I spread my arms for balancing... impressions are still the same.
The photo is one of a series of butterflies I collected - the species turned out to be extremely variable in wing pattern, even in one habitat point! Andrey Tatarinov wanted to write an article on the variability of the wing pattern of tullia in the European part of the Russian Federation , but when he received a series of photos of me and Shibaev from one point, he was puzzled.

.. we don't actually drink on excursions (trips are very expensive for us, since we almost always carry them out at our own expense) there is no time for these nonsense things. But when someone else's-like nerds begged, show me where you found what... there, yes, we take it in kind.... since you can't really work with them anyway (and often in botanical weather, as a rule).
And the word "break away" was used here in relation to the fact that they say-finally reached this type of scoliosis... photographed, watched, caught... oh, it's a pity to live there for a week - mark them, see the places of brood, etc.

Oleg, in principle, everyone chooses nothing against themselves, but if you saw how I and a very famous entomologist danced on the same board on the Molzheninovsky swamp, slapping their asses so as not to go under the plow, then you would change your orientation for the sake of business...And we caught 6 argus males, but..... gimmicks(

03.12.2012 17:40, Penzyak

Winter is a painstaking task for the entomologist to analyze entomological collections, freeze them, sort them into groups and identify species. We continue to determine the collection of insects from the territory of the Penza region.
The principle of complex collection of insects from various points of view brings amazing results! Thus, a selective revision of the most interesting, in my opinion, right-winged birds from my rich collection brought the discovery of a new species for the Volga region fauna, the Frivaldsky bush - loving Pholidoptera frivaldskyi (Herman 1871). This species is included in the new edition of the Red Book of Russia. It is also rare in Europe (green specimen in nature-from a foreign site).

Therefore, in environmental activities, it is necessary to stay away from the fascist "elite" and take their handouts with caution. But at X-hour, you can't hide in Patagonia-the ICBM will reach you there (the "elite" should think about evacuating further away, for example, to Mars).

With such conspiracy theories, argument is usually impossible for obvious reasons. In any case, natural landscapes are preserved - there is no" development "as such, these are not our "eco-centers". But who I would definitely stay away from is the nationalists who proclaim that countries should be "absolute masters of their natural resources."

With such conspiracy theories, argument is usually impossible for obvious reasons.
These obvious (at least to specialists) reasons are the lack of arguments. And not" as a rule", but always; there are no other reasons for the "impossibility of a dispute" on this issue. Bogeymen like "conspiracy theories" are not an argument; or are there few institutions in the world, and not the weakest ones, that exist for the sake of "conspiracies"? The entire written history of mankind is teeming with conspiracies, and to date no one has canceled them. Vaughn in Western social science, which does not care about the latest insights of Russian minds, the terms "imperialism", "neocolonialism", etc.are by no means banned today. And here any serious social determinism (economic in the first place) is only refuted, in the absence of critical counterarguments, by the stigma of "conspiracy theory". They make the word themselves, and they brand it themselves. But we were not talking about a" conspiracy " specifically, as far as I understand, we are still talking about political plans, plans, programs dictated by the economic interests of certain social groups. On the political strategy of competing states. This is why a competitor often helps you keep your nature fresher as much as if they were defending their own; while competitors have more than enough environmental problems at home, this concern can hardly be explained by an internationalist desire to simply preserve more greenery for the future of a unified humanity.
In any case, natural landscapes are preserved - there is no" development "as such, these are not our "eco-centers". But who I would definitely stay away from is the nationalists who proclaim that countries should be "absolute masters of their natural resources."
If the resources are really "their own", then the question of who should be "the absolute master of their natural resources" already contains the answer. Such "nationalism" can be found in any constitution. It does not interfere with the recognition of the global importance of a country's natural resources and interstate cooperation in this regard. Cosmopolitanism, which is put forward to refute this " nationalism "(which is not separable from the institution of the state), is not really against resource sovereignty as such, but only covers up the division of countries into those that should be "open" (i.e., they are obliged, without the right to enter the territories of metropolises, with green generosity to spread their own hooves before "centralization"), and those who are allowed to meddle in other people's resources (as well as in any business in general, everything is systematic here), but for some reason, without fear of accusations of "nationalism", carefully fence off their own. Business people consider their own only as their own, and the lullaby that "in any case, natural landscapes are preserved - there is no "development" as such", is left only for complacency of the good Papuans of the (neo)colonial territories who are balding with the joy of contacts with "civilization". In cosmopolitanism, which allows the interests of the capital of the dominant nations to climb into someone else's garden, we should look for real nationalism, and not in the desire to protect our own biotope from creeping occupation. Try to say that ecology in the third world is destroyed without the influence of industrial and other expansion of universal environmental teachers and benefactors.

