Why don't my bindweeds fly to the light? frown.gif

Why don't my lilac ones fly? smile.gif

27.08.2007 12:06, mikee

There aren't even any languages this year.

And this year I didn't have any small wine shops at all, although last year they were flying in clouds...

27.08.2007 12:17, AntSkr

I've seen the yazykans this year. Once in early June, the second-in early August. And so they are much less compared to last year. Convolvulus do not fly much to the light, but they still fly. On Friday last week, I caught one on flowers, and the second flew to the light at half past midnight.
By the way, is it realistic to see the second generation of Smerinthus ocellatus this year? And if so, when?
The second generation of Hyles galii was already flying away. Once in mid-August, Deilephila elpenor flew to the world.

The fact is that they fly in droves over the flowers, but there is not a single one in the light.

27.08.2007 13:22, Ilia Ustiantcev

And who-thread hunted in the vicinity of podosinok? And then I have no one but the most banal elpenor and bedstraw, 2 years ago I caught an eye or a caecus, and 4 found atropos badly beaten by rain...

How often do Lemonia dumi and Lemonia taraxaci fly to Moscow?

dumi flies through well-warmed meadows, often wet from the second half of September. It flies during the day, quite fast.
is there a taraxaci in the Moscow region?

27.08.2007 14:39, Ilia Ustiantcev

taraxaci is like in 4 districts. And I grew dumi, but the pupa died. By the way, it gave off the smell of overcooked fish, no one knows what that means?

27.08.2007 15:06, Zhuk

So, now toka returned from the village (Ruzsky district). Mda, warming has done its job. Although yesterday it got a little colder. But I heard that in September it will be up to 30.
During the day

Cynthia cardui,
Vanessa atalanta,
Apatura ilia,
Colias hyale,
Everes argiades,
Polyommatus icarus,
Lycaena phlaeas flew.

Now I found a hawk moth caterpillar on the street in Moscow. Crawling along the road, apparently pupating. Crawled into my box wink.gifI think either Mimas tiliae or Laothoe populi.

A photo for identification!

The last days in MO are cold, only some scoops fly to the light, but A. convolvuli still flies often, flies to the light, but settles in the shade. But quite often you can see them in the daytime on poles, etc. Interestingly, at the beginning of their summer, only females flew, now - more often males.
Today I saw one Macroglossum stellatarum.

Yesterday I tried to catch something in the MO on the light. A few banal August scoops and one Catocala flew high, flew and flew away. Q: Is it because of the weather that there are so few of them or is it out of season? And when will the pure autumn ones fly (Poecilocampa populi, Colotois pennaria, L. dumi, etc.)?

I think this is due to the weather, although there are not so many species in late summer and early autumn. Purely autumn from the 17th day will go (according to my personal observations smile.gif)

13.09.2007 17:12, lepidopterolog

Today, at the MSU biofactory department, I saw two fresh Ennomos sp. on the window (on the back side of the glass), an attempt to catch them ended in failure - the windows were boarded frown.gifup Shorter, the autumn views have already gone-everyone is huntingsmile.gif

In this topic, probably, it will be most correct.

Brothers / sisters in the net! And who caught a thread in the MO moth Idaea seriata? Otherwise, only two points are indicated for it: Priluki on the Oka River and Saltykovskaya Square to the east of Moscow.

And that is, I have a suspicion that it is simply viewed due to increased plyugavosti...

Sednya with Sparrow and fly-km were in a forest park near the Timeryazev Academy. The weather was awesome. We wandered around the park for a long time, but nothing interesting came across. There are different bonal beetles. After an hour of walking, I finally saw the first butterfly, Larerannis orthogrammaria, perched on a tree trunk. In the future, they began to come across very often and we no longer paid attention to them. Some, just emerging from the chrysalis, were spreading their wings. I also got one Epirrita autumnata, but after Sparrow took a picture of it, it flew away. On the way back, Sparrow noticed Amphipyra pyramidea sitting on the dry trunk of a tree. I didn't find anything else interesting.
P.S. It will add Sparrow.

