Hornet wasps? confused.gif Maybe the other way around?))

[I have a wasp infestation in my sliding metal treba (which we use to close the gate). And every day we have them suffer when there is a need to open the gate for the car (they fly out and circle above us). And the metal is very hot in the heat.
Please tell me how to move them and how to glue the honeycomb to a new location.

1day-there was a beehive with hornets
the next day-there are no hornets, the nest apparently broke off and fell inside the log as only pieces remained in place on which the nest was attached.. weep.gif
and there were already closed cells( it's a pity I can't get them, because of the OS, which is already sooo much

It's like you've got polysts there. They are not aggressive at all, and they are not afraid of them. It is better not to move the nest. Wasps are usually not restless. For example, we have the same nest in the pipe of bars and every day guys go there and do not suspect that there is a wasp colony at hand right now. I advise you to leave the nest, and when it is empty (at the end of summer), then fix the hole in the pipe with something smile.gif

Well, the nest could not withstand the weight of the brood in the cells and collapsed. Wasps are not to blame smile.gifIt is a pity that the nest collapsed and this fact is very unusual.

09.07.2012 17:26, Коллекционер

it could not collapse under its weight, it is very small howled 18-25cm diameter and only one level of cells

09.07.2012 23:38, Роман Ракочий

the reason in any case is interesting confused.gif

10.07.2012 0:12, Коллекционер

it's a pity that I can't pull it out now, otherwise it would be possible to get out the larvae wall.gif

10.07.2012 12:01, Роман Ракочий

and the workers and uterus in that place are no longer there at all? well, you can leave the larvae for fun, but then there will only be males there.

10.07.2012 12:29, Коллекционер

there are no workers or a uterus, that's just the thing, but to go out.. I say because of the os it is impossible to pull out the nest

Hurray! I found a hornet's nest next door 3 meters from this tree, the colony is large, when I hit the tree 20 pieces flew out and one stung me: - D it hurts damn.. it still burns

three meters away? do you have them there at every step?))
I was also bitten once by a hornet, 2 years ago, when I tried to take the nest for myself ))The bite was on the neck, below the ear.
Did the hornet catch up with you or did it bite you right next to the tree? Where was the bite?

18.07.2012 17:06, Коллекционер

I don't know, just while I was standing looking at the tree from all sides, I noticed a hornet circling nearby, followed it and it turned out that the nest was very close - through 4 trees from the wasp's nest and at the very base of a small birch tree.
I bit my left forearm, while I was walking to the house, I held my hand so that the blood would circulate less and there was practically no pain, I let go of the house and it started to burn. Despite the fact that I smeared ointment from bites, the pain came off only on the third day, but now the feeling that I hit this place hard. I want to go to them again, but now I'm afraid they'll remember me.. Can I take a brew? confused.gif to not be so angry

18.07.2012 22:22, Роман Ракочий

no, you don't need to take anything) then you probably disturbed them somehow and one attacked. When you go to them, do not make any sudden movements and it would be interesting when you would take a picture of the nest (the tree itself and where it is located) and the colony itself, hornets, the entrance to the colony)) If you will shoot, then try not to exceed the distance of 50 cm. from the nest.

18.07.2012 23:57, Коллекционер

I'll try, but ches saying something dumb to me now to approach them.. frown.gif

It is very interesting that they are so close to the wasps. A coincidence, of course. It's a very small hollow, isn't it? And the birch is narrow and very young, or is it just in the photo?

20.07.2012 8:36, Коллекционер

yes, the entrance is very narrow (max2cm wide), the birch is young, but already dead

26.07.2012 17:27, Коллекционер

I found another hornet's nest!(now already 15-20 m from the previous one) and judging by the fact that they even made the walls just outside on the bark of the tree, it's hugejump.gif jump.gif, but it's in a very thick tree((

I couldn't resist-I opened a tree with wasps))
I was surprised by the following
-there are a lot of males in the hive (half of the total number, or even more)
-there were 5 polychrome flowers in this tree(Live! and unkempt!)

How many males did I take for the collection, if it's not a secret?

28.07.2012 14:53, Роман Ракочий

The presence of males is characterized only by one thing - earlier the uterus died and the dominant wasps began to lay eggs. Since they are not fertilized, only one male has emerged from them.

but there were also large cells with large larvae

29.07.2012 23:07, Роман Ракочий

Interesting. But in any case, something is wrong with the socket. Perhaps the uterus laid eggs before death (as a result, large larvae), and the males-eto from workers.

I would post a photo of the nest, but there are problems with the camera right now..

I took the whole nest

what were you wearing? how did you not get bitten? Where did you kill all the hornets?

30.07.2012 18:49, Коллекционер

1-t-shirt and pants
2-I sprayed the"raid" om during the day and at the time of opening the nest, but some bad type of aerosol came across, very weak
3-what does hornets have to do with it? I also took

30.07.2012 19:06, vespa crabro

Hi everyone, I'm currently in Crimea.I will arrive on August 16.I have already noticed 16 nests of Polistus Gallicus, caught several females, and then released them in Moscow.I noticed that Polistus gallicus is very aggressive and has already bitten me several times. It is a pity to breed them in a terrarium is almost impossible because they are used to settle in the steppes and they collect pulp only from dried plants, so they have straw-colored nests.

30.07.2012 19:16, vespa crabro

By the way, tell me how to get to the nest in the ground, and then I have what time can not get a hornet's nest out of the ground.