More for dear T. Dracus! I don't mind about the" ecocenters", but the light didn't converge on them in a wedge. But with regard to nature reserves, I can add that what even within a country (socially divided) is sometimes passed off as a victory for environmental screamers and for the manifestation of environmental awareness of the authorities, such as the relatively recent annexation of the Lago-Naki plateau (in a broad sense) to the Caucasian Nature Reserve, is really an ordinary taking of land and its resources from the people, where fences and cordons with levies are put up for the people, and for the" elite " (not to say rougher) - ski slopes, roads, cable cars, cottages, etc., and not at all a priority "landscape conservation". About other reserves, too, a lot of unpleasant things are being heard today. Truly, "these are not our "eco-centers"", and the ball is ruled there by those who pretend to be part of the Russian people, and the people have long been perceived as part of the world's bloodsucking squad. It is enough to recognize at least the fact of the existence of a world currency with a single issuing center, and you are automatically also a supporter of the "conspiracy theory". The proponents of such a "conspiracy theory" are all somewhat literate, the only difference between them is who is a supporter and who is an opponent of a particular "conspiracy". Who benefits from covering their tracks by sponsoring the myth that the existence of conspiracies in recent history is a myth - conspirators or victims of conspiracies - is not difficult to guess three times.

Dracus meant that it is difficult to prove the existence of a conspiracy, as well as the opposite. In drunk and even sober companies, you will hear a lot about this topic: the Jewish-Masonic conspiracy, the Anglo-Saxon conspiracy, the cosmopolitan conspiracy, and the nationalist conspiracy... And they all cite "hard facts". From the press and TV. This is about how to study entomology according to mass media reports. smile.gif The security services know something. Presidents can know a lot. We can only theorize. Is it worth it?

Yes, very strange phrase at Dracusa, I would not sign for him, what he meant wink.gif

And now nature reserves are really more polygons for the tops of society, rather than areas intended for the conservation and study of biodiversity. Everything is exactly what happens, the territory is surrounded by a fence, even mushrooms can not be collected, but in some ways this is correct, since in such places it is dangerous to collect mushrooms - "ilita" can take for a moose and shoot smile.gif

This has one advantage. I remember that in the 90s they cut down our forests, even blew up the head of the district administration who was interfering with them. But they were not given one very good plot. According to legend, Chernomyrdin himself chose a place for a summer cottage there. Although he himself is not marked there, but they say that his son ran over. Allegedly, they said so: guys, do not touch this forest, there will be a dacha H-na. So one cottage with an area of 3 hectares "protects" the forest area for 100 hectares. And you can walk freely, but don't climb over the fence.

According to legend, Chernomyrdin himself chose a place for a summer cottage there. Although he himself is not marked there...
But he (and some others of the same kind) was repeatedly noted, according to rangers, on a helicopter hunt for ungulates over a circus with lakes (the source of the Labenok River, the village of Aishkha, the border of the Caucasian Reserve). On such days, I really did not want to get out of the booth for an entomological excursion to the sound of close gunfire... The raids were usually preceded by nondescript men in tracksuits, who ran up very steep slopes from bottom to top and, after looking into the circus, back down to the dirt track. Meeting me once, one of the uncles, feeling in his gut that I was not a Bass player, asked who I was catching here. I immediately asked him where he came from. He said that he was a runner from Sochi, that they were preparing for cross-country here (obviously, for cross-country on some very strange track, because he "trained" on a steep subalpine-alpine slope with a difference of almost 600 m and with vegetation in the lower part of the slope higher than a person's height). What kind of degenerate made up these excuses for them, I don't even want to think. I was about to tell him in reply, not about entomology, but that I was from Lubyanka, that we were waiting for a thief to go hunting here, and that under the guise of entomologists, we were making sure that all sorts of runners didn't roam around in the area of tomorrow's hunt, so that his crooked face would have stretched out; but, remembering that my race was just there was still a lot to do, so I decided to limit myself to referring to entomology (and thank God, because later it turned out that he had already learned from the huntsmen downstairs that visiting entomologists roam with nets in these places with their permission, and he asked me unnecessarily).

But if the labels of my collections at the turn of the millennium sounded very eco-friendly from the Lago Naki plateau, then later, for example, carabuses with localities from the vicinity of Fisht began to appear.: "at the dining room", "at the diesel station", "at the porch of the presidential house".

That is why it is worth learning to theorize, and not to chase after empirical particulars on a fundamental issue. I myself do not take the "conspiracies" you mentioned seriously, I just pointed out that "conspiracy theory" should not be used as a methodological bogeyman. The Kennedy brothers, Indira, Rajiv Gandhi, Olof Palme, Adolf Hitler, and many others, including the Saudi sheikhs, who dropped Gorbachev at the behest of Washington, could have confirmed to you that the blind element in society does not act apart from people and sometimes through conspiracies. could react to economic difficulties not to the detriment of the USSR) - world oil prices to a critical level for the economy of the USSR. But for all this, I speak of conspiracies (as a means of implementing plans) only in individual cases - for example, about unofficial events in 1944 against Hitler. But about the state plan "Barbarossa" and so on, I will never say "conspiracy", I will say "plan", "strategy", "operation", "special operation", "program" , etc. To someone who understands that our western airfields were not bombed by themselves on 22.06.1941, but in accordance with withIt's not like we're pointing out that he's obsessed with" conspiracy theories " and that it's useless to argue with him for obvious reasons... And the versions of "conspiracies" you have listed are concocted and sponsored by the same offices to satisfy all tastes, except, God forbid, the tastes of the literate, who only needs to understand which of the two classes is interested in ordering and is able to pay for special operations in civil society. The" nationality " or color of this sponsor's trousers is a specific one, not a historical trend. The special operations include, among other things, a smoke screen in the form of a bunch of stupid versions of "conspiracies", so that in case of anything, anyone would be beaten out of spite, just not this very sponsor.

That is why it is worth learning to theorize, and not to chase after empirical particulars on a fundamental issue.

However, in this case, it is not a matter of principle at all, otherwise the trees will not be visible behind the forest. Conspiracy theories are not a bogeyman, but a well-established term. The essence of such "theories" is that they are not scientific theories, at best hypotheses, since the possibility of falsification is completely leveled by the constant appeal to ignorance. Even worse, they are usually incredibly overcomplicated and lack a solid factual basis. And in the case of the original post, we are dealing with just such a hypothesis. Where did the information that "the military got to the bottom of this operation" come from? What is the link between IMP and the rise of environmental organizations in Chile? "An opinion is expressed...", etc. All general constructions in this case come across a lack of specifics. For me, the main thing is that the declared goals of Tompkins ' activities, according to the materials presented, do not contain contradictions with the activity itself, which allows us to believe in them. Are there any "cable cars", "trails", "cottages"in its parks? It is known that there is an inventory item regime, and visiting is quite possible.
Of course, these are not Jewish Masons, and I still consider the expressed version plausible, just baseless. But I didn't say "anyway"for nothing. "Empirical particulars" are important. I am surprised by such an outright harsh attitude to such initiatives also because the real conservation of biotopes on a large scale in the last 10-20 years, oddly enough, is often implemented by capitalists and liberals both at the state and private levels, and not by the left, for which, as I have recently formed an impression However, it is important to act "correctly" - first eliminate the root cause of the environmental crisis, and only then deal with the details (or maybe, as some of them believe, everything will even be solved by itself by then?). That's right, but the particulars can't wait (especially at this rate of eradication) and slowly die. Irrevocably. Will a bourgeois shelter save a valuable forest? Super, I will only be happy. Will you be banned from studying nature there? For private nature reserves, this is nonsense; in other cases, it is a consequence of either impure intentions or stupidity. Eventually, any fence will fall, but the forest will last for some time. The situation is similar with military training grounds, the purpose of which even outwardly does not overlap with the goals and ideals of environmentalists, but how many valuable sites have been preserved within these territories!
Of course, all this applies to cases where biotopes are actually protected. You should not confuse "ecocentres" and "estates" with them (just in case, by the former I meant projects like "Lunnaya Polyana"), because according to the original plan, these are directly opposite initiatives.

...So as not to be misunderstood or misunderstood again , I support any long-term conservation of biotopes; the global background is secondary if such conservation is successfully achieved.

This is all well and good for forests, but with their real long
"conservation" it is bad for the edges and clearings - they become overgrown, and extremely vulnerable entomofauna falls out. So let them hunt a little and cut down a little to maintain at least a little bit of biodiversity. Still, you can't prove to anyone that to save a particular butterfly, you need to save a clearing with a particular plant, and to save a beetle, you need to leave old trees. Just don't teach it to our professors ("honorary" including members of REO)
- they have
all insects pests.
