Especially impressive is the summer of dandelion from KK-October. Probably it was once, but now because of global warming has changed a lot. And with salad what-that bad luck. I have never flown to any of the three places where I fish (O.-Zuevsky, S.-Pasadsky districts and Moscow). Maybe it doesn't fly well in the light?

08.10.2007 13:26, AntSkr

Here on page 18 in the topic it was written (post #859, Morozzz) that "dumi flies through well-warmed meadows, often wet from the second half of September. It flies during the day, quite fast."
I didn't catch any of them myself frown.gif

By the way, at what minimum temperature does something fly into the light? There was no frost yet, and some species fly after frost... Is it worth catching in a week and what exactly?

It's strange, I've never met a dandelion in my southern Ozuyevsky district, but this summer I found a lettuce caterpillar-it pupated and then died. frown.gif

08.10.2007 16:03, Sergey Didenko

Specifically, the village of Neftyanik, on the road from O-Z to Shatura after Snopk and Maisky, before reaching Novonikolaevka. But it didn't smell like salad.

08.10.2007 16:07, Sergey Didenko

As for fishing after frost, taking into account your abundance, and on a warm night, all wintering birds can fly, but I didn't come across any very late autumn ones.

08.10.2007 16:22, Zhuk

That's it, Sednya, I'm turning on the lamp again! smile.gif . By the way, Sednya left the house at 7: 00, and on the entrance window, at the light bulb(ordinary), there were 15 pieces of Erannis defoliaria and 10 pieces of Operophtera brumata smile.gif. Lessa still sit, but already half is gone. It's a pity the camera wasn't there...

08.10.2007 16:51, Ilia Ustiantcev

And we have been flying Erannis defoliaria since September. Today I took a picture of a moth, I will post it on Saturday, but it is very similar to Operophtera brumata. I don't catch the light anymore, but I get up early, before the lights are turned off, and the glow of a good lantern from the bank fence on the white wall attracts butterflies well. Sorry, I only noticed it recently...

The backside of the yellow-tail is red, and the golden-tail is dark brown (in the male, the whole abdomen is so).

Are there any other signs? In most photos on the Internet, there is a clearly visible rounded dark spot on the front fenders of the similis. Chrysorrhoea either does not have such a spot or has thin strokes. Can this serve as a sign to determine?

On the underside of the forewings, dark areas are clearly visible, especially a dark stripe along the front edge. Can this serve as a sign to determine?

Below the forewing, both species have a dark field along the leading edge.

Above on the forewing, the dark spots of the yellow-tailed males are more pronounced.
But they are so well distinguished by the pubescence of the ass that this is some completely unnecessary sign...

another question
at the end of the abdomen of females there is a strong thickening, as if a ball.
What's it?
Do both species have it?

Yes, both of them. This is a bunch of poisonous hairs, which it later covers the egg laying.

08.11.2007 23:33, Guest

and I thought that she had eggs there: - Oh, and when the eggs are laid, the abdomen "blows away"

I once noticed a rather large moth in the entrance of my house in January, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to catch it. I never saw her again...

22.02.2008 19:08, Ilia Ustiantcev

Could it be that Semioscopis was crazy? In the Moscow winter, anything is possible.

23.02.2008 12:58, Ilia Ustiantcev

In Moscow, now the wind, hail, thunderstorms, 5 degrees above 0 jump.gif jump.gif jump.gifand the next 10 days are not expected below +2, and next Monday all 8. If the forecasts are justified, and after a trace. Why won't the temperature drop below 5 when the butterflies fly?

23.02.2008 22:00, RippeR

b someone else said that this is our early spring smile.gif

On April 1, it will definitely snow again. Like every year. In general, by the end of March, some butterflies are already flying.

Yes, from the middle of March, the black thread will already fly. I've been catching Archiearis parthenias since I was 25.

turned out suddenly
And not rain or hail,
but so on...

Email us! The penultimate day of winter and +20! Afiget smile.gifI will hang a lamp on the weekend....

14.03.2008 13:56, Sergey Didenko

Yesterday after work I went fishing for a lamp. Nothing outstanding, although a few microlepidopters flew, unfortunately, BY. Well, in the photo collected from the ice in a pile, most likely, Conistra vaccinii Linn. Can anyone provide information on the differences between species of the genus Conistra?

So, I also opened the season smile.gif
Just got back from the village. The weather was warm and sunny, but there was still snow everywhere, unlike in Moscow.
Just arrived on Saturday (15.03) and immediately turned on the light. It's +5 outside, windless and moonless. Somewhere up to 22 nifiga did not fly, and then out of nowhere Lithophane consocia appeared and plopped down on the screen. Then somewhere before 23 nifiga there was nothing and I was about to leave when Conistra vaccinii appeared. This was the last capture, because then the temperature dropped sharply and the moon came out frown.gif
I spent the whole day(16.03) in the forest. I picked at the trash and turned over everything that was lying badly. But in the end, I didn't find anything useful frown.gif. There are only nutcrackers everywhere Ampedus sp. Caterpillars of Phragmatobia fuliginosa and Euthrix potatoria crawl in the snow. And in the late afternoon the snow came down in huge flakes and I went home smile.gif

Brachionycha nubeculosa
Apocheima hispidaria
Eupsilia transversa
Conistra vaccinii
Alsophila aescularia

The image is not attached for some reason... as it turns out , I'll put it up.

I went to Razdory to get the spring girls, but they were so fast that I couldn't even take a picture, so all I had to do was gnash my teeth and take pictures of the flying lemongrass girls:

In general, it was a good year: from 12 to 14 I saw 10 pieces, and a few on the way back to the station. There were no more butterflies, but here's another seven-dot ladybug:

I myself catch on DRL, but Alsophila aescularia has never flown to any of my three fishing spots in the MO. Perhaps this is the only early-spring butterfly flying in the MO, which I did not catch.

Again yesterday I caught the light, here, in fact, is a photo of what I caught:

During the day, a lot of lemongrass, urticaria, and angloptera flew.
I saw one N. vau-album, but unfortunately I didn't catch it...
