Hello friends!

Fishing in mckexton is normal, although there was a lot of rain at first. There are not so many beetles, I scored a few mattresses with scaraboids, there are some nice beetles, but not so much. Although time and effort are not always enough for them )

I haven't been here for a long time , so in 2 weeks.
So 18-19. 06 was at the dacha (Leningrad region, Vsevolozhsky district, pos vaskelovo. Caught on light DRL250. The night is moonless, clear, +14(one of the shortest of the season, almost no dark).
Most interesting is the arrival of Macrothylacia rubi (Linnaeus, 1758)by the light of a lamp and the outgoing rays of the sun at 23.10.
Hours at 2-2. 15, after drinking tea (the main attribute of the entomologist - "kvass" - was not present), I went out to check the screen and saw Sphinx ligustri (Linnaeus, 1758). This is my first find here in 3 years of fishing. While trying to shoot for the story, hawk moth skyrocketed and was like this... It was a shame to remember. The next night it was clear and +10. The year was worse than before, but now the purple one appeared again... Circled and for some reason not sitting on the screen again dumped. Maybe you didn't like my face? the riddle...
A couple of pieces of Smerinthus ocellatus(Linnaeus, 1758) arrived.Dippers Spilosoma lubricipedum (Linnaeus, 1758) and Spilarctia luteum(Hufnagel, 1766) flew in abundance. Diacrisia sannio (Linnaeus, 1758) was another female bear.
There were only three types of tufts in a very small number, these are:Phalera bucephala
(Linnaeus, 1758), Clostera pigra (Hufnagel, 1766) и Ptilodon capucina(Linnaeus, 1758)
There are no more than five types of dustpan...
During the day, I was engaged in farming and 10 meters from the screen on a pole , that damp, apparently lilac, slept! Well, I certainly could not resist, filmed and caught.

In the evening of 18.06 I went to look at the meadow, where a week ago I saw Hemaris tityus
(Linnaeus, 1758), to check if there are any more of them. Alas, a couple of pieces flew, I caught one, but it's already quite shabby. I removed the biotope for history, and found fresh Deilephila elpenor (Linnaeus, 1758) in the grass.
Coenonympha glycerion (Borkhausen, 1788), Coenonympha hero (Linnaeus,1761), Lasiommata maera (Linnaeus, 1758), and small mother-of-pearl flowers appeared from diurnal plants.
I didn't shoot much, but here are the ones I did:
Sphinx ligustri
Deilephila elpenor
Plant over which circled Hemaris tityus
And a modest catch.

From June 11 to 13, I went with Anthrenus to the biological station of our native University.
Then we went to a dry meadow for a targeted collection of Agapanthia intermedia. Sukhodol suffered from last year's heat – vegetation 10-15 cm high. Mowing is almost impossible. So I had to look for a scabbard and look for agapanthia on its bushes…

Congratulations on your successful catch and return. By the way, where did we write about the lack of interludes? confused.gif They're perfectly fine.

Hi! I also congratulate you on finding Menesia bipunctata and Rhamnusium bicolor! And the conclusion that the population of intermedia on the Hive has suffered, I made here from this post wink.gif. I'm glad I jumped to the conclusion!

Despite the bonsai scabbard, there were even more interludes than usual. Or maybe it's just visible better... wink.gif

I continue...
25-26. 06 was also in the country . Night, cloudy, dark +17(another one of the shortest of the season.).The power was cut off!
By the light of a diode fanaric, I caught two slightly battered hawkmoth Deilephila porcellus (Linnaeus, 1758) and a female Deilephila elpenor (Linnaeus, 1758). I wanted to go to bed, but they gave me energy and stayed to catch it. It's strange, but the year was weak for such weather, there is nothing to highlight. There were all those who did last weekend. plus scoops Diachrysia chrysitis (Linnaeus, 1758) - last season appeared on July 5-10.
The next night of the weekend was cold, and not much was flying at all. Perhaps we can note the appearance of the thinworm Hepialus humuli (Linnaeus, 1758).
In the afternoon of 25.06 I decided to take a walk along the railway to Lembolovo station on a small upper swamp, look for Colias palaeno (Linnaeus, 1761).
The weather was warm, but not very sunny.
As soon as I started to descend to Balot, I met almost immediately 2 Diacrisia sannio (Linnaeus, 1758).Later I came to the conclusion that this butterfly is often found here, although it does not seem to be a swamp species.
I didn't find Colias palaeno(maybe it's too early yet?), but I did find mother-of-pearl Boloria aquilonaris and Proclossiana eunomia.
Boloria aquilonaris were plentiful in the grass in the clearing of small fir trees.
Then it started to rain and I quickly went home.
On the way caught Callistege mi (Clerck, 1759)

More swallowtails flew.Nymphalids-perelivnitsy, tapeworms, etc. fly in the crowns, eat on linden trees? they mate on oak trees, but in the morning they drink greedily on puddles if it's dry all around.I went to the light-flying silkworms, hawk moth, flew 3 kinds of plavuntsov and 4 kinds of not kr. buzzed. There was such a pandemonium on the screen that my head began to spin,by 2 am the mood and adrenaline were completely gone, I went alone-I couldn't talk, I didn't take kvass-I didn't take kvass, well, that's it.Question - how do experienced members of the forum deal with overpopulation on the screen,if because of the middle-class and large-class crowd, you can't see new arrivals, but you need to catch them on time?

Caught the night of June 1, beginning at 23: 20, heat-23c, changed the biotope-caught in a clearing-swamp on a gas pipeline among deciduous forests.Waist-high grass, small willows and birches all around, raised the lamps to 3.5 m,. At 00: 30 the first female of the grass cocoonworm, a cacophony on the screen-all the local grasshoppers, beetles, bedbugs, crunchers came, at 01-30 the holly-leaved male pleased. The mosquitoes drank half the blood out of me,the mosquitol didn't help, that's all.

Question :has Apollo ever been recorded in the Kaluga region?Lunar copra ?Prettier?Zsuzsa nitens, please excuse me immediately for some incorrect phraseology. It hurts too much to catch siih animals.Soon vacation and new cars. You can write to your personal account.
Apollo is there. When Apollo (now extinct) was reintroduced at the PTZ, the material was taken from the Kaluga and Vladimir regions. There was already a conversation about the Kaluga Apollo and its station on the forum. For beetles, look first of all at the KK of the Kaluga region in the Shipunov Library. In general, it is better to ask such questions in the future in specialized topics, and not in fishing reports.

I went on the 29th to the area of the Red Lighthouse, or rather-to d. Ivonino, Vladimir region.
He was invited as a navigator.
Apollo was just beginning to fly - a relatively small number of males (1-2 in the field of view) and one female encountered. The main goal was to photograph Parnassus. I note that on the same day in 2007, there were already a lot of flown copies.
In addition to apollo, there are many Melitaea phoebe, M. aurelia, less-M. didyma, Mellicta athalia, Clossiana titania, In the mass-Idaea aureolaria and D. sannio.
From pigeons - single flown P. idas and P. argus

