Come on... Karakurt is unlikely to spin a web under the top cover of the cabinet drawer.
Mamadorogaya, and suddenly really?... And the mountains of corpses of other spiders - smaller ones - around...
Tomorrow I'll try to go through the other cabinets, maybe I'll find someone bigger...

During the night, only one baby remained on my flower. Everyone ran away. Pechalka (now everyone will definitely be destroyed involuntarily, because they are barely noticeable and will probably be swept out with a rag, broom, crushed by cats ((((

Hello. Tell me, please, what kind of animal is this? A small bug, about 3 millimeters long. I see them on the walls in the apartment periodically for two weeks now. Do they cause any harm? Do I need to sort out my cereal stocks?
Place of action-Crimea.

Anthrenus museorum

Thank you. Is it possible to get rid of it somehow without using chemistry? Does freezer freezing kill beetles/eggs/larvae?

Thank you. Is it possible to get rid of it somehow without using chemistry? Does freezer freezing kill beetles/eggs/larvae?

Does not kill, they winter in natural conditions much further north. Moreover, what EXACTLY are you going to freeze out? Larvae develop in ent. collections, stuffed animals and carcasses, untreated wool, etc. If there are animals at home, they develop perfectly in the remnants of wool under cabinets and skirting boards.

Dried insects forage, for example. A fur collar in the freezer is also not difficult to throw. For prevention purposes, rather, I still think that the source of infection is not in the apartment. At home there are only hamsters, their fur is not behind the baseboards, under the cabinets. In their home, this very wool is also very small, cleaning is done on time.
I can't imagine where these beetles came from, there is practically no wool/skin/fur at home, there are also few dried insects forage, and they were bought recently, I looked through them, I didn't see any signs of infection.
Maybe, according to the classics, someone died in the ventilation system and they flew in from there?
How to protect your food from them?

How to protect your food from them?

Place in glass or plastic jars.
The appearance of beetles from ventilation is possible, birds nest in attics, technical floors, there are feathers, corpses of chicks... Apparently you have warmed up and beetles have crawled into your apartment

08.03.2019 22:33, Hamster

Thank you. That's what I'll do. Indeed, it has warmed up. Although the street is somewhere +8..+12 in the afternoon, but quite sunny. The attic must be warming up pretty well. There are definitely birds there.
Cereals / flour/herbs these beetles and their larvae can't eat?

08.03.2019 22:35, Dmitry Vlasov

No, beetles of this genus feed on flowers, larvae on keratin-containing materials

Got it, thanks for the information. They obviously won't be comfortable in my apartment.

Please help us determine what kind of animal it is!
Photographed at close range. The insect is up to 2 mm long. Very slow and slow, can't jump or fly.

Latridiidae from Corticariinae - for some reason Corticaria suggests itself (like there are similar synanthropes like this one: https://www.zin.ru/animalia/coleoptera/rus/corfulkm.htm), but this is not the group to determine from such photos. They are not dangerous, and they can be associated with mold fungi in their homes. Or with some "gifts of the forest" could get home.

Good night. Please tell me who it is? The man in the bathroom frown.gifwas crawling chaotically on the floor.Nothing like this has ever crept in before. New neighbors moved in from above, all some kind of hippie, with dreadlocks and not very clean.
Googled it, it looks like a bed bug. I've looked through the beds and mattresses, but I haven't found anything yet.

But we haven't gone anywhere since the summer of 2018. And we don't go to any hot spots. I suspect from the neighbors, though. But at least I'd like to know who it is first. confused.gif
Here I enlarged the photo as much as possible.

The bed bug itself. As they say: please love and favor.

Today I shook up all the furniture, all the sofas (actually there are only 2 of them). I turned everything out, just really everything that is possible, I shook my small apartment for 5 hours, vacuumed it, wherever possible. There are no traces of their vital activity in the sofas either. But it came from somewhere, didn't it? What can I do to prevent them from checking in with me?
No one in the family has bites. Can they really migrate away from their neighbors? After all, this has never happened before.
Please give me some advice!!!

To say I was upset is an understatement. What should I do to prevent them from checking in with me??? Help! Ses to call? It is not a fact that the neighbors will agree to let them in. There, I repeat, some hippies in dreadlocks. And if they can't process it, then it's useless for me?? Do you have any chemicals for pre-emptive treatment? I caught him on the bathroom floor, so he was climbing up pipes somewhere?

If the sockets are not through, then bedbugs can migrate along the hoods. Installing a fan with a check valve may help. Well, for the future, now very often on the Internet there are ads saying I will give you a sofa or chair. Here they can also have such "surprises"

22.03.2019 22:08, Aleksandr Ermakov

First of all, seal up the ventilation windows with mill gas (nylon for sieves). This is exactly how bedbugs used to walk around our multi-storey building. Second, stock up on insecticides.

Hello! Recently discovered in the office here is such a misfortune. While I noticed only in the office, at first I thought that these were small cockroaches, but then I saw one fly. The color is dark brown, there are wings, not that it flies, but rather plans. Very small, literally 3 mm. They crawl around the table, up to the ceiling and on the ceiling. The house is private. Spain. It's plus 20 degrees outside during the day and 5-6 degrees at night. The weather is dry now. The photo didn't get any better unfortunately :/
What should I do, Zin?
Thank you for your answers!

Don't be discouraged. The first rule of a biologist is not to interfere with the natural flow of life. So what was supposed to happen happened. In any case, animals only do what they see fit. So as they say: "If you love someone-let go!"

27.03.2019 22:15, Necrocephalus

The photo is very bad, as an option, purely in the shape of the body-pretend beetles or grains of some kind. But this is so, only with a tambourine. We need to make the photo better. Otherwise, no one will tell you.

If you can't get a better shot, try to determine for yourself:
Do they choke easily? so malashka, a harmless little animal.
Choking with a crunch? so not malashka and someone else.
Eats (eats) legumes-zernovka.
Sharpens wood (table, nightstand, and bed) - pretend.
What should I do, Zin?

Go quickly to the store,
Buy a bubble,
Pour yourself a glass,
Then another...

Some Ptinus.

29.03.2019 20:40, Katrinakat

I think I got a better photo. They are very small, and there are many of them.... they choke easily, I didn't hear a crunch, although the shell seems to be solid.
Photo in a live, crushed, hiding form. They fly short distances. What they eat is not clear, unfortunately, but there is no food in the office ))

Dmitry, thank you so much for your quick response!!! Please tell me if there is a way to deal with it that does not poison the apartment, and even we live here, and the little grandson comes. The apartment has a lot of books ( not antique, but from the 50s-70s), a pair of leather jackets, fur in hats, boots, jackets. Do I need to review everything? Could this leatherworm have come in from the street? ( I've already seen a fly outside, although it's still cold)

1) Review old leather and wool items, and stock up on food items (such as dried fish).
2) I could get in from the street. As well as from ventilation - these beetles often live in attics where pigeons nest (they feed on feathers, corpses of chicks, etc.)
3) The way to fight "without chemistry" is to find a place of their reproduction (if there is one in the apartment at all) and destroy it. I believe that the beetle really could have entered the apartment through the ventilation passage. Or get knocked up from the street.
