Only childhood memories remained.

Childhood memories are a strong phenomenon. So personally, in my deep childhood, I remember the moment when I was in the ROC. rest homes in the village. Bullfinch, that because of the same direction as Krasnogorsk, some beetle rolled a ball in front of it. I had already heard a lot about scarabs at that time. But who could it be??? confused.gif

Hello everyone.
To be honest, I didn't think that I could grow caterpillars of this butterfly with such cataclysms of weather, but I managed it.
I stored blueberries in Zhukovsky Park.

They shit not only all over the forest at every step, but also near the building itself. Now they have a crucial period, like until mid-May, but so far they were lucky, they did not catch their eyes. By the way, pay attention to how a tornado (there seems to be nothing else) knocked out the forest, everything last year: it was felled in huge spots, a couple more such misfortunes - there may not even be a forest left...

The branch runs from the Belokamennaya station of the Small Ring directly through the forest park to the military unit on its border from the Yaroslavskoye Highway.

The weather here is not at all spring-like.
I went to shine on 10.04.2017 in the village of Zhukovo, Odontosia sieversi (2 males) flew out, it flew very sluggishly because the temperature collapsed.

According to current GFS forecasts, you should not wait for suitable fishing weather, especially at night, until April 27.

17.04.2017 20:11, ИНО

According to the current forecasts of GFS, if you believe them unconditionally, you should kill yourself, but recently their hit accuracy has approached the level of "grandmother for two said" and continues to fall.

Well, let's see a day in four to the depth of snowdrifts, in which half of Ukraine and part of the ETR will be buried))

If so, it would probably be the first time in the history of scientific meteorology. May is on the nose, we should already have a phenological summer. Of course, there are all sorts of anomalies, but I doubt, however, that this frying pan will talk directly into the snowdrifts. Although maybe as a punishment of the Lord for the "revolution of hydration" and subsequent obscurantism...

I went over the weekend to my dacha in Orekhovo-Zuyevsky district. Years disgusting, except for the most common 15 species of crested birds, there were very few scoops, not very many moths (or anything interesting), a few cocoonworms and hawk moth. There was only one Proserpine! I don't remember such a sour spring in the Moscow region. The photo shows a few butterflies, which I still took from the screen for friends. I was surprised by the strong difference in the color scheme of tremulifolias, usually they are always light brown, but here one is reddish. There was also only one Japanese school frown.gif

Went with Alexander Boldyrev.
We were lucky with the weather, it is quite warm both in the afternoon and in the evening with a complete calm.

Not many photos.

Then I mowed down the juniper trees that were piled up there.

Our ausonia is distributed mainly in the southern part of the region, inhabiting open spaces (steppes, floodplains, railway roadsides, etc.). The specified habitats are not found in the Moscow region.

Two stations of polyxena have been detected, plus one instance will be found at a sufficient distance from them. Probably, there are much more habitats in the district, the species occurs very locally, and it takes much longer to get around each corner... the Kirkazon is just beginning to grow (see photo below). It should also be noted that only one instance was submitted by Google.

Polyxena, contrary to some myths, can fly at a distance of many kilometers from her native kirkazon. True, in such places it rarely sits down, and if the eye is not trained, then you can not see what kind of nondescript gray butterfly flew by. And it takes off even when there is no hint of kirkazon. We have, by the way, it has long since departed, in the old years at such a time already found caterpillars of the last age.

And according to my observations, in the Urals, polyxena flies out when the kirkazon is already 15 centimeters high.

On May 26, I went to the vicinity of the Kubinka-2 station, I wanted to look for dry biotopes with thyme like the one on Sanatornaya, but they are not there, there are only spruce and mixed forests based on pine and spruce much less disturbed than in Pestovo, the number of bathhouse and anemone oak is off the scale in places, with aconite and voronets perhaps, too, everything will be fine in the summer)) I took a picture of a small star-shaped scoop Panemeria tenebrata, and also caught a new leaf wrapper Grapholita jungiella.

I went to Voinova Gora to explore the surrounding area more thoroughly than you can do when you go there to shine with Gennadich. It turned out that the dry pine forest to the east of the station, at least not far from the railway, although quite poor (not like in the west of the region), but not extreme, as in Tugolesye. There are a lot of different shrubs in the undergrowth, but not solid thickets, as it would be in the west. It looks like Nerskaya, although I didn't see any juniper trees. On both sides of the railway, especially from the north, there are huge amounts of broom. They come across myrmidon caterpillars (a lot), P. pruinata (once) and R. vibicaria (once), and the Alcis repandata caterpillar also forgot something there. Occasionally adult Scotopteryx luridata flies. The barbel Deilus fugax got hooked on the net as a hare. Also, I mowed down the rather common Cochylidia implicitana from the broom, and Phyllonorycter quercifoliella, which is new to me, from the oak tree, plus Epinotia tetraquetrana flew somewhere nearby. Interestingly, in Kubinka, many male tau flew through the forest, but on Voinovaya Gora, despite the abundance of oaks, I did not see one.

Taldomsky district, platform 119 km-nature monument "Melda colony of blue gulls", 10.06.2017.

The natural monument itself is a high swamp that is being restored after peat extraction. When I arrived at the place, the sun almost immediately disappeared and rain dripped periodically, so the lepidopteran fauna could not be properly assessed. Of the mace-moustaches, only rubi was found in the swamp, as well as a few mother-of-pearl, which, unfortunately, could not be considered close up, I assume that it was euphrosyne. Probably, the other possible species for this place have not yet flown out. Rosemary began to bloom recently, a lot of buds, some inflorescences have not yet bloomed. Surprisingly, not a single horsefly was found, usually there are plenty of them in such places. It was much more interesting in the surrounding forests, where a fairly diverse set of moth was observed.

Joint expedition to Bali 2nd and vicgrr. The goal of the trip is to find Oxymirus cursor.
The area of deforestation has significantly increased due to the removal of dead wood affected by bark beetles.
Stacks of freshly cut logs smelled like wood all over the place. The fragrance was indescribable, which foreshadowed great hopes, but alas.
Maybe the changeable weather (sometimes sun, sometimes rain), or maybe the stupid cold weather or the absence of the desired object affected the result of our hike, but in general we are happy with the walk.