Yesterday I gathered my strength and went for a survey of a mixed forest in the Tutaevsky district. This area is relatively close to Yaroslavl (just over 10 km), but each trip requires some mental effort. You can only get there ( and therefore return) by steam train, but our valiant "Severyanka" has made a schedule so that you go in the morning, and return only at 18 o'clock. True, you can walk to the highway or walk along the "sleepers", but not in 30-degree heat.
I have repeatedly traveled to this forest (alone or with Anthrenus, om), but at the beginning of July was not. Therefore, it was planned to examine aspen dumps (for goldenrods, barbels, Eucnemidae) and look for Macroleptura thoracica. In the fall of last year, I found birch "dunces" clearly worked out by her.
Despite the rain that had fallen last night, the day promised to be hot (this was indicated not only by the weather forecast, but also by the activity of Agrilus viridis, which I saw on a willow tree near the station, and even caught one). In the forest, it turned out that the intensity of the night's rain was underestimated by me, and after a couple of minutes I was wet from head to toe. But when I went out to the "lesopoval", I almost immediately dried up and began a grueling struggle with beetles that were active due to the heat.
The result of an eight-hour fishing trip:
Zlatki: Agrilus ater (a small series after an hour and a half balancing on a blockage and waving a net at the trunk of a live aspen, on a fallen tree –no), A. angustulus (two specimens. on oak leaves), A roberti (? two beetles on dead aspen, slightly different in size and color from the specimens I mowed down from aspen leaves), Anthaxia quadripunctata (small on oak leaves, at first I thought it was something new...), Poecilonota variolosa (1 "piece", sat on an aspen trunk at a height of more than 4 m, pushed a branch, flew off down, where I caught it).
Barbels: Alosterna tabacicolor, Pseudovadonia livida, Stenurella melanura, Leptura quadrifasciata, Macroleptura thoracica (1, on foliage in a wet morning forest, on "dunces not found"), Xylotrechus rusticus (still running on aspen deadwood), Saperda perforata (2 specimens on aspen trunks), Aegomorphus clavipes (?, several copies. on the dead wood and aspen trunks, there are very dark ones, you need to look), Leiopus punctulatus (one on the dead trunk).
Eucnemidae: Otho sphondyloides (one on an old aspen mutt), another small one caught on oak leaves, it is necessary to identify ...
"Plates": Protaetia metallica and the ubiquitous Trichius fasciatus and Oxythyrea funesta.
Bark beetles (not specifically searched for): Scolytus ratzeburgi, S, mali, S. rugulosus, Trypodendron leave.
Throughout the day, I mowed buckthorn in search of menesia – to no avail. I also mowed a little on the willow, oak and aspen thickets: three species of small skrytnoglavov, some labidostomis (m. b. and two species: from willow and oak), background leaf beetles. On dry land on cornflowers and bodyak raznolistnom scored larinovs (2-3 species).
Blueberries have started to ripen, hawthorns are growing along the puddles, iridescent lilies are flying, fresh xanthomelas have appeared, and mother-of-pearl adippa and selena are also flying in the mass. From other animals: moose tracks, a hedgehog that was indignant for a long time that I accidentally "kicked" it in a thicket of grass. Cuckoos screamed, crows screamed, and some birds of prey soared (I tried to photograph them for identification). I'll post the photo later, I don't have time to throw it off and process it.

Kasimovsky district, Ryazan region Something-a lot, something is not present or almost not compared to previous years, but gradually evens out, thanks to the heat. Actually, all that the eye has somehow stopped on is in the photo. Interestingly, this year there is no C. fulminea yet, but C. promissa is already in full swing. Of the presented specimens, only one flew at night to the light, the rest were caught during the day on the oaks (there are a lot smile.gifof them there) C. sponsa will fly, I hope, in a week and a half. More with vicgrr caught M. russiae, of which this year a decent number. Well, I accidentally caught the eye of Satyrium spini.

On July 03, we went to Bugulma in the south-east of Tatarstan in the hope of finding Agrodiaetus damone and Hipparchia autonoe, and at the same time something else. It quickly turned out that they were very excited about the latter - this year it seems that it will appear only in two weeks, although on 20.07.2008 I caught only a very well-flown female and saw the same one. The summer season of almost all species is very late: only a few Aphantopus hyperantus, Maniola jurtina, Melanargia galathea, Mesoacidalia aglaja have just appeared; the freshest males of Brenthisinoand Mellicta aurelia / britomartis are common (which one of them should be cooked), there are still a lot of flown males of Melitaea cinxia and there are very fresh females, there were flown males of Colias hyale; quite a few fresh males, probably of the first generation Muschampia tessellum and Carcharodus flocciferus, as well as the wonderful Odezia atrata; a single new male Pyrgus alveus and the same Melitaea diamina were caught. In the forest clearings, males and females of Coenonympha arcania and Syntonus phegea are quite fresh in the mass; Nymphalis xanthomelas is common, as elsewhere. Maculinea arion has not yet appeared, although several males of M. alcon and even a flying later M. have been caught. telejus (in a single copy). After the survey of the forest, we went to the steppe, where we used to catch Agrodiaetus damon and ripartii. Only second-generation Euchloe ausonia and Melanargia russiae were common here. There were practically no pigeons, with the exception of still fresh Plebicula amandus (both sexes), a few Lycaeides argyrognomon, Eumedonia eumedon, worn P. icarus. Exhausted by the constant ascent of the hills, having skinned all my legs to the blood of the cruel steppe grass, I was already desperate to catch something interesting, when suddenly a strange pigeon began to scurry under my feet. A short chase, a swing and - in the net Polyommatus boisduvalii jump.gif! There is no limit to joy - for RT, this species was last cited (according to Morgun/Lvovsky) at the end of the 19th century. The next hour was spent combing the slopes with triple energy, but there was no sign of the butterfly-apparently, they were at the very beginning of the departure. However, there was also a male Plebicula thersites (apparently-he) - also a very rare pigeon in our country, I have never met it before. Already closer to 16 o'clock, returning to the car, 3-4 km from the fishing spot, I grabbed a flock of pigeons in a net and among the caviar and amanda - the second (and also the only one in the area) male boisduvalii! So, the trip was more than a success. I didn't take my camera with me, but I attach a photo of the catch.