I went to Ashukino and found out for myself who flies there.(why, sobsno, about it and asked) Some whiteflies were flying from the daytime ones, (I decided that they were turnips):

thistles, admirals, and lemongrass. I was surprised by the fresh Latona:

I also forgot to mention that I saw a grasshopper there: brown with a dark one, healthy, with a white stroke on the side. Who could it be?

23.09.2007 21:16, Sparrow

P. oblongopunctatus and Limodromus assimilis (Agonum assimilus)are not included in the list of beetles.

But I'll illustrate the butterflies...

But did anyone catch a golden tail (Euroctis chrysorrhoea, Lymantriidae) in MO and where?
Or is it finally in the field of ec?

And then I look - the nearest modern find-Galich Mountain...

29.09.2007 7:20, AntSkr

What are the clear differences between Euroctis chrysorrhoea and Euroctis similis?

What are the clear differences between Euroctis chrysorrhoea and Euroctis similis?

The backside of the yellow-tail is red, and the golden-tail is dark brown (in the male, the whole abdomen is so).

Caught yesterday on the light in MO. A lot of things arrived, moths, scoops (one Diloba caeruleocephala, Macdunnoughia confusa flew in the mass).

But most importantly - Ptilophora plumigera - as many as 3 copies!!!

Oh, and where - if it's not a secret? You can go to your personal account smile.gif
Plumigera - for MO thing exotic enough... It is known from Oki-Zhizdra in the Tula and Kaluga regions - but I have never met any specific instructions for the Ministry of Defense!

And me, me, if possible mol.gif

01.10.2007 14:14, AntSkr

Well, I'll tell everyone where I caught Ptilophora plumigera-Stupinsky district, Marinka-1 of the Moscow region.
As soon as I spread it out, I'll post the photos in the appropriate topic (each of the 3 caught ones has a slightly different shade...)
And if it is so rare, then why not in the red book?

By the way, who knows if Poecilocampa populi has already flown? Or is it too early? I didn't see any of them when I caught them on Saturday...

From the daytime yesterday I saw a worn Thecla betulae... isn't it a little late? Also, various wintering nymphalids flew, from whiteflies - Pieris sp. and a lot of C. hyale.

01.10.2007 15:31, omar

Why not in the red list - because it was not found in the area no.gif

Why not in the red list - because it was not found in the region no.gif

It's on Sirotkin's list, after all ... (one copy at a time, though...)

01.10.2007 15:46, omar

One copy each. they are usually not listed in the red Book. Unless, of course, it is a terribly bright and super-noticeable butterfly. For nothing is known. What should I write in numbers, conservation measures, and habitats?

01.10.2007 15:47, AntSkr

http://www.geogr.msu.ru/rb/docs/prilogenie.pdf - it is included in the appendix to the red book!

I was at the dacha yesterday, and from my diaries, in addition to pieris, I saw a tattered latona, fresh burdock, rapeseed whitewash, and two yellows: one light yellow, the other lemon yellow. They didn't sit down, but they certainly weren't lemongrasses; I've seen them in various places. The females of the meadow jaundice are white in my opinion, only the males are yellow, and there is such a difference in colors! Could any of them have been a rare migrant?
---------------------
At night, moth # 2 from my message flew in large numbers (I haven't looked it up yet, have I?) and only one metalloid drop. In the afternoon I caught a moth No. 3.

01.10.2007 15:52, AntSkr

Macdunnoughia confusa should have been watched during the day - they fly more often during the day and at the beginning of twilight.

01.10.2007 16:20, Ilia Ustiantcev

Gee, the moth was Thera juniperata. In the Ozuyevsky district, it was not seen, but here in packs...

01.10.2007 17:24, Vlad Proklov

It's on Sirotkin's list, after all ... (one copy at a time, though...)

... And from the Kaluga region smile.gif
And in Tula, there are many points from the Oka-Upinsky watershed.

In general, here are her specific findings that I was able to find:
