And where is the tibial spur on the front legs in the John-ST argus photos?
Are these also arguses? Penza region.

The spur is best viewed in a caught butterfly, as it often lies close to the leg and is not visible. I generally wrote the distinguishing features there.
1-3-argus
5-idas
6-argyrognomon
4-argus, but without a single silvery spot, an interesting shape.

Many thanks to everyone! And this idas or argyrognomon? The quality is of course disgusting (I shot with a telephoto lens from a distance of at least 1.5 meters), but I just want what is called "fill the eye".

People, help with the name of this wasp... - photographed in Colombia at an altitude of 1700m. The size is about 3 cm. It is unlikely that these are glass cases...

Fingerflies of the Pterophoridae family

Fingerflies do not have such short legs, here the shooting angle is very original, the butterfly is not visible smile.gif

This moth is similar to our Hydriomena furcata... But it was shot in Colombia. Probably even a different kind?...
The value seems to be the same (do not hit your feet on the head - I don't remember exactly).
June 1st. Into the light. On one side there is a forest, on the other there are secondary meadows. The height is approximately 1700 meters.

Please help me identify the dustpan from the Smoking area.

595 - Polychrysia aurata
596 - Lygephila maxima
597 - Sypnoides fumosus. In 2010, I brought two species from Sakhalin - Sypnoides fumosus and Sypnoides hercules. I had to cook, only then I realized how they differ without cooking. Both species often do not have a white sash at all. Here, by the way, Sypnoides hercules is laid out from Primorye.

598 - Xestia ditrapezium

Sypnoides picta has a different pattern on the upper wings, dark fat veins, a white sash is always present, more or less, and there are a number of distinguishing features from these two species. On Japanese sites, you can see
Amphipyra surnia (= Amphipyra monolitha) from the top view, you can immediately see the lower wings, they are bright, almost red. Most likely, this is still a pyramidea. And so far, no one seems to have caught it here, only in Japan.

An article on Amphipyra surnia will be published soon.
Sypnoides as I will straighten everyone, I will take a picture together, maybe it will be easier to determine this way.