Well, I'll add my 5 kopecks to the fishing reports. Being at the biological station of my native university, I decided to conduct another night fishing trip to the light. I don't know why, I don't care much about butterflies, and I haven't seen any interesting beetles for a long time. Probably out of boredom - for the second week I hadn't caught anything worthwhile because of the heat-all the early - summer animals had moved away, and the mid - and late-summer ones were probably hiding somewhere. The forest floor was dry to gunpowder and crunched underfoot. And so, to relax, I decided to burn the lamp wink.gif. Years went neither shaky nor swell-a standard set of standard butterflies in this place, a minimum of beetles-Ilibius, Rhantus, Aropalus, small water lovers, red crunchers, etc. In general, melancholy. By one o'clock in the morning, the number of years increased slightly and the butterflies began to attack more actively. I was not interested in them and a first-year student fought with them there. When the beetles arrived, he carried them to me for identification. Aropal, still aropal, crunch.... And suddenly: - Look, what is this beetle? And he holds out a rather large, broad barbel, which, as it turned out later, he almost stepped on at the border of the illuminated zone. My first impulse was to scream. However, he restrained himself. Like, we haven't seen any tragos yet... The most interesting thing is that in this area they have been catching light since the 70s - no one has ever found this species....
I attach a photo of the trophy, thank you for the quality-in the fields after all...

smile.gifThe female should also be lucky! According to my observations, it is several times less common in arrivals to the light. Thus, a total of 17 copies were collected in the Nizhny Novgorod region. (for 4 seasons) females turned out to be only 5.

Today, my wife and child went to the Medynsky district of the Kaluga region to catch fresh nymphalids and what will come across on the new car.1 hour caught-just darkness and everything is fresh, to list in Latin for a long time .We decided to change the biotope and moved to a new location. All around are forest ravines, field gullies, all kinds of forests, old-new clearings, a high-voltage 500 kV 0.5 km wide, meadows and fields of hogweed, linden and oak groves-the beauty is terrible. As we moved everything darkened, the sun yoke, all the winged left the roads and flowers-flew into the crowns, go-do not catch, look at the bees and bumblebees.BUT there were 3-4 piles of not fresh different logs on the edge of the forest.Different types of monohamuses sat in different piles like in a fairy tale, they took everyone in excitement. Please forgive me,they didn't take cripples without legs and sawyers.Special feature-the largest ones were damaged after fights for females.Report-photos of the collection.

Night from 8 to 9, Medynsky district, Kaluga region. The beginning of fishing 11-30 T-19S, after a rain of spontaneous scale, stood at the exit of a dirt road, where there is no wet and tall grass, in the middle of a long, endless field, with 3 sides of different forest, in the middle of a grove of 100-year-old lime trees, flew immediately in waves:herbaceous, oak-leaved cocoonworms a lot-killed, hawkmoth-pine, oak, m and w. wine, eyes-killed,tanner arrived, bears from 12-30 to 01-30, then I didn't take a lot of scoops, everything around 5-6 meters was filled with buzzing, running, take-offs and landings in short,it was pleasant and interesting, the wife of tarila on the screen (according to technology) and wore it to me,I laid out and directed, poured chemistry, and so on.At 3-00 as the general, slowly rearranging his legs, zhuzhlo came to the litter-they were happy.I didn't identify 2 whites. At 03: 00, a dense fog stopped all the buzz, although t-17S, not cold.Feature:when we went home, I was not driving fast,we carefully examined the bright forest-field, uninhabited road for beetles and the like, 12 km, the result was 0.00.Probably everything.

