The congress was interesting , both for its minutes of communication and for its reports. I was sincerely glad to see all the participants and met many interesting friends. There were many reasons to smile - for example, a series of winter photos of one of the provinces of central Rosea, reports on the significance of the number of dots on the underparts of certain satyrs, an anatomical analysis of a number of islands in the Caspian Sea, where it is always stormy. Many thanks to the pleasant organizers of the congress from the Forestry Engineering University, to all our colleagues from Zinovtsy, to our wonderful colleagues from Molbiol, to both beetle and butterfly lovers, and of course to the city on the Neva for the beauty, good weather and the splendor of the cultural component of our trip. Special thanks to S. Yu. Sinev for the always warm welcome and the opportunity to work in the ZIN funds. S. Korbu (he knows for what). V. Lukhtanov (he also knows). V. Anikin (for EVERYTHING), S. Susarev for the opportunity to get acquainted with endemic Mordovian meat products, etc. etc.

02.09.2012 18:23, Dmitrii Musolin

Thank you for your kind words!

It is a pity that there were no signs on the badge-who is from the forum smile.gif

02.09.2012 18:25, Hierophis

prematurely you are so. I'm just getting started

I partially take my words back smile.gifSome interesting moments were, I will watch reports)
I liked how "academically" they left the increase in entrance fees, and as I understand it, now some revolutionaries and forum members are elected members of the council smile.gif
The annual fee is small. I wanted one lady almost under 500re to do - did not give)))

It's a shame that they didn't mention molbiol, but they did mention several sites that are essentially dead. It's creepy.

Well, Yakovlev and Korba were not chosen to the council for some reason )))

02.09.2012 18:28, Yakovlev

And why choose Yakovlev if he is not a member of the REO?

02.09.2012 18:37, Hierophis

Well, purely theoretically - for active entomological activity, real interest, and so on.
Although, vseranvo see nothing it does not change, only increases the rank level in the social hierarchy is that-still, even if a member, but the Council (elders)))))!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Musolin @ 01.09.2012 20:56)
I didn't understand what you meant... i.e. if you find it for a fee, it will be cheaper?
...........And Eversmania is also published in English (among other journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences, not REO, by the way), it is distributed abroad and its authors receive royalties?
-----------------------------------------------------------.
Eversmannia is widespread abroad. Just like in EO, Eversmannia does not receive any fees. Only those whose articles are then published in the United States receive royalties in the EO.
And the example of Eversmannia was given only to show what can be done cheaper.
====================================================
I can clarify that not only Eversmannia is cheaper, but ALSO ALL JOURNALS EXCEPT THOSE THAT HAVE FALLEN UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE SAME "SCIENTIFIC" FRATERNITIES THAT PRINT EO and some other publications of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Even the Works of REO are sometimes even cheaper than Eversmannia, because they do not have color inserts, and the circulation is larger.
Abroad-Eversmannia has limited distribution to a number of museums and private individuals for exchange. But we plan to expand it.
In English, we don't print them in principle (except for summaries and descriptions of new taxa). But normal specialists don't have to speak English - I communicate with foreigners who don't understand Russian, but if they need to, they can read both Russian and Chinese very well. Just like us-we read in any language if necessary, and in barbaric English, including
Fees - yes, we do not pay, like the overwhelming majority of our magazines, coma ZZH and ?E-mail address. And we will not pay - this is not the tabloid press, but science. WE DON'T ORDER MATERIAL FROM THE AUTHORS, BUT THEY ARE INTERESTED IN PUBLISHING IT.
Regarding the quality of articles, it also sounded - yes, in EO every now and then you come across not just small-scale stuff that is unworthy of this publication, but also OUTRIGHT NONSENSE. As in any VAKOV magazine , we have already discussed individual publications from the Zoozhurnal here (we didn't get to the others - there was no reason). If the magazine is Shaky, it means that it is ILLEGIBLE in terms of quality, but it is OPPORTUNISTIC, "thug", and to some extent even corrupt. Then there is no need to talk about any quality!

"I understood correctly that you want someone to work for the Society, print, and bring badges, and bring all this to you for thanks? That is, so that everything was and there was nothing for it?. Yeah. Interesting. And write me down there..."

- well, why distort it so much, in modern Russian realities, sorry, and "chiri will not jump out"just like that... Naturally, you need to pay.

"Come on, you write it like this: I will create a magazine, a website with a forum, send out badges to you, and attract sponsors. That would be constructive. Take something on yourself. Why do we all only know how to demand?"

"I'm not asking for anything personally... I'm sorry for the company.

"and by items:
they are published on paper-the works of REO (send, print), Kholodkovsky's Readings. Contributions are mainly spent on them and mailing lists. By the way, there are not enough contributions for this either (not to mention the EA, which also publishes reports).

The high cost of EO is due to the scanty circulation (200 copies). Find a print shop that will print it for 10 rubles. (Science is the cheapest in St. Petersburg)".

- knowing the history of the magazine's appearance in tsarist Russia, everything again comes to "circles of its own" - no matter how you turn it, you need a rich uncle who is fond of entomology again!? That's just where to find them in the Russian Federation...

"now they were selling 4 types of badges (this congress and rare ones)."
- well, here they were SELLING again... Is it possible to buy them only in the REO itself ???
That's why we need a website so that you can see the latest literature releases, the REO report for the year, order / buy badges, etc. Alas, these are the modern realities of our life - what am I saying here that is arch-shameful...???