I went to the forest-Kaluga region, Medynsky district, on the forest road.A terrible thing is happening in the puddles-there are just a lot of butterflies of all families, which is why birds are not friends of entomologists, where cars occasionally pass quite badly-it reminds us of Kulikovo field after the battle-everything is covered in butterfly bodies.Admirals did not see, but I caught 4 pieces of the freshest mourner, gray paphias, female swallowtail from 10 cm, 2 lilac-colored zlatki, musky barbel and bronzer-not aurat?., the fat man was walking on the road, saperda was flying-caught by accident.Feature-as soon as you get out of the car, someone flies by-who needs to be caught, and the net is not collected, today it was repeated 5-6 times, you take the sak, but it has already flown away.A short photo report.

I apologize for the late report, the message didn't load in any way...
on July 9, right after work, I waved to visit the biological station of our University (Uglich district), where at that time Anthrenus was "sowing reasonable, kind, eternal" to students. The plans were to fish for light, look for beetles on aquatic vegetation (while the water is warm) and catch dry forests with clearings, which was successfully completed in two days. However, the fees were very meager. Serica brunnea, fresh and soft several species of Ilybius sp., "came" soft Dytiscus circumcinctus, also flew small aquatic Helophoridae, Dytiscidae, Hydrophilidae (although they "shone" far from water bodies, apparently revived after heavy rains). There were practically no Ahropalus s (only one in two evenings)!? One of the Eucnemidae (previously Racopus sahlbergi (?)) came from an interesting place. The screen was "hammered" by different-sized moths, small scoops, micra, holes arrived, kaya bears, hawkmoth: pine and poplar, cocoonworms: grass, oak-leaved, pine ... They did not take butterflies.
The dry land catch did not bring anything interesting. Piles of apions from sorrel and St. John's wort, there were single agapantia: intermedia and villosoviridescens, the last grated-grated. Pollen-eaters are still being mowed down, and there are relatively many shield-noses, mainly on yarrow. In the clearing, the fees were more plentiful, but mostly they took small things: hidden heads (5 species I have), jumping weevils ("Rhynchaenus" in green) - 4 species, trubkoverts, doritomus, etc ... Somehow it didn't work out with barbels, even "flower" ones are found in single specimens, we saw: Anastrangalia reyi, A. sanguinolenta, Stenurella melanura, Leptura quadrifasciata, L. annularis, Lepturalia nigripes, Lepturobosca virens, Pachyta quadrimaculata, Stictoleptura rubra (male), S. maculicornis.
On aquatic plants, too, there were practically no beetles: neither rainbows, nor waterlily boogers, and Lixus paraplecticus was pleased with the water umbrella plants. I found Cychrus caraboides, Badister unipustulatus, and Patrobus septentrionis by hand collecting along the shore. Trying to turn over a log on the bank, I broke off a large piece of it and found a barbel pupa in the wood. The log was clearly partially flooded with water! Now I'm waiting for the removal of the" water " barbel.
From non-insects: Limax cyaneoniger, which now lives in Anthrenus, was caught at the biostation, and received the "name" Onotole. In addition, Anthrenus found several fruit bodies of tinder (ram mushroom) while wandering in an overgrown clearing, one of which was solemnly presented to botanists...

16.07.11 again went to our "holy" places - near Bugulma. We started with the forest - nothing unusual. Then we went to the steppe, where I had previously caught Hipparchia autonoe, but we didn't meet it - apparently, it's still early this year. Males of Agrodiaetus damon and riparti have just flown out, the latter are still isolated. Finally, the search led us to a wonderful rocky slope, where for the first time in my life I saw and caught jump.gifColias chrysotheme, Satyrus ferula and Agrodiaetus damone. Alas, of the latter, I found only two badly battered males and a fresh female. The chrysotemums were rushing rapidly only along the slope, reaching its top/bottom they turned and flew along, so that the pursuit of them was almost useless. I had to calculate the trajectory of the spotted butterfly and intercept it in two or three jumps. When I was photographing one groundhog, I suddenly heard a sharp squeak very close and saw the burrow of the second one three meters away. This groundhog did not run away, but, looking into my eyes from its hole, angrily screamed something threatening. I enclose a list of what I have seen, as well as photos of the wonderful slope and interesting things from the catch.

Trip from June 15-16 to 17.Kaluga region, Yukhnovsky district, Belyaevo village.Night from 15 to 16, warm start of fishing 22-30, t-24c, floodplain of the Ugra river-water meadows. One side of the floodplain is not a young pine forest, the other is a mixed forest with oaks and alders at the bottom of the slope. But at 23-20, the fog of a brutal nature came, then the full moon came out.The first time there was no summer,I didn't take anything. In the afternoon, I took a batch of large musky barbels to the beaches.Hornets and dung beetles flew to the wine, beer, and honey markets. There weren't too many butterflies, though the flowers weren't faded like they were along the roads.IMHO-apparently powerful fogs, everything wet has a negative impact on the results of fishing in the lowlands.

Yaroslavl, the night of July 16-17. on the lamp, butterflies practically did not go, the full moon. 3 promises landed on the sour wine traps. This is not a common type for our region. Before that, I caught it in 2003, but when I showed the promise to a local master - Klepikov, he somehow grimaced in disbelief, and did not believe that the promise was local

Last week I went fishing twice - both unsuccessfully. The first trip was to the Ryazan region on Lake Pleten, near Tuma. Only small things were caught from fish, there were few mushrooms and berries. There were no particularly interesting butterflies born at night, except that Pelosia obtusa was en masse going to the screen.
P1020363.JPG
This is how it looks unaligned, and in the report of Gennadich, most likely not the obtuza, but a variation of Thumatha senex.
P1020366.JPG
After the failure in the Ryazan region, he rushed to the Yaroslavl region to the Msharovsky marshes behind P-Zalesky. Fishing turned out to be identical to Ryazan, but with butterflies it was more interesting. Catocals of pakta flew, and simirs of albovenose, Chilodes maritimus, and Capsula sparganii flew en masse. In the afternoon, I was generally shocked by being caught in the center of the swamp massif, flying together with lemongrass, Suvorovka. And they say that Russiae is a steppe species.
I add something dried up from Msharovo.
P1020371.JPG
Yes, on the way from the Ryazan region to the Yaroslavl region, I passed through Vladimirskaya, made a stop at the village of Krutets to see chanterelles (there were few of them). For half an hour I saw about 10 mourning women, it is clear that the view is being restored.

Could it be Eurithea Quercus?

At least I caught them on fallen oaks, so I think this is it.

July 23-24.Medynsky district, Kaluga region.Combined report.22, on Friday afternoon put 3 pieces of wine traps-honey, beer, cu. wine, water, yeast. We went for the night with my wife and child. The arrival was packed with everything you don't need-hornets,nymphalids,scoops in the daytime, flies, wasps.Nearby, a flock of suspiciously slow-moving, screaming birds sat in the bushes, snatching insect fluids from their traps and not being sober.C22na23 stood in a clearing, near piles of logs, lamps raised by 4 meters, to improve visibility.Years excellent, the screen was not visible.4 species of barbels arrived-3samki urusova, b. skripun, tanner, and what else did not determine, 2 species of kr. grave diggers 2.5 cm, a lot of grasshoppers. The photo shows the contents of the traps-lost animals.I decided to replace it for the night with rags with bait. The tapes were flying properly. In the afternoon, I examined the oaks for hermits,no.Mourners, admirals, thistles fly.Second night-birch forest, inner field and oak trees pokrayu. We were pleased with the freshest females of the grass cocoonworm, males in a huge number, interfered with monitoring their restless behavior-they got out of the screen.Fresh bedstraw and euphorbia plants-I took them.I didn't identify the yellow scoop.I went out on the roads at night with my child, found a ground beetle,I hadn't seen it before.Probably everything.
